To really get the most out of chicken rice, add some of that thick black sauce on your rice. It is mildly sweet with nice umami soy flavour. Then put a little of the chilli sauce with a touch of the grated ginger(the yellow sauce) on the chicken. The combination brings the chicken to another level.

    KAYA TOAST:-
Kaya Toast is a classic Singaporean breakfast, especially when served alongside a cup of kopi and two soft-boiled eggs. An oldie but goldie. There is good reason for the sustained popularity of such a simple sandwich: the sweet, pandan flavours of kaya (coconut jam), salty pat of butter, and mouthfeel of white bread make quite an irresistible combination. Traditionally, kaya is served on thin, well-toasted slices of bread for a very crunchy, coffee dunk-able bite. However, there are many new renditions of Kaya Toast, usually swapping out the crispy toast for different breads: steamed, thick toast, french toast, crackers. You get the gist.
Sentosa Island, known mononymously as Sentosa, and formerly Pulau Belakang Mati, is an island located off the southern coast of Singapore's main island. The island is separated from the main island of Singapore by a channel of water, the Keppel Harbour, and is adjacent to Pulau Brani, a smaller island wedged between Sentosa and the main island.
Asia's Favourite Playground / Singapore's Island Resort / The State of Fun
Formerly used as a British military base and afterwards as a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp, the island was renamed Sentosa and was planned to be a popular tourist destination. It is now home to a popular resort that receives more than twenty million visitors per year. Attractions include a 2 km (1.2 mi) long sheltered beach, Madame Tussauds Singapore, an extensive Cable Car network, Fort Siloso, two golf courses, 14 hotels and the Resorts World Sentosa, which features the Universal Studios Singapore theme park and one of Singapore's two casinos, the other being in Marina Bay Sands.
Sentosa is also widely known as being the location of the 2018 North Korea-United States Singapore Summit, where North Korean Chairman Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump met at the Capella Hotel located on the island. This was the first-ever meeting between the leaders of North Korea and the United States.
    Hainanese Chicken 🍗 Rice 🍚 :-
Hainanese chicken rice is a dish of poached chicken and seasoned rice, served with chilli sauce and usually with cucumber garnishes. It was created by immigrants from Hainan in southern China and adapted from the Hainanese dish Wenchang chicken. It is considered one of the national dishes of Singapore and is most commonly associated with Singaporean cuisine, being widely available in most food courts and hawker centres around the country. Variants of the dish can also be seen throughout Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysia and Thailand, where it remains a culinary staple.
Chai tow kway or carrot 🥕 cake is a common dish or dim sum of Teochew cuisine in Chaoshan, China. It is also popular in Indonesia 🇮🇩, Singapore 🇸🇬, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Thailand 🇹🇭, Taiwan 🇹🇼 and Vietnam 🇻🇳, consisting of stir-fried cubes of radish cake.
    Ingredients:-
It is made with radish cake (steamed rice flour, water, and shredded white daikon), which is then stir-fried with eggs, preserved radish, and other seasonings. The radish cake is often served in large rectangular slabs which are steamed and then later fried whole. Alternatives to chai tow kway include those made of taro or solely of rice flour. The radish cake can also be eaten on its own, either just steamed, or steamed and then pan-fried, as opposed to the steamed then wok-fried with other ingredients in chai tow kway. Both the steamed and pan-fried varieties are commonly served topped with spring onions.
    Variations:-
The versions served by hawkers in Johor and Singapore, where Teochew people live, are typically prepared by frying the daikon cake with chopped preserved turnip, diced garlic, eggs, and Chinese fish sauce in place of soya sauce. Chopped spring onion is added just before serving. Northwards (e.g. in Kuala Lumpur), the same dish is darker due to the use of dark soya sauce, and bean sprouts are added.
In Singapore, however, it is more commonly cut into pieces and stir fried with eggs, garlic, spring onion and occasionally shrimp (both dried and fresh). There are two variants: the "white" version does not use sweet soy sauce, and the radish cake is fried on top of a beaten egg to form a crust; the "black" version uses sweet sauce (molasses), and the egg is simply mixed in with the radish cake.
    Cultural importance:-
The dish is very popular particularly in Singapore 🇸🇬 and Malaysia 🇲🇾, where it is enjoyed by people of different dialect groups and races, not just the Teochews, and is served in a range of establishments ranging from the simplest hawkers to the most expensive Chinese restaurants. It is a much-loved local comfort food in the region, and can be consumed at various times of the day; it goes from being a breakfast dish, to a main lunch dish, to a late-night supper dish. Many public figures are also known to have a fondness for the dish. Notably, the Singapore politician Chan Chun Sing declared his love for the dish in one of his speeches, specifying a preference of a particular variant of the dish (the "S$10 XO sauce chye tow kuay"), as opposed to the one commonly found in hawker centres and coffee shops, thus illustrating the many variations of the dish available in the region.
What is a Singapore ice cream sandwich?
The iconic Singaporean Ice Cream Sandwich is something different that you may not find in your own country, it's a brick of ice cream and wrapped up in a slice of bread. There are many different flavours of ice cream to choose from i.e. strawberry, peppermints, chocolate chips, vanilla, mocha and durian.
How much is an ice cream sandwich in Singapore?
The ice-cream man will then scoop your ice-cream, not cut it up. Anyone could afford the ice-cream sandwich, which has been humbly priced at $1 for years. Today, though, the price has risen by about 20 cents at certain stalls.
What is the history of ice cream sandwiches in Singapore?
The history Singapore ice cream sandwich began many years ago, when individual vendors realized that they can make good business. They started to sell ice cream of different tastes to people in the busiest areas. At first they were making home-made cold mixture to satisfy all the special requests.

For your information, the "Carrot" in the "Carrot Cake (萝卜糕)" is actually Radish, and it is called "Carrot" is due to the Chinese name for "Radish (白萝卜)" is actually "Carrot (红萝卜)" (direct translation), with the first word of the noun depicting the colour of the vegetable ("白"=“white”, "红"=“red”).

Welcome to Singapore! Hope you enjoy your time here. However, I can't believe you did all your research and missed out on how to eat Chicken Rice. Not only that you should add the black soy sauce on the rice, you should also dip the chicken into ginger sauce and Chili sauce to bring out the best flavour. Personally, I care less about the black soy sauce. But the ginger and chili source is a must.

You need to add the chili sauce with thr chicken rice to bring the flavour to another level. Otherwise, it just a basic taste. Also, i think yours was just the black carrot cake, not mixed. White carrot cake tastes peppery and white.
