Batman & Robin: Tim Burton Cut [Fanedit]

- NO, IT'S NOT REAL. What if Tim Burton was commissioned by WB to recut Batman & Robin? Is it possible to right the wrongs? Can the 1997 turd be polished? Or is it just the same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel?
I've been wanting to try making a darkened trailer since I started fan-editing in 2009. Most of Batman And Robin[1997] is useless to give it any sense of seriousness, but this was my best shot (without cutting in to 30 seconds!). It still looks pretty silly though- Dammit!

With the Schumacher's style but with Burton's colours
I think that would only bring it up to 20-30 percent on rotten tomatoes because you still have the writing and the casting.
That was epic! :O Loved the gloomy coloring and the badass music, also that end shot of Batman standing in the snow looked nice. PLEASE recut the whole film this way LOL, great work again!
There are too many goddamn characters in this movie
One thing that could have improved Batman and Robin was Freeze and Ivy clashing after realizing their plans were incompatible. Ivy's stupidity when she said "Once you have frozen mankind these babies will overrun the globe." was laughable.The fact that she didn't realize that her mutated plants would die if Freeze froze the world showed how stupid she was.
There was one guy who had cut the first 20 minutes or so of the movie into two 5-minute videos entitled "Batman: Ice Inferno". It looked kind of like this but used Hans Zimmer music from the Nolan films. He planned it to be a full fledged edit that I was really pumped for but it got removed from RUclips. When I emailed him about it, he said he no longer had the files. :(
If he did make B&R he'd probably cast Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham-Carter in all the roles!
Then again, Michael Keaton would not have left the role.

You actually made it seem like a good film could be salvaged from that mess even if there is still a lot of inherent goofiness still intact. Good work.

Not bad! The removal of the neon colors (and one-liners) certainly helps. Have you ever seen any of the fan re-edits of the film? There is one called "Batman & Robin: De-Assified" that attempts to do to the whole movie what you essentially did with this trailer. I think the whole film runs about 60 minutes, lol.
Why so serious?.... Because that's what Batman movies ARE! Amazing what turning down the colors a bit and giving some epic music can do. Great work. :)
I want to see a Batman movie with a portrayal of Mr. Freeze that's EXACTLY like his Batman TAS portrayal.
That was, simply put, impressive. If I ever get around to doing a full-on fanedit of this movie, I'll probably draw some stylistic inspiration from this.
The only line in the trailer that wasn't well-acted was Batgirl's, but I can forgive that in light of everything else.
By the way, one of the coolest parts was that none of the shots you used for Bane made his muscles look fake. Nicely done!
batman forever can stay as it is, but batman and robin definitely need a lot of editing

Some things just can’t be fixed and Batman and Robin is one of them. The only way it could work is if Robin, Batgirl, Poison Ivy and Bane were removed then maybe just maybe it could work.
But then there’s still the matter of George Clooney who is dreadfully miscast as Batman.
Like I say something’s just can’t be fixed. And somethings should be left buried. Both of which are the fate of Batman and Robin.
I would say, "Challenge accepted," but I'd already well-developed the idea before I read your comment. I plan to basically overhaul the entire movie (what else can I do?). It won't be a perfect film (Batgirl still has to deliver important lines with terrible delivery, for example), but, in my mind's eye, it's a vast improvement.
There's a full length version some one did a fan edit for Batman Forever called Batman Forever Red Book Edition it's really well made.

There are a few great shots, but it's hard to carve a story out of the movie that doesn't look as silly as the movie itself. I think I found all the 'tolerable' shots here; making a trailer was a small challenge, but if you're gonna recut the whole movie - I look forward to the job you do. Music might help, but colouring and cropping will benefit you most! Good luck!
the movie was awful, and u just made it amazing. someone please go back and recut the movie or something to make it like this. in fact, i like the whole nightwing thing. it would take a while, but it would be so cool if u went back and cut the movie so that it was a GOOD batman movie. great work as always by the way!
Well done. But if you think it still looks silly, here's a bit of advice: get rid of Batgirl, Poison Ivy, and maybe even Bane. Make it just be Batman and Robin against Mr. Freeze. I might also take some Mr. Freeze lines from Batman: The Animated Series to make Freeze look a bit less campy.
Not even a Tim Burton cut could save this movie
this is the first time I have ever looked at anything to do with this film and liked it. In order to re cut the whole movie to make it not absolutly terrible this movie would be less than 20 minutes long. great job though but knowing how bad that movie really is, I just cant get over it.

They should've kept Val Kilmer if he didn't work on The Saint, get someone else to play Freeze, do use Bane or Batgirl in the film

Burton was good and I think he didn't like much Robin so he walked out when it was supposed to appear. Bane is back with Nolan and no Robin yet!I think that Nolan will walk out before Robin appears again lol

@RangerRed3000 - LOL! If that were possible, it would be similar to this, but by the time I'd picked my Nolan-esque shots, there'd be like 5 shots left and no dialogue! But, yeah, I DID think about it before.

This fan edit was very cool. Excuse the ice pun, I think we have heard enough of them already. But the fact of the matter is: The film is so badly written and shot, that the greatest editor in the world couldn't salvage it. You can't turn shit into gold can you?

The greatest crime in cinema history? Please. Why do these film types always churn out the same guff? To impress the big wigs they want to be like? People may not like the movie (I personally adore it and would have loved this trailer if not for the insult), but the worst movie ever? Nonsense.
