    Great stage. Loved seeing what looks like a dolmen. At 9.03 into the video ( the big rock sitting on top of the others) dolmens are old burial places from pre historic times. We have them here in Ireland, interesting to see one in France.

    I just love the quotes you select for all your episodes. They seem so inspired and always fit your stages perfectly. This stage looks very mystical somehow, with the cave and the winding forest pathways and that really cool dolmen you got a shot of. Absolutely magical. Your footage makes me feel like I'm there, it's so good.

    Toujours intéressant. Je ne connais pas cette partie. J'ai fait la voie du Célé et celle de Rocamadour.

    Thank you for another wonderful video of a really long day. The technical challenges are always there, but you seem to manage them greatly. Batteries seem to be a weak spot, always.

      When my old phone is tracking all day 30 km seem to be the limit.

    i will definitely have to do the Via Podiensis after seeing your videos so far.
    I will take your advice to start in Saint-Jean Pied de Port and finish in Le Puy, it definatly makes more sense.

    I was really looking forward to this one and your upcoming videos because I didn’t walk these stages. I took the Célé Valley variant which was my favorite of my entire Le Puy Camino. But I’m planning on walking it again so I’m very interested in seeing if it’s worth going this route next time. As usual, this video was great!!!

      I've heard the Célé Valley variant is much prettier but I didn't know about at the time.

      Yes, the Célé is fantastic. I hear the Rocamadour is as beautiful or better. I plan to walk part of Le Puy again this fall and stop in different villages than my first time. I plan to take the Rocamadour variant. I’ll let you know how I found that one. It looks amazing.

      @Efren, the Célé Valley is just spectacular. So sorry you missed it. I would love to see your videos from there. You just walk on the cliffs, with incredible stone villages embedded in the rocks. You can make one day stage canoeing in the canyon instead of walking. You can visit Grotte du Pech Merle - one of the most striking Ice Age cave art sites still open to the public. You can walk an abandon railway bridge hanging over the river. You can also visit one of the most beautiful villages in France (even though standards are set high in France, this one is honestly breathtaking) - Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. On the way to this village you walk the path cut in the stone for the horses to haul the boats. I strongly suggest that if you are back in France one day just do the 5 days there and add this variant to the series. You will thank me later ;). And of course - I love your stories, love seeing the world with your eyes. Thank you so much.

    Great video, Thank you! the forest looks amazing, reminded me even of Galicia. Did you actually just book all the places you stop in advance according to GRONZE? I reckon the walking times you give are the times you actually move without the breaks? Just checked at GRONZE, most of the smaller villages also have Gites, that's good. You know I'm planing to walk here this summer and I usually walk about 20-25 on my caminos, could do a 30 every now and then, but not regularily (given my age and the time needed for the body to recover). Do you think it is feasibel on this camino to walk shorter stages and find good accomodation and food?

    • @Walk_with_Efren
      @Walk_with_Efren  2 года назад +1

      You can definitely walk shorter stages. The 30 km stages where easier due to the favorable tamerrain. I did book everything in advance and I'm glad I did. It gave me peace of mind and did I mention I don't speak French? In most gites no one spoke English. The language barrier was real. As for the time it was overall including the breaks.

      Hi, Verena! If you're on FB, check out the FB Group for the Via Podiensis. You can find shorter stages there from lots of members. I've had my stages for this route mapped out for almost two years now (was going to go this year; didn't happen. Did Efren's exact Senda Litoral in Portugal instead, which was also mind-blowing). While most of my planned stages are shorter than Efren's, watching his vlog is giving me the chance to custom tailor my stages even better, because I can literally see what I have to look forward to elevation-wise, etc, in his videos. I'm sooo glad I waited to go and he went first! :)

      now that I have walked the via Podiensis u, unless you are walking to Santiago, I would recommend you walk it in reverse. Start in Saint-Jean-pied-de-port and finish it in Le Puy-en-valey. Start in the plains and make your way to the mountains. it will get more beautiful with every passing day.
