Aaliyah was one of my greatest and most profoundly impactful inspirations as a young girl. She deserves to have her legacy be carried onward for the multitudes of oncoming generations. 🥀
Your girl Aliyah is burning in hell
She deserve to be on the Walk of fame Period ❗❗😍💯
She is
I agree is Aaliyah on the Hollywood walk of Fame or not ???
Yea 😊 indeed 100 💯 percent
@@gregpuryear8163 She will be inducted on July 24th I believe
I agree
I watched the doc. It may seem like they focused a lot on him from this clip but they didn’t. They actually did a decent job focusing on her style influence, her education, going to prom, doing movies, modeling and more. Aaliyah was more than than situation with Kelly and I wish people would focus on that too. Remember her how she wanted to be remembered.
I'm so glad I came across your comment. I'm literally crying right now, like why can't they ever talk about her legacy and not mention his name. She deserves so much more than to be constantly linked to that man. So I will be watching it. Thank you for the reassurance.
Pedophilia runs rampantly through the entertainment industry dudes sick singing about getting some underage p dudes been wilding since the 60's
Rather you people want to accept it or not without R. Kelly there would be no Aaliyah (R.I.P). Her uncle Barry Hankerson tried to get her a deal and no one in the industry would give her a chance. R. Kelly spotted her talent and gave her a chance. He wrote and produced her entire first album. As much you people want to rewrite history you can’t diminish his contributions to the early parts of her career.
@@willsalter8113 man hush. 😂She would have def still been in the business without R. Kelly. Those labels didn’t sign her because she was only 12 at the time. Which is understandable. Who’s about to bet money on a 12 year old. Which is why even after she met rkelly they didn’t drop her album until she was 15. It’s easier to market a 15yo than a 12yo.
Good to know because I wasn't gonna watch.
I watched This on Hulu and let me just say… I’m still sooo sad about her death. One of the celebrities I never will get over. But her legacy will always always be here!
I don't think Nobody got over Aaliyah 22 years later since her death
She will always be The Princess of R&B and The Queen of Urban Pop! ALWAYS! Rest in Heaven Aaliyah
Aaliyah is truly one of a kind. I wish people had her back just like she had theirs. I’ll forever remember and cherish her. 🥹❤️
Forever in our hearts. Live on. 🎉
Aaliyah is missed everyday ❤
My favorite singer when I was a kid. She passed when I was 10 yrs old & i remember it hit me hard because my whole room was filled with her posters & I had all of her CD's, I just couldn't believe someone I looked up to isn't here anymore.
But I listen to her music daily & also watch "Romeo Must Die" & "Queen Of The Damned" from time to time. I'm sure she would of blew up even more if she was still with us.
R.I.P BEAUTIFUL AALIYAH 💜
She was so pretty. I like to think Disney might've put her to work in one of their live action films as a princess.
@EdTube1989 😐
@EdTube1989I thought of that
Zendaya should play her in a movie
Yeah, thats all we need. Queen of the Biracials kissin' another whyte guy(because we know Disney will make the prince whyte anyway).
This thread is about Aaliyah.
No thank you.
Aaliyah had a unique tomboyish style, sang over raw beats and could dance, but she was a victim over and over again...they plotted on her death, and right when her career was taking off, she passed away...Protect the innocent because fame and fortune ain't worth dying over...
I believe they did.....she would have been bigger than who is now is all I will say.
@Aziza Maria exactly, but there is a price to pay when you are part of the industry... Unfortunately, she paid with her life.
@@elizabethwashington9168when she was in Queen of the damned that’s when they got her. It was a ritual and symbolic. She had to be sacrificed to the elite white devils that run the entertainment industry.
@@elizabethwashington9168Exactly hollyweird fame and fortune comes with a price
@@msmichelle2196 Amen!
Aaliyah will always be a legend in music, dancing, modeling, hair, makeup, fashion, acting etc. I'm so happy she has a well done documentary on her life and legacy. ❤❤❤❤
True 😢
Aaliyah was so unique.
