    Review:
    I've never seen an absolute origin digital caliper with built in wireless or Bluetooth connectivity, so I was excited to get my hands on this. It is very similar in size, weight and shape to the iGaging CoolantCal, which also has built in wireless, but that one is not absolute origin.
    While not as light and nimble in the hands as my favorite iGaging OriginCal that I reviewed years back (and is still my top pick for the best caliper for the money). It is smoother and more accurate than many of the others I have tested. My only real complaint about the design is the plastic housing protrudes past the jaws so measuring an object at the top of the jaws will not lead to an accurate measurement because you will be hitting the plastic housing. This could, and probably will be fixed in production in the near future knowing iGaging though. If they fix that and make this one coolant-proof, they would probably start outselling Mitutoyo on the coolant proof caliper front.
    Check out the Original OriginCal which is still my top pick:

    I like the measurements. After years of reading lies about calipers it’s nice to see complete measurements done. Especially at different positions within the jaws. Thanks!

    Just got mine in the mail as we speak. Dude, this is fantastic. Thank you for making this review (that's why I bought it). I would love if it didn't hit "enter" after the input. I get why, but when you're in Fusion 360, trying to create rectangles, it hits enter and then leaves me with just one main measurement. :P Hope you can get another one. Thanks again!

    Hello. I just received an IGaging Smart OriginCal 6" caliper (100-700-B06). Problem: it does not transmit numerical values but alpha gibberish... Test on Android spreadsheets (Google Sheets/ Microsoft 365/ Excel) both on my smartphone and on PC Unable to transmit numeric values, what should I do?
    Details :
    - when connecting to my smartphone (Samsung A52 Android 13), two devices appear ("Bluetooth Keyboard" and "Digital Tools"),
    - Digital Tools, in settings: "an application is required to use this device";
    - Bluetooth Keyboard, in settings: "text input"/ if off, disconnection...
    Is the caliper faulty? What to do ?

    It works perfectly on all of my devices expect my desktop. It just stops working after a couple minutes. I assume this is an issue with my bluetooth adapter.

    Now I know which factory makes the Moore & Wright calipers. Or at least some of them. The same one that makes these igaging calipers. I already commented on your previous video. The fractional Igaging was identical to the Moore & Wright fractional caliper, well your included battery branding is the same as the one included in the Moore & Wright Digitronic caliper I picked up the other week. Too many coincidences.

    • @GadgetClass

      When you press the measure button, it automatically presses enter to feed the next cell. You can set what this does in your spreadsheet app to go down or to the right.

    Hi, I have the iGaging ABSOLUTE ORIGIN caliper and I was thinking on buying the data cable, until I saw the Bluetooth dongle in one of your videos. Now I need to use it on a PC, not a tablet or phone, but it's not clear to me if it works or not on a PC . Can you help me out before buying cause the dongle it's much cheaper than the SPC cable.

    I need a digital caliper without a thumbwheel and which you can move pretty smooth and without any pressure.
    I have to measure some synthetic substances and with any pressure the measurement would be wrong.
    Any suggestions?

    • @GadgetClass
      @GadgetClass  6 лет назад

      Tatsu All calipers can be used without the thumb wheel. The thumb wheel actually allows for very precise movements which is what you want with a soft material. The iGaging Absolute Origin is still my top pick. Once you get one in your hand and start measuring, you will quickly get the hang of measuring things of various harnesses.

    I have this exact model and I have it bluetooth linked to my Samsung Galaxy S10 and using excel to try to enter the data. I have a problem when I click the enter button it will enter the measurement and act as if it is hitting enter twice thereby making an entry and then skipping a row. Another problem is that this double entry from the ip54 is not consistently happening. So every once in a while it will make the entry and go to the next row down as I'd like it to.. Any ideas? Thanks

    I have the 12"/300mm version of this caliper.
    I can only pair to mobile devices like a phone or tablet.
    When pairing with my computer, windows always does ask for a pincode witch you don't need acording to the manual and someone from the helpdesk.
    So my question:
    Does someone know how to pair the caliper with windows 10?
