Bay Leaves Mixed With Cloves | Boost Immunity And Fight Inflammation
Both bay leaves and cloves are known for their culinary uses and pleasant aroma, but what can sometimes be overlooked is how incredibly powerful their health promoting abilities can be. A simple recipe to get the benefits of bay leaves and cloves is to boil each ingredient in a pot and let simmer for ten minutes, let cool and them simply consume the liquid. You can also use both to enhance many healthy recipes. Now, lets discuss the health benefits of consuming bay leaves together with cloves.
1. First, both bay leaves and cloves offer many important nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Bay leaves are packed with manganese, iron, vitamin A, vitamin B6, calcium and vitamin C. They are also packed with fibre and have tremendous anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Cloves are also packed with essential nutrients. They are packed with manganese and vitamin K, as well as vitamin C, calcium, magnesium and vitamin E. Cloves are also an amazing source of dietary fibre, antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds.
2. Combining and consuming bay leaves and cloves can also reduce inflammation throughout the entire body. Bay leaves are a great inflammation fighter such they can inhibit enzymes that trigger inflammation while also containing compounds that can specifically reduce inflammation. Bay leaves all contain cineole, which studies have shown can reduce inflammation and inflammatory responses. Cloves are also an amazing inflammation reducing spice. This is attribute to their rich amount of antioxidants that can eliminate free radicals and prevent oxidative stress. As well, cloves contain a unique compounds known as eugenol, a potent antioxidants that can specifically fight inflammation.
3. Consuming bay leaves and cloves can also help to naturally boost our immune system and reduce the risk of infections. Bay leaves are well known for their anti-fungal properties and studies show that they can reduce certain infections that can weaken the immune system. The incredible antibacterial compounds and high levels of nutrition in bay leaves can also boost our immune system and reduce chronic disease. Cloves are also great for boosting the immune system and ensuring its proper function. Studies have shown that cloves have antimicrobial properties along with antibacterial abilities that can promote immune system function and reduce illness and even chronic diseases, such as cancer.
4. Lastly, consuming bay leaves and cloves can have important health benefits for those individuals with diabetes or those at risk of developing diabetes. Studies shown that bay leaves can be especially helpful for those individuals with type 2 diabetes, can play an important role in glucose metabolism and also regulate blood sugar levels. Cloves are also helpful in this regard. The compounds found in cloves have shown that they can help keep blood sugar in control. These important compounds in cloves can help to increase the recreation of insulin and improve the functioning of cells that produce insulin.

I've had clove tea a few times, but don't care for it. Still wanting its benefits, I tried putting one or 2 cloves in a tea infuser with a portion of peppermint tea leaves. That worked well. I think that I will add half a bay leaf to the mix. 😊