Omg miss her so much. What a terrible loss..R.I.P AALIYAH💖🙏😢
I really wish we could hear from people who were close to her. Not fans, journalists, other celebrities, and speculators. I wanna hear from close friends and family.
Same here. She had lots of close friends in the industry who knew her personally. We want to hear about what she was like as a person, not as a celebrity superstar. I think after all these years, it's time for that. But, I can also understand how they may want to keep those memories private since it may be all they have left of her memory as a friend. Still, it would be nice for us to know a bit more since she lived before social media.
@@mwhite4976They need to stop being selfish and share those memories
PS. RE-OPEN UP HER CASE?
I just finished watching it! I'm so happy Superstar did an episode featuring Aaliyah!❤
Thanks for doing a documentary on aaliyah may she rest in peace ❤
All Aaliyah songs remain in my playlist She has never left me.❤
How is this a tribute if they’re going to lament on her past with R Kelly. I wish they would just focus on who she was, what she did, and her music catalog.
And how Damon even say that R.Kelly was a very bad man. When he was in the Twista and R.Kelly video So Sexy after when Aaliyah died! Like people need to start using their heads and start thinking!
Bruh it's a part of her story get over it
@@cortezmiller1899 listen you made me go back and watch that video. I already had a side eye about him. Now that I watch it……whew chile. That’s all I’m a say.
R kelly made aaliyahs image so he was a really important person in her life
@@cortezmiller1899 Damon a whole clout chasing narcissist . Dude was so in love with Aaliyah but been married like twice and had a bunch of kids since her death. It’s ok to move on just don’t act like Aaliyah was the center of your universe. They weren’t even together that long.
RIP Aaliyah 💐 🙏🏼
I’m still her biggest fan to this day. I remember the disconography I created for her in hs before her death. Such a beautiful, sweet soul. When she died I was so depressed I stopped eating 😢 RIP Babygirl 🙏🏾🥹❤
How is this an Aaliyah tribute special when its all focused on R Kelly?
Forever missed. 🕊️ RIP baby girl ❤
She deserved better
4:05 - Growing up, I had heard rumors about how R. Kelly and Aaliyah had gotten married and how there was even a marriage license, but I had NEVER seen it until now!
Aaliyah really did have a soulful voice that lent itself to R&B and Hip-Hop well. She was a TRULY talented artist that was taken too soon. ❤🖤💚🙏🏾
Greatness The QUEEN OF URBAN POP
this documentary didn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know….journalists, modern day singers, fashion designers who can’t do anything but speculate about who she was because they didn’t actually KNOW her. Aside from the few rare clips and graduation/prom photos, most of the footage already is on RUclips. They could have kept this. Coming from a real Aaliyah fan.
Would have loved to hear from Missy Elliot and Timberland
I was wondering if it was going to be something new. I was hoping people she knew would be on it. All these people who looked up to her and truly didn’t know her isn’t really it. And I’m a big Aaliyah fan too.
@@lomaxlomax6152 facts, Me too.
I’m tryna figure out the point of another documentary right now
Loved this...they really got some rare clips and put together her story well for the most part...just wish more of her music was included. But overall great production
I'm sure her thieving uncle is what stopped them from including additional Music.
I still can't get over AALIYAH death
I always wonder where would she be today
Her beauty!
Thank you for this! I miss Aaliyah was such a beautiful woman inside and out.
I love her ❤️
She is still one of my favorite artist of all time. Forever a fan❤. I remember when she died, my mom woke me out of my sleep and told me the tragic news😢, I couldn’t believe it.
Aaliyah was a great Talent!. 💥💥💥
Princess of RnB
I still remember the night i found out she passed. Still brings tears to my eyes. I had to tell my older sister, who is friends with Ananda, about it. I couldn't believe it because I heard it due to the initial source.
She was Soo pretty!!!
