Most pipesmokers I know use the following guideline: A plug is a compressed tobacco you have to cut with a knife into Flakes. Peterson's 3P's comes to mind. A Cake/Kake is a compressed tobacco you can crumble with your fingers into loose cut tobacco. Like C&D's Kayun Kake. TAK (Tabak Aus Kiel has some very good Latakia cakes like Moro Cake. Try to get some if you can, you\ll like it.
Totally agree with your plug and cake description. I'm not a big Latakia lover but Moro cake is not bad at all.
Thanks!
Thanks for everything you do for our pipe community. Great commentary with a sense of humor and honest reviews.
Oh wow! Thank you so much, Matt! I really appreciate that!
Sounds like it would make a good Christmas blend!! The new Christmas Cheer! 👊😎👍
I agree!
Thanks for mentioning Joe Lankford, and I hope we of the pipe will continue to remember those most important members of the tobacco community-blenders. I appreciate your informative videos given in a lighthearted manner. This is on my list to try.
Joe Lankford was arguably the greatest blender of the modern era and truly unique. He didn't create as many blends as others but the blends he developed were outstanding and of the highest quality. He had an amazing talent for blending and was one of the most down to earth men you'd ever want to meet. He is missed by all his friends and worldwide fans.
Found your channel via fountain pens then realized you had great taste. And now I noticed Berserk and Uzumaki on the shelf! Bigfoot too? Japanese block prints !
Welcome aboard!
Berserk, Uzumaki, Traveler's Notebook... you've got my respect dude. And a sub!
Welcome aboard!
Thanks for the review Bradley. I enjoy sutliff Virginias I think there is a certain casing they use I am drawn towards. My favorite vapor is 1849. I hesitate to jump on these blends because of the price. So I appreciate the effort !
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks!
I really enjoy the GL Pease Old London Series blends I’ve tried… which is limited but include Quiet Nights, Chelsea Morning and Penny Farthing
Sounds good. I have a well aged Virginia flake that smells just like gingerbread (Sam’s Flake), so I can see GML being a Christmas blend.
Looking very Nice in this new Appearance. Cheers
Thank you! Cheers!
If....it helps, with regards towards the s word? I've heard the adjective description of essence or room note?
🤗🌱✨💚

Great review once again!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A lot of blends from Seattle pipe club tend to taste the same way to me. Fruity, pruney, raisiny, etc....
do you have a suggestion for tobacco free blends?
I'm on the hunt for the quintessential "Santa Claus" blend. Something I'd imagine good ol' St. Nick would smoke during Christmas while he was relaxing after a busy night of delivering toys. Something to enjoy by the fire during the holidays. I have a few aromatics that I like for that, but I want something that is a non-aro blend to try. Could this be it? I'm picking up a tin now.
It might be a good candidate!
"Drowned rat!" 😅😅
Nice haircut. I figured because of the short hair and the hats that you were just going bald (like me). Looking classy. Also good review.
Thank you sir. I've added it to my list.
Thanks for watching! I hope you like it!
What a nice review.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Brad looks old in this vid!!! But it does make me want to buy a tin of liberty based on his review. Also Ashton pipes…. Much homework to do.
Per your last video about words, we need them to mean what they mean (f*ck postmodernism). Heretofore a plug shall be composed of whole leaf, like jackknife plug, a cake shall be broken flakes or ribbons pressed into a dense cake, and a crumble cake is a ribbon cut pressed half assed into a square shape. So let it be written, so let it be done. I'm creeping death-ah.
I bought a tin this past weekend and I’ll pop it soon. Looking forward to it because the SPC blends are usually good, albeit pricey. I like the part where you quoted Patrick Henry’s famous line. In the environment of this country today, he’d be cancelled by social media, and the FBI would break into his house and drag him to the hoosegow.
Thanks for the review.👍
My pleasure!
