My favorite thing about this is that these are not aliens, nor are they ancient, mystical, primordial beings. They are just an existing species on earth. It’s not like there’s just one of these things for a couple of them, they are a whole ass species that lives all around the world. I freaking love that!

Love stories like this, I'm surprised wendigoon hasn't made a video on this as it reminds me of the flesh pit (a living, organic cave system turned into a tourist attraction). Would love to see more like this, you got yourself another subscriber my parasocial friend lol
I think the prince stories, the quote “grow food” could be really important in that humanity farmed crawl, possibly giving a good environment for the nodes to develop, making more of the separate species. The other species, specifically the ones that prey on humans (e.g mimic, host) were specifically made by the crawl. It goes like this, the crawl started out spreading itself, eventually, it evolved making nodes, leading into the making the trimming. they are scavengers, that being the safest survival type. humans found the crawl, and started to farm it, and interact with it. The crawl, sees an opportunity to use humanity and animal life to their advantage, It made meat snakes, they can consume bigger things, making it less vulnerable than the trimming, while staying a scavenger, as it eats dead things. The crawl most likely observed everywhere, forests, cities, wherever it grew. Then it made a few more based on separate environments.. The mimic for highly populated areas to stalk and feed on humans. The harvesters to feed on mostly animals, as it lays dormant primarily in forests. And the host of influence as a passive food source, as a lot of people wouldn’t assume somebody walking as infection, and there are no huge visual effects. It seems like all of these creatures have different roles, some killing primarily or only human, or some killing animals. The crawl seems to be one of the closest reasons of these creatures developing. Depending on its environment, and what it “sees” it adapts, which is why mimics stay in populated areas, etc etc. I’m not touching on the monoliths or the singularity as they haven’t been fleshed out enough for me to have a theory (no pun intended).
I don't know if anyone has made this comparison yet, but this reminds me a lot of Gemini Home Entertainment. It has the same concept of a monster-like species using humans as their main source of food/shelter, but the storyline and lore are vastly different from Vita Carnis. Analog horror like this gives me both chills and this uncomfortable feeling I can't seem to shake.
love seeing vita carnis getting the attention it deserves, yeah it seems a little janky at first glance but you can tie it all together! very nuch appreciated for the video!
this was a great type of video, this is the first video i’ve seen of yours and it was randomly recommended to me. No regrets, the style the video was formatted in and the way you let things play while not exposing everything every second while still giving inputs was engaging. good job, i look forward to more of your content!
If I’m being honest the mimic thing It wouldn’t even have to kill me, I would literally just shoot myself. I’m not going down to that horror plot of a monster
This is the video that got me into analog horror, and now I'm a die hard fan of multiple series and i have a trimming plush named 'Mr. Meatball'. This video is like a comfort show to me, keep up the good work!
i don't think it's intentional, but after rewatching this i realized how much the style of these introductory videos stuck with me. the background ombre and red silhouettes in particular, they're very recognizable and memorable. it's very distinctive of the series, i absolutely love it
In the mimic's video it says a weapon will not bring it down 'In time.' Meaning you can shoot it , but it's resilient enough to bleed out slowly compared to its prey
@@tenkoshimura4882 I wonder if people in their world actively hunt Vita Carnis...I mean they are basically perfect meat to eat. Just go out killing Vita Carnis and sell them at the supermarket. I can imagine Vita Carnis Meat Burgers 😋
The prince is probably the singularity, they could’ve fed it by throwing stuff into it, they helped it because it developed crawl, which was good for life so they thought it’d help them.
My problem is they underestimate two things concerning the mimic and that’s 1. They highly underestimate how well armed some people are like I doubt a mimic could tank a few shots of 30-06 and 2. Historically humanity has repeatedly banded together to annihilate predators so the moment a modern predator species like a mimic appears there would definitely be local forces whose sole job is to hunt down and kill mimics the moment they appear
Army even. And they'd probably cut it off at the source as well, deal with the crawl, either destroying it or massively restricting and supervising it's growth and proliferation
Most people on planet earth do not have a 30-06. Even today people prioritise their own safety/comfortability over general improvement to other people, and those with the most power and money definitely will not act out of the goodness of their own heart. Look, I’d like to believe we’re fine, but have you heard of global warming by any chance?
This is very good. I love this series. To be honest if this was real we would hunt most of these down. Like Mimics/Harvesters would be actively hunted by humans and crawl fields would be checked.
@patootie3529 Yeah, at first, they seem actually helpful to humans but the more we trusted them they mead more dangerous creatures because the first two are..... gross and just look wrong but they only eat dead things and the meat snake actually helped clean dispose of dead body from war and other places but when they mead the mimics it was too late it had to many
Kinda reminds me of that game Scorn. Its just you walking around kind of discovering what has happened to earth but there’s no one but you and all the nasty organic overgrowth all over the place, but everything about it is alive and it’s a weird game

