Sounds a bit like the Stephen King story/miniseries Rose Red about a strange haunted mansion which had a life if its own to entrap its occupants. King used the Winchester Mystery House as inspiration for the haunted mansion. The house here sounds very similar.
It makes me think of a mix of that with House of Leaves. A man feeling guilt over a death he did not cause but did not prevent, measuring the home to prove there's something wrong with it, the broken relationship, etc etc
They didn't go back.. they walked for a few hours in the cold only to end up back where they started, back at the house.... He only decided to go back in the house when his daughter wasn't responding because of how cold it was
A lot of the plot elements from this such as measuring the house and it being part horror and part broken relationship story, I feel like the creators really wanted to make House of Leaves. In fact, the feeling guilt over the death of a wife that he didn't cause but didn't prevent is also verrrrry similar to Mr. Navidson feeling guilt for photographing a dying child instead of comforting her. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........
This is scary. When they were walking away from the house and she looked back to see someone in the window I was shook. It's 2023 and everyone has run out of good story plots but this one had me excited. I think this is being discredited a little bit to much. And he didn't just decide to walk back bc it was cold. The road they walked down led them right back to the house and it was cold.
@@deannaclemmer4389 YES!! finally somebody sees what I seen. Even after the "close encounter" the road changed and became narrow. The house was purgatory and he was holding his daughter there/she would go anywhere for her dad. So he had to let her go to heaven while he descends into hell. They kept saying she will go anywhere with him..
Your overthinking😂....the movie is not that deep and has absolutely no hints towards they died b4 reaching the house...his wife went and came back..if all of them was trapped in the house and couldn't leave and that's how it ended then that might of been a possibility...but as it stands your jus digging that theory right out ur ass to feel ur smart😂..sorry
5:51-6:04 This movie sounds a lot better when you put it like that. That emotional didn't translate while actually watching it. The ending felt unfinished. Maybe I would've liked it better had I not expected it to be scary or suspenseful. I appreciate that it at least was something original and not a remake or a plot that has been done a thousand times though.
The book by the same name that this is based on is roughly only 120 pages and is a succinct, engaging read. It's far more enjoyable on the page than on the screen, imo. But do what works for you, some people prefer films over books.
Sounds interesting specially for the second and third topic, also I like Amanda and Bacon so I think I should watch it. The last time I watch something with Bacon in it was in the following which had a really nice first season but went downhill after that.
Just watched this movie last night. (though 'watched' is pretty strong. Couldnt help but check my phone every couple minutes out of boredom, felt like the dang wife ha) It could of been an interesting premise but man this movie was just a slog to get through at points and it really is too bad because the 3 stories in 1 you mention all had potential but trying to fit in all three made them lose their impact (at least for me). It has its interesting moments but yeah, definitely not worth 20 dollars.
The part that lost me the most was when Amanda's character says "I'll take the kid" but then, because her husband- WHO TONS OF PEOPLE THINK IS A MURDERER- says "...no.", she doesn't even TRY to take her child away from the slightly coo coo behaving husband.
(Late reply but thought I’d give my 2 cents 😂) she did not believe he did it, like point blank she believed him. She knew SHE messed up by cheating so she left and didn’t take the daughter with her bc he was in the “right” in that situation.
i love watching the videos where you're slightly over the movie the whole time, but you still give it a good and respectful analysis while mocking it. satisfying
This ain't really related to the video but good god I had dejá vu when I saw this video pop up. I honestly thought he had already covered it because I remember what he said and I remembered what a lot of the comments said.
the written warning in his notebook is the same as his writing. the 'e's'. as it should be. also did i miss something? the wife in the tub. was she drunk? did she OD? why wouldn't going under the water shock her awake?
Sooo your saying that it's ok to have double standards as a woman but it's not ok for a man to have standards.🤔 Example a woman is 20 yrs old but she prefers a man who is 45 yrs old. But it's not ok for a man who is 45 yrs old prefer a woman who is 20 yrs old.🤔
I tried to find a horror movie to watch with my sister on Netflix but she already watched the bad ones and I know "How to win/survive" the good ones bc i spend too much time on yt xD
Can someone explain why at the ending it is now dark when we see his wife and daughter leaving the house and they look back? (Daughter sees his silhouette and says "there's someone in the house") Remember it was broad daylight when his wife came back and he confessed to her what happened and they seemingly left. How did it suddenly switch to night? And who is the man that is with his wife and daughter that said let's go as they were leaving?
He didn’t go back inside the house cause it was cold, he went back inside cause they were walking straight and they just reappeared infront of the house
Ok, it was a twist / commentary. However, it usually isn't questioned why a Kevin can be married to a much younger Amanda when Hollywood retire 40+ yo actresses to playing mothers of 20+ adults?
What’s your favorite Blumhouse flick?

None
Let Me Explain idfk
To be honest if you look past the stupidity truth or dare was a good movie
Monster house
I was just glad that amanda's and kevin's age difference was part of the plot and not just some hollywood executive's fanfic
THANK YOU OMG- I can deal with a 10 year age difference, but not a guy 30 years older thinking it’s ok and accepted by all young women😭

I actually now wanna watch this, the premise is weird but kinda compelling
It wasn’t. It had so much promise and fell very flat

The jumpscares do be stupid tho
Jump scares are the equivalent of a comedian going into the audience and tickling them, in order to get a laugh out of them.
Am I the only guy that thinks he isn't guilty he didn't overdose her he just let her drown. He didn't put her in there.
@@Teekayhuey_TK well he is still a bit of an accomplice for not having done anything, which led to her death which ... yeah makes him guilty

This movie is in no way a masterpiece but I’ve watched several movie reviews on RUclips and I think it’s overhated.
He’s holding the ruler wrong. Like that he wouldn’t even find a right angle in a square.
Wait so he’s the one watching and haunting himself. Makes sense
It's kind of like a weird time loop. Also there's another person/ entity in the house that is like him haunting him
looks ok it is good to see Bacon still getting work after so long
If Blumhouse is working on FNAF movie I wonder is it going to be a found-footage movie🐻🤖
The Tim Taylor effect at 4:28 cracks me up 😂😂😂
