Look at the way they lean into each other. Look at how Aaliyah leans towards Missy. Body language tells you these ladies were really close and comfortable with each other
True! But it seems like aaliyah was moving away from kim and leaning toward Missey; it seems like aaliyah and kim probably had a disagreement or some dislike for e/o by their body language. And also kim looks uncomfortable sitting by her too. But both ladies showed maturity/class regardless. I think im reading too much into the video lol
@@ceeset5472 you are lol
@@ceeset5472 Aaliyah was leaning on her also she was leaning on both of each other! And they were just dancing and holding hands together so how does that mean they had a disagreement? Lil kim even wanted Aaliyah to be in her video!
@@marilynking3350 If you look earlier aaliyah was moving away from lil kim like they had had a disagreement behind the scenes. Also of course lil kim and aaliyah are going to pretend to be buddy buddy in front of the camera. Because their getting paid and it wouldn't look right if they wasn't interacting with e/o on camera. Also at the vmas when aaliyah was announced by Ricky Martin to achieve her award u could see lil kim giving her a jealous look. Like I said that's what it looked like to me. I could be wrong 🤷♀️
@@ceeset5472 you are if anything Lil Kim had love for Aaliyah like she was a little sister the only was doing what the camera crew was telling them to do they all had mad love for one another

Gotta love Missy for always looking fly and looking her best as a larger "dark skin" black female. She really deserves more credit for showcasing her beauty and being comfortable in the skin she is in...
Did you give back handed compliments to your mommy
@@introvertedcusp3364 My comment wasn't back handed...
@@introvertedcusp3364 Notice that I put the words "dark skin" in quotes. We as black people shouldn't need to call ourselves dark when our skin shades are the standard across the diaspora.
What does her shade have to do with her beauty? It's people like you that are part of the problem and why we are still so brainwashed.
@@egyptianqueen4007 Her being "dark skin" has everything to do with it. Notice I used quotes around "dark skin" (Those skin shades represent the majority of us across the diaspora), Missy has always been an icon & example to other black women especially "dark skin" women to be comfortable in one's skin. I mentioned "dark skin" because of the prevalent nature of colourism in society & especially in the music & entertainment industry. Missy has always transcended the fuckry...
Da Brat doesn't get enough flowers. The fact that 20 years later she is still in the game and didn't sacrifice her soul is major!! Congrats Queen!

Aaliyah literally foretold the future of Hip-Hop.
It is EVERYWHERE.
What she said?
@@Brooklynlynne ....that it was going to be a part of mainstream pop culture it was going to be accepted...and she was right ....the charts and sales proved it....for about a good 7 years....and the artists themselves would incorporate it into every facet of their work....the most notable artist to do it is MARIAH.....
Lil Kim shoulda never changed. She was drop dead gorgeous.
Yes she was now she looks scary

It's very easy to pinpoint who copies Lil Kim. But who imitates Aaliyah? (No one can come close or compare, maybe that's why I don't realize who is copying my Bæ! 😫)
I love how Aaliyah was able to be herself which looks so silly fun funny and yet still so very sweet at the same time once she really got to know someone. She was truly a beautiful soul.

The days when every woman had their own individual style, hair, and clothes. Not sure what's happened in the last 5-8 years. Everybody looks the sammmmeee...
Preach!
The internet!! Social media has warped our brains... remember how parents didn’t want us watching tv 24/7.. now we have social media on our finger tips.. this plays a huge influence on our minds. We see 1 popular person and think that’s how we should be.. it’s very unfortunate. Social media has allowed people to create a look which doesn’t even match who they really are... Build a bear!
Wow interesting statement
@Dee Powell thing is people have been copying since forever . The problem now is the actual industry. They are the ones putting copies of the same people on. There are sooooo many original independent artists out there with WAY more talent but we won't get to see them because they dont fit into the industry's little bubble
Yes i had to get out the matrix
These are the OG's of hip hop & RB! Missy & DaBrat were always Tom boyish, Lil Kim was all about that glam glam, and Aaliyah was in between. These 4 women were tight. Aaliyah is so missed! 😥
As a child of the 90s I'm glad to say I grew up in this era. Love all of them and their uniqueness, they all were nonconformist. And their body language speaks volumes, you can tell they all had a comfortability and respect for one another.

It was beautiful but not better than most artists today. I’m sure it would’ve gotten better if she were still here, kind of like with most artists who sound wayyyyy better than when they started

Awwww, why does lil kim seem so soft spoken and shy? haha she's so adorable! When she raps her voice changes dramatically, but when she speaks she sounds so sweet and innocent. As a kid I use to listen to her album, it was the pink one (I don't remember what it was called). Looking back at it now, I'm surprised my mom didn't care haha
Kim was sweet. . So sad alot of black men are not able to treat these precious ladies like the queens they are.I tend to believe alot of black men do not love their blackness and take it out on the black woman. Any man can see that Kim was very pretty ...always easier to pick on the black woman then get help dealing with their own insecurities. So sad ...adults with their inner little boy and girl in pain.
Her first album was pink and is named Hardcore. People call it the female rap bible cuz of its huge influence down to this day. Her 2nd album was also pink btw, Notorious KIM… less hostoric but more Barbie and fun!

why do ppl always say aaliyah was ahead of her time that always confuses me bcs i dont think she was
@@dclark_ she definitely was and that can’t be taken away from her.
@@alazjaw.8968 i know i worded it wrong but idk what yall mean when yall say that
@@dclark_ she was just very mature for her age & her music seems to hold up better than the music of most other artists from the 90s
i’ll never get over this video, their chemistry !
