Most times when you have a grill in back of a grocery store/ bait shop, you know the food is going to be awesome.
Gotta be careful for the one where the same person that gets your bait, goes straight to the grill and starts cooking ...

Thanks for this excerpt Bob. This reminds me of my great uncle's Bar B Q store from back in the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. Thanks for the ride.
My 19 yr old nephew came by with 3 friends from college. They wanted something to eat but didn't know what. I made them fried beef bologna sandwiches. They never tried them and loved them. Later, I ordered 4 large pizza's. They ate them for dinner. About 11pm, I went into the kitchen and they were all eating cereal. Still hungry! Food is the one thing worth sharing. College kids eat ramen noodles and canned ravioli.
LOL not the Fried Bolony sandwich with tomato and cheese...show them how to cook it also...
I just Texas Country Reporter wish there were more shows like you I watch you on R F D T V love every story you all do. This one remains be of my mother in law’s country story in GA breakfast/ lunch few grocery / Gas people setting around a stove telling tails some true some make up miss it keep your story coming LOVE ALL

We have a few places like this around here. They don't have everything and the prices are higher but I'll gladly do my shopping there than anywhere else. Folks need to take care of their communities more than ever nowadays. Friends mean more than money any day of the week. And So Be It!
Places such as these should continue.
I don’t understand how this channel isn’t huge. 9 out of 10 of the videos are awesome and really I think show what Texas is all about.
YT promotes what they want just like twitter, and if its not Drama Related etc forget it...
Watching from Sydney and although I’ve been to Austin Texas I would loved to have visited the country towns in Texas. The hospitality and food looks awesome!

I grew up going to H&H grocery when I was a kid now it's a landmark that's gone from Waxahachie it is now a tattoo shop and just a fond memory
I come from rural NH and there's many place like this where all the locals go!
This reminds me of the small town where I grew up, the store, bar, pool hall and dance hall were all in one building, called the little red store!

I dont know a lot of these business owners close their doors just pick up and go to another place, most are stubborn and afraid to make that change smh
It's nice to know these kind of business are still up and running... this is one memory of the South that I miss experiencing from time to time.

I love the stories about these home town stores and restaurants.Makes me want to move to Texas.
I luv these small stores shame they usually close down.
:( we had a diner that had been around since the 30s but the owner died and his wife closed it down. We only got a few more of them kinds around here and i hope they last my life time.....

I’m from the West Coast of Canada yet I find myself falling in love with these videos. In BC small diners grocers and cafes like these are found in every town but sadly they are fading away. Someday I hope to open a BBQ drive in joint using ingredients grown/raised on my own farm at one of these side of the highway stops on long drives.

been a working Cowboy on the family ranch in Wichita Falls , a surfer , fisherman and live aboard Yacht owner on Padre Island for the past 30 yrs. owned a s**T load of hot rods and exotic sports cars , a wild a*s Cowboy that loves everything Traditional Texas , have always frequented local classic establishments , Snapkas drive in , Astor restaurant , Gates donuts , Hamlin pharmacy grill etc , i will continue to strive to maintain everything Texas Heritage

Just what I need in my day, a little TCR for a good reason to get off of the interstate highways to stop and enjoy life a little bit. And yet, come to find, it’s a closed business. Unfortunate. People are too busy to stop and enjoy the simple things.

Google Maps (street view), Captured Feb 2021, shows this place, now with garage doors to the left and right of the entry door, is closed. Sad! Sounds like the demolition and replacement of US Hwy 77 killed them off.

my grandma Bonnie (yates) denton/her mother was Sallie Huskins who's parents were from western north carolina in cherokee County in the Murphy area.
Looks like it was a great place, but unfortunately it is permanently closed.