@@nominenkhsaikhan1282 good luck with the singularity, the monoliths will suddenly emit a EMP disabling weapons and any explosives or missiles heading the singularity’s way. Bullets will only go through the monolith and these creatures, they self heal instantly like the silver surfer from marvel.
The safest area to be is towards the southern area of south america like the tail piece it avoids mimics, harvesters, and the host but also it does avoid the meat snakes as how some dislike them also to avoid the smell
Something I find *incredibly* interesting about the Singularity is that its scientific name (V. Carnis / Verum Carnis) means “truth meat” or “true meat” (Verum: Truth / True, Carnis: Meat). Could be foreshadowing…? I honestly don’t know, but it’s pretty cool.
I think that the prince started vita carnis. The island critters helped him recover, so he agreed to grow food for them. He grew the crawl, and then it started to evolve past that. Just a theory, but I think it has a good chance of being true.
Same I’m thinking that the “magic” protecting the prince just manifested along with the vita carnis and now created a more powerful barrier hence the singularity!
This is somewhat similar to the StarCraft race, called the Zerg. adaptive, evolving quickly, very intelligent, swarming prey and can hunting with extreme caution, even having different kinds of strains or units, could wipe out humanity and feast on big and powerful creatures it could find. Definitely a Zerg counterpart.
I'd love to see a part 2 to this video, the format is awesome. It's cool to have every single one in order and see you and chat's reactions. Subscribed.
I like how some of these dont actively try to harm you Sure there's the mimic and stuff but your not guaranteed to die day one unless your that reckless
i love marcus's channel bc it's unlike the other channel i watch, GT Live, where they watch videos and just talk FOREVER about unrelated things but marcus talks about what we are watching
With that Mimic tip of hiding because it doesn't linger long enough to search, maybe the person that was recording was spotted first so the Mimic knew they were there somewhere. That or Mimics generally don't search and move on until they spot someone alone.
Something interesting is the fact that the mimics turn darker when they get a lot of food and so did the meat-snake meaning that the singularity probably eats a heck ton of meat or maybe the meat vita carnis consumes is being sent somehow to the singularity idk it’s a theory
This really interests me. Instead of these creatures being contained or unable to harm us in reality like the Scp foundation and the backrooms, they are in the wild, and can get to us at any time, even in our own house. This is in my opinion, more scary to think about than either.
19:52 Marcus thank you for stating my exact theory. Because a person is watching a limited space and limitation of understanding video, they are more willing to investigate and dive deeper. Upon doing so, they become uncanny with the results and as the videos get more chilling, more eerie and psychologically unsettling things will force the mind to compress fear into pain. I also think it's scary because instead of a 3rd person horror where you know what will happen to thee character, in analogue horror, you lack just as much information as the video gives you so you're forced to investigate meaning you can relate to the character in the 1st person view as it is short and entirely limited to their view and not much can be explained that what is happening. Again, this is one the scariest sub genres of horrors due to its dreading proximity towards the viewers.
Bro, this Analogue having legit low-budget horror-movie effects makes it WAY more intense than others that are mostly still images and vaguely scary video.
Ok I think there is a way to live a long period of time. So we know the harvester is only native to the northern hemisphere and the host is in North America, The mimic looks for large populations like New York City, the monoliths seem to be in a really green and lush area. The black orb (can't remember the name) seems to also be in a forest from the picture. So I conclude to move to Australia. The mimics seem easy to avoid if you stay away from Sydney and from the map showing where the mimics reside, it looks like mimics only roam the coastal areas in Australia. And the more you move from the coast the hotter it gets. Sydney is on the coast. I feel like if you move to a smaller town, farther away from the coast but not too far into the outback. I feel like this could work. I'm up for suggestions tho
I'm obviously late to the party and here a year late because I wanted something spoky to watch, but GODDAMN the knock during the Mimic story sent my soul OUT OF MY BODY
i’ve got a theory that the vita carnis species actually we’re from another universe’s earth and the prince put a portal between our earth and their earth and the portal is the singularity and did anyone notice the words “suddenly appeared out of nowhere”?
my theory: what if the singularity isnt necessarily living, but it is instead a body shield for "the prince" so he shouldnt be harmed, and as a bonus defense, the monoliths are the more living set of defenses, that circle the singularity, simpily waiting for the prince to awake, which would most likely cause an apocalypse of even more species to be born and the current species growing to be much more aggressive
In the case of the mimics, IM SO GLAD NOT TO BE SHORT, and dear god I’d spend all my day doing what I can to make myself look dangerous (boxing and tearing stuff apart) to make myself not a target.
This shit is terrifying. This one in particular needs to be made into like a game or movie somehow because i think it would be great as a game or film. Also great video.
I remember I used to do stuff like this in school way back, those drawings and the hand writting being very childish reminded me and made me wish I was a kid in this day and age so I could make stuff like this. Not scary at all, and it's quite weak world building, but it's really nice horror for kids. Hope the creator keeps it up!

