Hillsborough parkrun - is this the fastest parkrun in South Yorkshire? Is it a sub 16?

Officially this is my third time at Hillsborough parkrun out of my 461 parkruns so far! I’ve been here before. I’ve trained on this route before, using it a couple of times as a time trial during the parkrun Covid years.
Last time I was here in January I ran a 16.08, can I run a sub 16 on the course today? With a slightly different route to tackle.
We’ve come for a training group outing, to ‘have a go’ at time trialling the parkrun to see where we land. Making it into a social event at the same time, with a stop off at The Depot Bakery in Neepsend afterwards. Making it so much more than just running together.
Hillsborough is 3 laps of the park, around 150ft of climb, it’s busy with just over 600 people. The paths can handle it, in places. The community at Hillsborough is fantastic, with some proper friendly Yorkshire folk!

Thanks Gareth - haven't done Hillsborough for well over 2 years - remember it threw it down that day -The course has changed a lot since then - must go back again soon

We went to The Depot on site in half term. Great food. I'd never considered Hillsborough that quick but it sounds like the current route and new tarmac have changed things.

It’s the three quarters of a lap downhill that does it for me… I much prefer an undulating course, but there’s a reason it’s one of my fastest parkrun courses out of the 50 different ones I’ve done… falls just behind, Hull, York and comparable to Long Eaton!

Excellent video mate, I must try Hillsborough. I went to Selby park run this morning if you have never been you should go its mega fast, its on an airfield. I knocked 1 min 17 sec off my PB. I would imagine you would set a sick time there. keep up the great videos mate, all the best

Been through there once in May 2022, great parkrun… I don’t find it as fast as Hull or York mind, but the surface and lack of turns lends itself to being quick. I did go the wrong side of the trees through and ended up running longer than everyone else 😅

😂😂 - appreciate the tip about Hull and York I might give them a blast soon. I’m chasing down my first sub 20 5k I’m nearly there, I got a 20:34 today. I’ve learned a few bits from your channel as well👍🏻 thanks and keep the videos coming.

York is great if it ain’t windy, Hull can be shielded from it with the high trees.

If you're looking to break 20, Hull is definitely the best option as the paths are wider. York can get congested unless you're Gareth's pace. I did a 20:10 there last time so next time...
