What part of Leviticus 20:13 did you not read sir or how about for others wanting to know about laws Romans chapter 3 Paul made it clear that the way to salvation was not by keeping laws, try actually reading the Bible to understand it read 1 John 4:1-3, 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, Matthew 7:15-20, Roman's 16:17-18 and 2 Timothy 4:3-4 and get a hint as how serious this matter of falsely teaching the doctrine is, God knew this 2,000 years ago. Pleas people read chapter 1john 4-1-3 then refer to Leviticus 20:13 to be reassured of Gods word. As many who sin without law will perish without law and those who have sinned and keep the law will be judged by the law. Thank you for this. Are you still at Wayne State? I'm considering grad school there. Seems to me the common denominator in the Biblical stories is cruelty and inhumanity. That the aggressors rejected, at least in part, female victims doesn't really talk to their supposed lust for homosexual sex but a lust for domination and humiliation of people they didn't like. Well done.

There are a few other points you might find helpful. I was a Baptist Pastor with 6 years theological training and I am gay. In Gen 19, the Heb for "men" is enowsh and that has been translated as "people" in dozens of places. eg Ex;10:7 "Let the people go" same word. In Gen 19 it says "All the people". It refers to both. "all the people of Sodom...where are the people" Why do we say it has to be "men"?
There is only one verse in the NT that says the sins of Sodom were sexual. Jude 7. The Greek is sarkos heteras. Sarkos means "flesh" and we get out word heterosexual from heteras. The sexual sins of Sodom were heterosexual, not homosexual.
Isaiah 1 lists the sins of Sodom. Homosexuality is not even mentioned. Bit Odd?? But v17 says their sins included that they didn't look after the fatherless or widows". Questions if "ALL the "men" were gay, where did the fatherless and widows come from? There wouldn't have been any.
Ezekiel 16:49-50 says "Now this was the sin sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed, and unconcerned; They were haughty and did detestable things before me." The only possible reference to homosexuality was "detestable (abomination - same Heb word -towebah). What do the scriptures themselves say was the detestable things they did at Sodom?
Deuteronomy 29:17 has the answer. It says the idolatry was "detestable" Heb towebah" same word, and how the people of Sodom practiced idolatry. So when Ezekiel 16:49-50 says the people of Sodom did detestable things (abomination), Deut 29 explains that it was idolatry that was referred to, and NOT homosexuality.
Now... go to Deut 29:23-26. Speaking of Sodom and Gomorrah, V24 asks "Why has the Lord done this to this land?...."V 25 says "And the answer will be..." because they broke the covenant and committed idolatry..." IT WAS NOT BECAUSE OF HOMOSEXUALITY AT ALL. The Bible says so. BTW in V 24 "It says it will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah". That word "like" is not in the Hebrew. It has been inserted. He IS talking about Sodom and Gomorrah.
Another thing that does not make sense. If the bible says "ALL the 'men' of Sodom" were gay. Seriously?? Some estimate 3-4% of the people are gay, but ALL of them....come on. Not possible.

Yeah the judgement came when the gay dudes were trying to rape angels. If it was because they broke the Laws of Leviticus, then Lot and his two daughters would be judged because Leviticus forbids incest as well.
Not bad, but the Ezekiel verse is pretty clear, more so depending on the translation-- the Sin of Sodom was the wealthy ignoring the poor and needy. The men who called for the angels to be sent out to them were never said to be homosexual, so therefore they were almost certainly heterosexuals wanting to humiliate the strangers by raping them. It amazes me how so many Christians NEVER quote the Ezekiel scripture, as so MANY never talk about Christ's mandate that we care and advocate for the poor, the sick, the incarcerated, and the marginalized (Matthew 25:32-46). OR how seldom most refer to The Greatest Commandment, or what Christ had to say about the rich. So many are more interested in hating entire groups of people, loving guns and flags, and following ungodly men and women who are primarily concerned with filling their pockets full of money and having dominion over others. Sad.
Did not the worship of idols involve sexual acts of the same gender? That may be the case, but still not in the context of sex being a result of love for a person.

To you Christians, Love makes you Christians feel even more vulnerable than you already feel, Love makes you Christians feel weak - and therefore - unsafe.
The only way you Christians will allow yourselves to Love another is if you Christians seem that will result in more of what you Christians want: security, safety, status, recognition, material comfort, pleasure, beauty, power - and yes - Love.

Although God is behind creation, that does not mean that God is behind everything that happens within creation.
Since we have been given free will, we are capable of being creators in our own right - including creating suffering for ourselves and others.
This particular delusionary belief, that God is causing our suffering and perhaps "punishing" us, is one of the most dangerous delusionary belief promoted by religious teachers.
For how can we be free from suffering if we do no realize what is causing our suffering?
As long as we believe that delusion, we will blame God or others or our circumstances for our suffering and not see that we are the ones responsible for our suffering.
Our mistaken thinking, and the negative emotions and the negative actions that flow from our thoughts, causes our suffering.
Depending on what we choose to believe, and how we choose to respond to life, we create more Love in the world or the opposite.
When someone chooses to express the opposite of Love or cause harm, it is not God that is at fault - God gifted us with the freedom to choose and to create.
We eventually learn from our choices to be better creators, to create happiness instead of suffering, and it is suffering that teaches us this - suffering points us away from what is anti-life, anti-Love.
Our own personal suffering is the so-called "punishment" we receive when we create choices that are not aligned with Love - that is the only "punishment" meted out by God.
We are designed to suffer whenever we miss the mark, which is the meaning of sin.
The mark, the target or goal, is Love - we suffer whenever we fall out of alignment with Love.
Suffering and joy are part of the guidance system we have been given, the homing device - which when followed - will bring us back home to Love.
Suffering tells us that we are beliveing a delusion or taking a wrong direction, while joy tells us the opposite.
If we do not want to suffer, then we must stop believing or doing what causes us and others suffering - and start believing and doing what brings peace, Love and joy.

Matthew 15 Jesus says sex outside of marriage is a sin. Matthew 19 Jesus says marriage is between one man and one women. So if sex outside of marriage is a sin, and marriage is only between man and women…how can same gender marriage not be a sin?

Judges 19 is the IDENTICAL STORY as Sodom and Gomorrah except the town's men took the man up on his offer and gang-raped the woman (not a very gay thing to do!). The Bible writer(s) either confused the stories...or re-used the stories, a very common thing to do in handed-down, verbal religious stories. Put the story pieces next to each other. The order is the same and many of the expressions (including "so that we can get to 'know' him/them) are either identical or almost identical...it's uncanny. "So that we may know them " is not an absolute replacement for the word sex here...they were xenophobic (they had to be back then) but many in the crowd may just wanted to know who he was (a scout perhaps from a different tribe/area) ... but it is also a way of keeping strangers out of your town if you meet them with violence...a type of prophylactic (excuse the pun) from being invaded by opposing tribes/people/etc

The Sodom tale has everything to do with hospitality in the ancient world that is world's different to how we understand hospitality today. Back then it was an issue of life or death to the traveler. It was of such grave importance, the Tribe of Benjamin went to war over it. We only have to go to Ezekiel 16:49,50 to see the sins they suffered from. Go to the Babylonian Talmud and it says the same thing with including the mistreatment of strangers. Jesus makes it about hospitality with Sodom in Matt 10:14,15. In Isaiah, God said Israel was like Sodom, so was Israel packed with gays? If Israel wasn't condemned for homosexuality, neither was Sodom.