The crawl, sees an opportunity to use humanity and animal life to their advantage,
It made meat snakes, they can consume bigger things, making it less vulnerable than the trimming, while staying a scavenger, as it eats dead things.
I ain't reading all that
"If somebody else notices you and is like this dude definitely inhaled spores and gets you to a hospital"

Vita Carnis was terrifying!! I loved it. Your analysis of the story at the end was great. And dude!!!! Def part 2 please please, please!!
The prince is probably the singularity, they could’ve fed it by throwing stuff into it, they helped it because it developed crawl, which was good for life so they thought it’d help them.
I mean it's true as you can see when the prince shows his powers to the critters. It looks like its Red flesh

The prince could be symbolic for the singularity?
Same I’m thinking that the “magic” protecting the prince just manifested along with the vita carnis and now created a more powerful barrier hence the singularity!
This is somewhat similar to the StarCraft race, called the Zerg. adaptive, evolving quickly, very intelligent, swarming prey and can hunting with extreme caution, even having different kinds of strains or units, could wipe out humanity and feast on big and powerful creatures it could find. Definitely a Zerg counterpart.

@@TheBrickSquad11 that too
Something interesting is the fact that the mimics turn darker when they get a lot of food and so did the meat-snake meaning that the singularity probably eats a heck ton of meat or maybe the meat vita carnis consumes is being sent somehow to the singularity idk it’s a theory
you’re pretty underrated some of the best reactions I’ve seen in a while good job
So glad I found your channel! Loving your videos ♡

Part 2 please!!! Feels like a legit being that is here with us

"The Crawl" is what I referred to the Saturday night walk/stumble/stagger back home from the local brew pub when I was in college...
One of the most terrifying things I can imagine is someone being chased by a mimic, shooting it, and nothing happening.
imagine a harvester just spawns in your crawl farm one day and you can never go there again
my theory: what if the singularity isnt necessarily living, but it is instead a body shield for "the prince" so he shouldnt be harmed, and as a bonus defense, the monoliths are the more living set of defenses, that circle the singularity, simpily waiting for the prince to awake, which would most likely cause an apocalypse of even more species to be born and the current species growing to be much more aggressive
Watching this at night during a thunderstorm and in a dark room goes hard.
In the case of the mimics, IM SO GLAD NOT TO BE SHORT, and dear god I’d spend all my day doing what I can to make myself look dangerous (boxing and tearing stuff apart) to make myself not a target.
It said “it will grow a thick,-“ I DID NOT HEAR THICK I HEARED A D
