    Thank you for your tips. I am LOVING the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. I am 72 years old and have been wearing concealer since I was a teenager. I have very dark under eye circles, always have (hereditary). I have tried every and I do mean every concealer, both drugstore and high end. Nothing seems to fully cover and seems to melt away. Powders always looks cakey and accentuate lines. I decided to try MAC after viewing one of your RUclips videos. It’s probably the only brand I’ve never used. Before I apply the concealer, I use MAC under eye cream and MAC eye primer and then a corrector, waiting a few minutes between applying each product.Thanks to you, I’ve finally found my concealer and don’t know why no one mentions it on RUclips. Thank you, Lisa!!❤

    Wow this was an absolutely phenomenal video Lisa. I’ve been struggling so much with my dark circles. I have a lot of lines and nothing is working for me anymore. The dark bruise and light pantyhose analysis was BRILLIANT. Excellent excellent job! I learned so much even as a makeup artist myself.

    Thank you Lisa, love your videos. I’m an aesthetician & I notice many, in fact most, tutorials showing application of products under the eye, incorrectly. You should never swipe from the nose to the outer eye when applying anything. You should always apply products from the outer corner of the eye, toward the nose. The reason is that the muscles under that very delicate skin are attached to the bone on the inner corner of the eye. When you swipe away from where the muscle is connected, you loosen & pull the muscle, causing sagging & wrinkling. Always swipe toward the nose in the under eye area, and away from the nose on the upper eyelids.

      I dont swipe but I tap my product in under the eye but away from the nose. Is that also bad or is it only if you swipe? I've always been terrified to rub or swipe

    • @amymcginty6634
      @amymcginty6634 7 месяцев назад

      @@ashleybullard1285 Try using the pointed end of a small, damp beauty blender to tap it in. Tap back & forth until it’s blended. Tapping it in is definitely better than swiping. 🥰

    I feel like I’m doing what you recommend but I ALWAYS end up with what looks like flaky skin under my eyes! Am I using too much product or not letting things set properly before adding another product?

    • @teresacurdy4438
      @teresacurdy4438 7 месяцев назад +2

      I am the same way. No matter how I prep my under eyes and whatever concealer I use, as soon as I put it on (in a patting motion with my finger or a concealer brush) I end up with flaky looking skin under my eyes, and it looks so bad I have to remove it. But I really need concealer in this area due to darker veins in the corner of my eyes and uneven pigmentation underneath my eyes. I’ve tried it using very little concealer, but it still happens. Any suggestions Lisa?

    Lisa, my under eye issue is the "hollow" shadow that my eye bags create. I try to conceal the hollow with a corrector first. At that point, would you follow with concealer in the hollow only? I don't feel I have any darkness under my eyes otherwise. I would love your recommendation. Thanks so much!! Great tips!!

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Debbie! Yes, in your case a brighter concealer might help as it will make that area putrude more and look less hollow- that is to say if there isn’t darkness there otherwise

    I have yet to find a setting powder that doesn’t darken my concealer. I can color correct, used a hydrating brightening concealer and as soon as I powder set, it erases all the work I just did. Even some foundation powders will darken my eye concealer. Banana powder, brightening powders, translucent, lighter foundation powder, givenchy, and huda pink powder.. all haven’t worked. The only thing that kind of works is NYX no filter finishing powder in porcelain.. and that’s getting hard to find. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? Sending love

    Lisa, what is your opinion on color correctors as far as how to choose shade. I always use a peach but it never works. I use good concealers but they don't help much with darkness since correctors aren't neutralizing the dark. I came across an influencer that said you should choose the shade based on how dark your circles are, not your skin tone. I'm beginning to think that's true since peach never works for me. Do you recommend a particular luxury product?

    Hi sweet Lisa. Thank you, as always, for some great tips. Being over a certain age, my undereyes are always dry. Your tips are quite helpful. I can't stand a rich undereye cream. Seems like they irritate my eyes.
    I definitely agree about an undereye corrector. I have a peachy/red discoloration under my eyes vs dark circles, so I try to use a cooler corrector. What would you suggest? Of course, I can't have normal dark circles. It's frustrating.
    Love the idea of bringing the concealer up on the outer corners of the eyes for a lifting effect.
    Thanks Lisa. Have a wonderful Sunday!❤🥰❤

    In the beginning of the video, your face looks very even toned... supposedly without makeup. As a woman in my early 40s, this is highly unrealistic. Please show us a video of your completely bare face....as in no tinted moisturizers, creams, correctors, concelaers, and foundations. No product whatsoever on your face. I also noticed RUclips influencers exaggerating their dark under eye circles with makeup products....which makes them a FRAUD...they dont represent real people.

  • @allmycarsisbroke

    Great tips and I really appreciate you making this video. But let's be honest, your face doesn't have anything worth hiding--I didn't see any dark circles before you started! But I'm not gonna hold it against you for being pretty and perfect. 😄
    I won't say my age, but I googled yours (sorry!) and I'm exactly 1 month younger than you. I'd kill to have skin as healthy and flawless as yours, but unfortunately I haven't yet found a way to transmogrify a murder victim into a more beautiful face for myself, so instead of killing I'm settling for the next best thing: makeup. And it just so happens that my biggest area of need is under my eyes.
    Being a dude (a straight one if it matters), I would argue that it's considerably more important for my ego and my reputation that I learn to apply it properly. With your help, I hope to avoid looking like I hired Tammy Faye Bakker to apply my makeup with nothing more than leather mittens and a prayer.
    Wish me luck!
