Eric Rosen in life: very calm and polite and has a gentle way of speaking and seems like a friendly intelligent guy. Eric Rosen on the chess board: absolute scoundrel and trickster. Constant traps and aggressive lines lol.
I love these podcast by Fabi and Cristian. As an adult who only learned in 2019 at 40years old I really enjoy Eric's and Yasser videos. They have very smooth relaxing voices. Was able to get to 1800 USCF thanks in large part to these videos.
@57:00 LOL, Fabi talking about how in chess courses for sale, the opening prep offered doesn't have everything, just enough stuff for the average tournament player but for 2700+ secrets you're not going to find it in a $49.99 course at Chessables or anywhere else. You cannot make this stuff up and it's why this podcast is a treasure.
Eric Rosen seems like a good guy. I've learned some things from his RUclips channel. Good interview. Thanks. I notice that the C-Squared subscriptions are increasing. Hope that Fabi and Cristian are successful enough at this to continue doing it for a while.
I very much enjoyed the dialog, discussion points, and kindness. Meaning some chess content can be nutty. One thought I had when GM Caruna was discussing the ebb and flow of openings’ popularity - and I hope I’m remembering correctly, was the period when World Champion Spassky kind of came out of retirement., and he was beating some folks and then, it seemed to my memory, he started getting thumped pretty good and it was because the younger players weren’t playing the K or Q’s gambit. But it didn’t take them long to get up to speed. Thank you for a podcast that is refreshing, constructive, and helps the audience feel like they’re sitting with you enjoying the conversation. Great stuff!!
I really hope you continue to publish videos! It's a pleasure getting insight from Fabi, an absolute master of the modern game with so much interesting to say :)

i got back into chess bc of Eric video of the London system, used to play chess when i was a kid... In 2018 my friend talked trash and destroyed me in otb game.. went to youtube, found Eric video and since i have never stop playing, thus my entry into the chess world.. (my circle of friends have never beaten me since) lol
Enjoyable interview with IM Eric Rosen. I played Eric a blitz game at Tanner’s in LA and was struck how humble and gracious he was to thrill chess enthusiasts by playing his many fans among the Coffee Chess crew. What also struck me how youthful he looks; IMHO his youthful glow comes from following his passion and not being cooped up all day in an office cubicle. Anyway, these podcast interviews are immensely interesting for highlighting people’s paths in the chess world and preserve history.

I love how chess people are holding up the story of there being a longtime "chess boom". Just own up to best thing that ever happend to chess players was people being locked up at home..
I believe that the top players greatly underestimate the value of their childhood trophies. Charity auctions have raised big coin from Hikaru's broken mouse.
@Edwardian23 For a while some traders at the Pacific Stock Exchange hired a chess master to detect patterns and for a while it worked I recall reading. May have been just chance or maybe there was some short term predictable pattern at that point in time.
Looks kind of high-tech cool to me. I bet nowadays some pinhole mic would be almost as good, given how electronics constantly miniaturize, but I dunno.
Really disappointed Caruana didn’t play the Stafford Gambit on Titled Tuesday. Just when you think you’re starting to get to know someone, treachery strikes…
The next step in video production is a bit of makeup. No Asian youtuber would be without it, but then again men wearing products is already more accepted in Asia.
I know this is weird, but I was distracted since the start of the podcast from the part above Eric's lips (where his moustache would be), because it was wet from slobber. I kept thinking / hoping he would feel it and use a napkin to wipe his face or something. The light was shining off of the sweat or spit. Disgusting.
