This movie travesty the memory of Napoleon Bonapart, pictured him like the Anglo-saxon propaganda of that time.
The strategic mind and lover soul he was, was impressive. France was lucky to have such a man commanding it.

В фильме ОТЛИЧНЫЙ визуал и изумительная актëрская игра. Батальные сцены самобытны и реалистичны, так что зритель не теряется в происходящем. Сценарий хорошо раскрывает исторический контекст и взаимоотношения между персонажами. Фильм чередует события между сражениями, политическими интригами и любовными линиями, таким образом, заскучать во время просмотра НЕВОЗМОЖНО физически. Главный герой вовсе не ничтожество, а рассудительный, исполнительный, целиустремленный, расчетливый, холоднокровный и амбициозный человек. Наполеон не из тех, кто легко сдаëтся. Он из бедной семьи и поэтому знает, что фартуна не достанется человеку, если тот не возьмëт еë в свои руки. Он отлично командует артиллерией и хорошо разбирается в тактике. В битве за Тулон в его лошадь попадает пушечное ядро, но Наполеон не колеблясь ведëт солдат в атаку, что очень многое говорит о его силе воли.
Многие люди упустили основную мысль фильма, а именно, что не бывает всесильных людей, Наполеон талантливый, но всё же человек, и следовательно - неидеален. Он решает судьбы тысяч людей, меняет карту Европы, но в то же время режется бритвой и забывает шляпу перед свиданием. Ему не чужды эмоции и романтика, и как любой человек, герой Хоакина Феникса снидаем страстями: похотью, гордыней, высокомерием, ревностью. Добравшись до невиданных высот, Наполеон забыл о главном, а именно о том, что он такой же человек как все, и даже его возможностям есть предел. Наполеон подлетел слишком близко к солнцу, и оно сожгло его. Наполеон очерствел из-за власти и стал жертвой своих амбиций. Основная мысль фильма лучше всего прослеживается в битве под Ватерлоо, где Наполеон с сарказмом приказывает солдатам остановить дождь.
Вот, что я имею ввиду, когда говорю, что Наполеон 2023 - воистину Великое Кино.
Тем, кому кажется, что Хоакин Феникс лишен харизмы Наполеона скажу следующее:
Когда герой Хоакина Феникса оказывается на острове Эльба, то он бросает вызов своей судьбе и берëт своë по праву. Его возвращение не увенчалось успехом, но Наполеон не бездействовал. Герой Хоакина Феникса не стал мириться с унижением и хотя бы попытался что-то изменить. Таким образом герой Хоакина Феникса в очередной раз проявляет силу воли и стойкость своего характера. С исторической точки зрения картина очень недоставерна, но основную суть тех событий создатели передали довольно точно. Сама же личность Императора Франции перенесена на экран без изменений. Все те жизненные трудности с которыми столкнулся Наполеон Бонапарт и черты его характера нашли воплощение в актëрской игре Хоакина Феникса. Как я уже сказал, в картине много исторических неточностей, но это ХУДОЖЕСТВЕННОЕ произведение, а не документальное. Я настоятельно рекомендую посмотреть этот фильм каждому здравомыслящему человеку, уделите ему всë нужное для этого внимание, оно того стоит. Я просмотрел этот фильм за один вечер и ни о чем не жалею.

@@Geojr815 He took a post revolution France and turned into the biggest military power in the world. He was a political and military genius while his country was economically powerful at the time. Not to mention that he spread revolutionary ideas across the world. He was definitely a legendary leader.

French and English often intermarry. How can they can be different? The same with English and French with Italians, Germans, Nordics - they often intermarry.
They proved how bad they were at military service in World War II.
This movie should either have been planned as a trilogy or not made at all. If I had not read a lot about Napoleon and the major battles of the Napoleonic Wars I would have had a very hard time making sense of all the disjointed scenes, and events without buildup. I regret spending the money.

Imagine If he didn't attack Russia, WW1 may have never occurred, or at least as we know it.
Europe would still be governed today by a Bonaparte.
Without the loss of the Grande Armée in Russia, France would have remained invincible.
Probably not. Holding all of the Europe by pure force was an impossible task on long term. Everything collapse at the first sign of defeat or weakness in 1911 (Austria, Spain, Prussia ...). Even in dealing peace with UK, it would have been really tough to maintain control. @@MrTwentycent90

@@loyalpiper Words come cheap. Napoleon was a drama queen. The interesting thing is: We have next to all of Napoleon's letters from the 1796 campaign to his wife. Why? Because Josephine apparently all kept them as souvenirs, as something close to her heart. - On the other side, we have none of her answers (and we know she had answered because we have Napoleon's reactions to her letters). Why? Because Napoleon obviously could not be bothered to keep the letters of the wife he claimed to love so much. When Josephine, despite being ill, finally followed Napoleon's constant begging and came to Italy (which took her about 3-4 months, not that long considering she was travelling right into a war zone that had to be secured), Napoleon spent exactly three days with her before leaving her alone in Milan and going back to war. So what precisely was the point of her coming?

Bottom line of the movie: Josephine destroyed Napoleon when she cheated on him.
But it's true. Historically proven. Napoleon didn’t cheat on her until much later when he found out she was cheating on him as she did cheat on him much earlier.
Guess that was the crux of the movie.

Phoenix was a great choice, but they made him act like a crybaby way too often, seems like some feminist shite of today
