dude thank you so much, i finally finished one similar to the one in the vid but i need a new ignition circuit because it dies very fast and for some reason some times it doesnt work so i change out the nichrome wire once in a while(and its a pain in the but) but then it starts to work lol but thanks its so freaking cooooooll!!!!!!
Dude, is there a way to create some form of containment for the flames? Imagine somrthing attached to the end of the saber for the fire to flow through. This way when you swing it, it wont extinguish? But you also want the flames to be useful, so what if the fire was "sandwiched" between 2 sharp blades, and the fire shot between them thus creating essentially flaming blades. Or if you shot the flames through a thin tube that was bored with holes on either side for the flames to escape from. And that small like, thin as a straw, tube wad sandwiched between 2 blades. So the pressure behind the fire is stronger because the tube is pretty thin, causing it to burst out of the sides where the tiny holes are bored, thus heating the blades and creating a scorching hot fire saber? There must be a way to contain the flame so it remains erect, while still letting it freely burn whatever it touches. It must be made swingable! Lol this is so cool and the closest ive seen to the real thing. Youve figured out how to project fire out of a handle. Now how do you harness and stabilize it so it wont extinguish or act like a whip more than a blade? YOURE SO CLOSE
The blades would have to have a convex design where the, along the length. The center is curved upward, while the edges are pinched down. Like a bell shape if ur looking down the length. This way you can shoot the fire through the "tunnel" created between the 2 blades and have the fire spew out of the sides! Idk just being imaginative im not a scientist. But basically imagine parentheses (), each parenthese is a blade. The fire is projectiled inside through the middle, while the edges are sharp as heck and may not be fully sealed. This way the fire can shoot out between the blades

You are missing two things that would make this a real lightsaber, but you are closer than anybody in history (you really should be proud, as this is the first major step towards a real one). What you're missing is power and stability. If you were to try and marry your plasma blade with a LIPC (laser induced plasma channel, which involves running multiple burning laser beams in close parallel, and bouncing electricity between them by having the beams intersect with high voltage discharge from something like the electrodes of a stun gun), or maybe even just rig a stun gun circuit so that your plasma stream intersects with the stun guns electrodes, the plasma should carry the electricity (or light and electricity, if you opted for LIPC instead of just electrodes). This could make your blade ALOT more powerful, and would see you at about 80% of what a lightsaber should be (let's say you're currently at 15% or so, which is still very impressive, as our best minds have said it was impossible for years). To get the final 20%, you need stability in the blade, which could be managed, honed and adjustable by passing the beam through the center of multiple adjustable highly magnetic rings. Fluctuating the magnetic field should contain and adjust the beam, and that's about all there is to it. Essentially, you need to integrate a taser circuit, a few blue ray diodes and a couple magnets into your design.
Hey Allen, I am a huge fan! I was just wondering how you got the nichrome wire not to absolutely destroy the terminal block... when I tried, it melted a lot.
I don't think you went over this in the video, I'm sorry if you did. The ignition coil appears to stay on(lit?) as long as the fuel is flowing. Would it not wear out/break fast? It reminds me of the coils they use in hand held vaporizers and I was always told never to leave the coil on for too long or it could burn out.

You should build a sith light saber. Preferably, Darth Maul's. It's a cool light saber design, being double, and would provide a challenge for you. Do it!

They’re not made for it. Vape mods were used to utilize them. Lipos are more powerful and have a longer life depending on the size.
