Very informative comparison! Seeing a 40-year degradation is more interesting than the typical 25-30 year metrics we see

Thanks, I figured since Maxeon is offering a 40-year extended warranty on their panels it would be a good idea to look at what the other panels would degrade to over that amount of time. The solar industry has some of the most extensive warranties compared to anything else we buy. You remodel your kitchen 1-year warranty, buy a refrigerator 1-year warranty, how about a car or truck 10-years at best. The fact that solar panels come with such an incredibly long term warranty should be enough to go "hey, they probably don't fail all that much". lol

Do you use bifacials, what do you like in that format?
I ask because I’m considering a pergola carport (ChikoUSA has solar specific frame), which seems like a classic bi use case

These are very impressive panels...but they also cost almost twice as much. You may have better prices as a distributer/installer. But I've seen Aptos panels go for $120 a panel on some sites (which are decent panels- maybe not as efficient- but when you are talking 1-2%+/- does it really make that much of a difference?)

Cross-check the net cost of the Jinko panel

Purchase price is less then both QCELLS and REC so the tax credit is less too since it’s based on the purchase price

Thank you for pointing out the error, I went ahead and adjusted the video.

Go with cheapest ones. No one knows what deg is 40 years from now. It's all speculation. So why not go with the cheapest that has the best 1st year deg....since in 10 years like all fast moving tech- it's likely obsolete. The new ones in 10 years will be twice as good, half the cost.