I miss her so much😢
I haven’t seen it yet but I hope they mentioned how her plane crash wasn’t an “accident”. Her uncle had her k*lled for 90 million. A deal he signed 4 days before she filmed Rock The Boat. He was upset she was leaving his label. There was no need for her to go to the Bahamas to shoot the video with her already being in Miami and the Rock The Boat already being 95% green screen.
How do you know this?
After her death, her uncle received $9 million, that would make you think he has something to do with it. You’re worth more dead than life!
Yeah. He made 90 million off her death 😡
😮 is this information documented somewhere ?? Heartbreaking 💔 if true

Aaliyah forever
I remember I used to part my hair down the middle in a bob just like Aaliyah with a Bandana.
She & Selena quintanilla Perez were my favorite singer & both pass away.. RIP baby girl ❤️
Thank you so much for doing this❤

I believe Aaliyah was telling the truth
I love about Aaliyah she is true RIP to Baby Girl ❤️🌹🕊️🙏😎🎤
Aaliyah was a Artist way before her time she has this mature voice at 14 y.o singing adult music whether it's hip-hop or r&b music. Regardless of these circumstances surrounded before or after her death she was a True Artist gone to soon. Rest in Heaven. ❤️🙏❤🙏
Love this! R.i.p Aaliyah 🙏🏾🙏🏾🤎🤎
My beautiful best friend i really miss her music and movies/
as soon as the marriage was confirmed, authorities should have gone after him.
That "marriage certificate" was fake. If it was true he would have been charged immediately. Everything lies and more lies to nail a man for loving his protege.
Celine Dion at only 14 years old, kissed a man who would later become her husband. Where is the charge against him,or Elvis Presley who married Priscilla when she was 13?

I see aliela with the aaliyah sunglasses, that’s so sweet
She’s done music, fashion, movies, animation, hosting, and probably more. She was versatile and would probably be all over entertainment. I think she’d have some of the funniest and trendiest moments on her socials. She was famous but still a normal girl inside.
Baby girl, a.k.a Aaliyah will forever be missed.🌹
Amazing angel 👼🏽 🕊️❤️🔥
She is so missed and will never be forgotten! I hate she went through all she went through as a teen. I wish she was still here! She was such a down to earth sista! She hand wrote a letter to a fan. It is so sad that there are predators in the music industry. I mean they are everywhere, but they are heavy in the entertainment industry. May her soul forever RIP and the culprits responsible for her death pay a hefty and ultimate price. I do mean everyone involved too.
I will always love you and miss you Aailyah💖💖
Beautiful angel
yes, we can all agree on that. But she lives on through her music,Aaliyah will
never be forgotten ever .
R.I.P. Aaliyah 🙏🏽🩷❤️💜🕊️
Miss her ❤️😊
One thing, I can respect about Ms. Aaliyah.. Is that people wanted her, so badly to speak on her marriage to Mr. R Kelly! That *NEVER* happen she took it to her *GRAVE*
She was being groomed by Kelly and its so sad to know what she possibly had to endure.
Her uncle Barry Hankerson allowed it to happen. Shame on him!
@@franklin8618And her mom and dad
We love ❤️ & miss u
How many specials do we really need on Aaliyah? They revisit this story every two to three years just like they do Biggie and Pac. There is nothing new we learned. We all know the scandal with R. Kelly and she was multi-talented, singing since she was a kid in that one show. Again, nothing new. So many other stars passed away that we rarely hear about. Lisa Left Eye passed around the same time, yet i think theres only one doc on her and it was the one she made herself before she died. There's always a doc on TLC but i wanna know more about Lisa from the beginning.
Y'all could have kept this documentary
Stop making her legacy about R. Kelly.
R.Kelly jumped started her legacy.
I can’t find this on Hulu
I have to check that out
Artists who dont live very long seem to always be ahead of their time and mature very quickly as if to make up for their limited time. Whitney was so mature too very young.
Princess of R&B
About time dang

She was it Period!!!!!!!!
