    My favorite way is to toss the leaves just like you did with olive oil and salt but that's all. Then spread it all out on sheet pan. Put it in a low (200 degree) oven and let it shrink and get crisp. It's almost like healthy potato chips.

    Try adding sugar or honey to the lemon..stir and dissolve the sugar or honey in the lemon juice and then pour it over the Kale. The sweet sour flavor is the best.

    Yes is an interesting recipe but I rather left it in water for half an hour then rinse it to remove the massive quantity of herbicide and pesticide that all the veggies do have now a days. Then boil it for five minutes, removing the water, add up lemon, olive oil, some pieces of sweet apples so it won't taste like thistle that horses eat and suffer while showing the thistle fool if spiky needles. We eat a lot of salads with raw cabbage finely cut like thine spagetty, lemon and olive oil. Is the salad of the poor together with organic rucula that comes back every sumer in the vegetable plot.

    Lovely kale drenched with liquid fat and doused with salt, yikes! Something wrong with the teeth, l somehow manage to eat it raw. If you must soften, blanching would be best.

    • @NutritionwithLorelei
      @NutritionwithLorelei  3 года назад +2

      Thanks Matthew - sure, nothing wrong with blanching kale, but if you want it raw, few have your determination to chomp on it plain. No need to drench with fat or douse with salt, a little bit will go a long way!

      Thanks for watching the video NP. As a dietitian I am always excited to hear from people who get greens daily! There are many for whom greens are intimidating, so having a few ways to make them more palatable is crucial. Hopefully everyone will eventually graduate to your level of green consumption. 😊

      @@NutritionwithLorelei I guess you're right. If it doesn't taste good, you're essentially giving people the excuse to spit it out. Of course, you could always send them to Chic-fil-A where the scrumptious salads are all under 300 calories.
