If you hear Pitssburgh at the beginning of the video, then yes, it wasn't your ears playing tricks on you. But the flight was to Plattsburgh, I chose the airport from a map, not from a list, so I was not flying to the wrong place, I was just talking nonsense. Sorry about that.

Don't use VNAV for your descent?

ATC told me to drop 5000' a few minutes before calculated TOD, so I started descent in VS. Then I got vectored off the planned route, so from then on VNAV wouldn't even work as far as I know. However when I was told to resume own navigation towards BTV I turned it on
