This place is a true Houston staple. I met Irma when I lived nextdoor to her son and he invited me to his Mother's restaurant. He now manages the other downtown grille location and Miss Irma still runs her restaurant. If you have never been there, you are really missing out! You can taste the love in everything she serves!!!
This place was on our list of food places to eat at on our road trip through the states. We are Canadian up in Manitoba and even we've heard of this place. Im hoping after this Covid crap we still get the chance to.
Wow, this is an inspiration to me. I lost my Wife of 40 years on Feb 2nd 2021 and have been going downhill, don't think I will open a restaurant but this gives me hope !! Props to this woman because I know the pain she went thru...
Bro, these country reporter videos are so wholesome. I'm glad there's people like this in the world. And I'm glad these videos are made.
This story pulled some strings but in a really good way. Probably one of the best self starter restaurant stories I've ever heard of.
I thought I was just watching a food video, and now I'm sitting there with a tear in my eye. But thanks, what a great story of strong lady!
A truly uplifting story about Irma. Not only has she battled tragedy and heartache, but pulling herself up and being able to make a success of her life, is truly an amazing achievement. Much respect to this amazing lady.
a strong woman and a great kitchen - she has my respect for going through all her pain and still creating this beautiful place
May God continue to BLESS this beautiful woman and her family. ~
So beautiful and I can so relate to her tragedy. I'm in that same boat, but with the passing of my son. He was 17. Please thank Irma for sharing.
The food looks really good and despite looking like she's been through a lot she seems like a very strong and sweet woman.
THANK YOU *TEXAS COUNTRY REPORTER!!!
God Bless her and her Resturant
Irma is a strong women!! god bless her.
Very uplifting story, happy to see that she was able to persevere despite the tragedy. May God continue to bless her.
Aye Senora Irma you brought tears to my eyes with your testimony & brought encouragement to mi corazon.
🇲🇽Mucha Gracias🇲🇽
I really needed to hear her story.
What a remarkable lassy.
May the Lord bless her with health and success.
The TCR is head and shoulders above the Texas Bucket List, because the stories are more about the subjects and less about the presenters.
Omg what a great woman. Much Respect ✊👏🏼👍
I had lunch at Irma's last year. It was truly amazing. It really was fresh food. The mole and guacamole were amazing.
I live in Houston tx and I'll be visiting that place just to hug that admirable, strong, sweet and beautiful woman...and of course, the food looks delicious too.
Beautiful story ..Thank you and Irma for sharing it....maybe one day I can visit with my family and enjoy her food and company...
Guy Vincent i went with my gf to visit went to this place absolutely amazing get the mole 🙏🏻🔥
Very moving ; Irma is very spirited.
I listened and watched the video, even I am 10,000 km away from you, imbued with respect for this worthy woman, God grant her health and long years, probably I was not destined to come to her cafe and taste her excellent cuisine, but I wish her well-being .. hello from Siberia
I've experienced Irma, her boys and the staff for many years. They are as genuine as this video portrays. Great food...especially their lemonade!
What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger
Another unbelievable story..very sad but uplifting..bless her!💝
Oh how I love you TCR! And I love you Irma!! You are a magnificent inspiration. Gracias!

I've got to look her up when I'm in my home state......n eat there......my name is Irma too....... awesome story....... greetings everyone from Asheville NC
Sad story but a woman with a beautiful soul that touches many
How can 14 people dislike this person having the strength to pick herself up and continue being strong and confident? I loved this episode. No wonder the world is so upside now.
Right?
Must be all liberals they don’t like to see people s standing on their own two feet
I see that number has climbed to 26 worthless human beings!
david crowder probably both liberals and hardcore racist trump supporters
A very Sad but at the same time a Beautiful Story. Best Wishes to her, She deserves to survive and find some Happiness in Her Life.
Joseph Kain Amen!
That lemonade is fantastic! I've been there, as you can guess. It's WONDERFUL.
The food looks amazing.
I love, love finding these out the way places when I'm traveling! There just so hard to find when on the road. Wonderful videos like yours just has to be a boon for there worthwhile businesses.
Her story represents son many people. She is a true hero, not like the ones you see on social media showing their athletic bodies and fancy cars. A true hero is someone who falls and has the strength to get back up. That guacamole looks amazing BTW
God bless. Stopping by when I get to Houston.
Love texas
Made me cry...over and over again...What a powerful human being!
I want those fajitas! Yum!!! With a margarita, please. 😋😋😋. How wonderful!
RIP Luis...
BEAUTIFUL STORY IRMA, BEAUTIFUL LIFE MI AMOR TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND GOD BLESS YOUR HUSBAND
God bless you Irma!
While I do not know Irma's pain I do know my own. My wife passed away, and she is right, it takes time, and you have to be alone to think and heal. Bless you, Irma, your words and your spirit are comforting. I wish you nothing except success, and do hope to visit Irma's one day.
Another Place To Visit 🌞 🙏 🇺🇸 👍
What a strong and wonderful woman. The thumbs down from some people just show how messed up this world can be. Thank God for people like her.
Irma mucho bendiciones para ti mi amore muchas gracias 🙏🙏👏👏❤💞
Looks delicious, thanks for sharing.
I've watched 10 plus videos I definitely got to come to Texas
What a wonderful Woman! A great inspiration to us all🌞
There's heart put into her amazing establishment and shows once you enter the door and continues until you exit which is not soon after you enter. You can't leave.
Looks so good.
A true inspiration. Vaya con Dios!
" problem til I die... " the loyalty

GOD BLESS IRMA AND HEY FAMILY. I'D LOVE TO VISIT HER HOME AND TRY HER FOOD
What a Beautiful Soul she has
Her love never gets old. Thats the one thing that stays fresh along with the food.
Amazing lady I will become a patron
I have eaten at Irmas......delicious....super quick service.
bless her heart
Bless u. Irma
Interesting. No menus. Next to Minute Maid Park. Obviously a lot of business. How is it possible? You would have to train waiters differently, or so I would imagine. I know this woman, who memorizes every tables' order, in the grill/bar at this hotel in Amsterdam. You can't work there if you cannot remember dozens of orders, because I don't think they let you write orders down. Been there maybe 80 times. Never seen anyone write anything down. There was this Scottish dude, who was really nice, friendly, very approachable, but he had problems remembering. He didn't last too long. So. If you take away the menus, and the place is packed, you would have to train people who are maybe not like super advanced or at home in restaurants, but very much into THAT restaurant and that would mean Irma. That dude said that he would be eating there at least once a week, for the rest of his life. That's loyalty. Jeez.
Bravo 👏
Wonderful abuelita. God bless her heart.
Beautiful story, if I'm ever in Houston I'll make it a point to stop in for some good comida Mexicana. 👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
I visited Irma's years ago in Juarez. Seems the menu has changed.
I've got to go there.

People....just in case you're wondering if you have not been there, this is true/authentic tex-mex food. Unlike taco bell, taco cabana, or other "voted best Mexican" eateries in Austin or Dallas.
My buddy and I ate there a few years ago. Very very good and met this Beautiful Women who makes so food that is so good.