“It happened without their knowledge”…righttttt….

I love Aaliyah Haughton's debut LP. It's actually the only one that I have a connection to from her catalog. It was an R. Kelly produced project and I was obsessed w/ his sound when I was little. I know it like the back of my hand. _Young Nation_ is actually my favorite Aaliyah record. I only know a few cuts from her second and third LPs. Nah, am I a huge Aaliyah fan? I'm a huge fan of her debut LP. Nah see, in this video, they showed a clip of MTV's Kurt Loder reporting on the alleged "marriage." Sh¡t, it was even on the cover of Vibe magazine. WHY DIDN'T THEY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT IN 1994?! Oh, I just wanna scream because it frustrates the hell outta me. Why did the media wait 25 to 30 years later? I'm very disappointed at how things were (or weren't) handled. In 2023, folks are still making excuses about it. "We were intoxicated by black music finally getting the credit that it deserved." Danyel Smith, really? That's yo' excuse? WOW! So basically, never mind a young black girl's abuse. Black music's exposure means more. (shakes head in disappointment) The only reason why R. Kelly is in trouble (30 years later) is because the industry has no more use for him. That's what they do. They use you, milk you dry and move right on to the next one. Make no mistake about it. The industry ain't fighting for no victims or nothing like that. They needed an excuse to phase R. Kelly out. The same thing happened to Marilyn Manson two years ago. His impactful days are long gone. He's old and washed up. Let's destroy his legacy. And the list goes on and on and on.
You went but still present in our world 🌍
Is this a tribute to Aaliyah or a doc on her relationship with R.Kelly?
Need posters of her in stores
What stores?
where is it on Hulu?
♥️
It's difficult to watch old aaliyah stuff because it pisses me off and reminds me who she was, what she did and what she could/would have done if she was still alive.
Especially after i saw her in queen of the damned i realised she would become a universal artist. She was special.
So sad that she is gone.
RIP
It is so sad that people say a parent or someone hasn't gotten over the death of their child. Who ever stops grieving the loss of a child? unless they had something to do with it. I mean grief from the loss of a child is a everyday thing. I lost my daughter to violence, and what is up with the sunglasses? You know what that means, you are in the inside, no sun is inside DD. Smh! Again your Legacy will always be here. Rip Aaliyah I miss you so much!
Dat Detroit baby ♥️🐐
Were her mother and / or brother interviewed for this?
What was the point of this documentary? Birthday, special anniversary, etc?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
WHERE WAS HER PARENTS , HER MOTHER CLAIMED THAT SHE WAS ALWAYS THERE BUT CLEARLY NOT CUZ SHE GOT MARRIED TO HIM AND MORE BUT HER STORY ISNT NO DIFFERENT FROM JZ AND BEYONCE BECAUSE JZ GROOMED BEYONCE AND FOXY BROWN AT A VERY YOUNG AGE AND HE WAS RKELLY AGE SO IF ANYTHING BRING ALL OG THEM TO THE FRONT, DAME DASH ISNT NO BETTER.
Definitely to hard to watch still listen to her timeless music
Do yall remember HOT LIKE FIRE WITH MISSY ELLIOTT AND TIMBERLAND SHE DID NOT COME OUT WITH R KELLY FIRST
❤🙏
Y'all chose to show the lowest/most traumatic part of her life instead of sonething great as a teaser? Sickening. Long live Aaliyah
Aaliyah's legacy must continue to grow with her music, image and her message of making your dreams into a reality and still be a sweet person. Such a beautiful, talented lady who is so missed.
Aaliyah. Meleny. Bow. Wow
I’m a huge Aaliyah fan but this doc seems so random. Wats the point of it? Do we learn anything new? Ion get it..
It could've been frustration from the culture in the belief that ppl that live the way they have to live b/c of the fame & fortune is predatory for protection
how is this a tribute if y’all keep talking about Rkelly? That’s not HER legacy.
I. watching this
