Great video! Learning to fly the ATR on MSFS now and wanted to automate the approach as I do in other airliners. Trying it out now en route to LFBD from LFKB.
HI, Thx for your nice tutorials. Could you elaborate on the VNAV mode and APP mode : both does not show up on the PFD so we do not know if actually they are armed or not ... What is the real function of VNAV ? When should we use it ? How and when can we arm it so that we can actually see it "armed" on the PFD ? You see that I am a bit confused with this mode, and I must not be the only one, knowing there is no documentation for this MS aircraft. Kind regards
Thanks for this, cleared a few things up for me. Does anyone know if RNAV approaches are bugged? I can't seem to get the AP to capture the slope at all. I can follow the slope down manually but if I'm flying straight and level with approach armed the aircraft just powers straight on through, (though it has improved my landings after a steep descent :D )
Just bought the plane. For some reason LNAV won't engage it very briefly flashes like it is engage but then switches to Heading Select. AP doesn't follow route even though it's programmed into the FMS. No FLPN Discontinuity either.
Open the "VFR MAP" input the IATA of your destination in the search bar. Once you select your airport, you'll see your ILS frequencies towards the bottom of the page.
On the FMS, press the "RMS" button. Go to NAV (in the FMS menu) and then dial the ILS frequency next to NAV1. Later, make sure the autopilot source knob is turned from "FMS" to "V/ILS". Only then, the APP button will work and capture the ILS.
Lmao that trim sound reminds me of Namco’s mascot also, I swear looking at EFIS screen will show a yellow dot chomping dots and fruit 🍒🍋 across the screen!
The aircraft is seriously going under the glide slope. If there is no visibility, that can get you into trouble, especially on a difficult, uneven terrain...
I think they broke that after the last update. Normally we flip both NAV1 & NAV2 switches and it captures the ILS automatically, that no longer works now. It used to have a blue light and a nice tone when going down the ILS slope, all gone now. v1.0.20
I know you are very good and appreciate the tutorial. But, either I’m too slow on the uptake or your delivery is too fast to understand. Wish you’d slow down to 33 1/3 from 78 RPM… 😳😉
You make great videos & tutorials - Appreciate it alot! I thought "3000A" ment "Above" ? doesnt it? Also, why did it get to low on the appr when on AP? Systems fault? Thanks, David.
I've been looking for this sort of help. Thank you. Really appreciate it. Excellent video.

GREAT flight. Love that turbulence! !! !!!
During descent, after VNAV was activated, why the FMA shows ALT* instead of VNAV PATH

You may be switched in to the ILS mode on the knob next to the course knob, switch to FMS #1 very easy mistake to make and hard to see.
I thought I was doing something wrong - the plane falls below the Glide Slope on approach forcing me to disengage Auto Pilot. A bug perhaps ?
sure it is!
Where do you get these VOR and ILS frequencies from?
if you don't have navigraph, you can use little navmap

whith vor OR RNP ?
how do you enter the ILS frequency, could you time stamp that for me?

@@petermuller5800 ooooh I see, thank you for your explanation now I understand why I never managed to capture the ILS

You don’t have to click approach. It does it automatically.

Enabling "Terrain" slows down frame rate dramatically.
