99% of crit rate buffs in this game are multiplicative. That means you should do the opposite actually of what you mentioned, which is that if a gun has a low base crit rate, then you should avoid crit mods because they are multiplying a low base value. It’s only on the guns with a starting high crit rate that you should invest in it. The exceptions are if you’re building around Enzo’s Supply Firearm Enhancement transcendent mod (and I think Valby has a skill that gives herself additive crit). The buff gives 29% additive crit, meaning you just straight up add 29% to the weapon’s base crit chance. That turns the Tamer for example from a 10% crit chance to 39%, and at that point, THEN it makes sense to go for crit mods if you want. But you need that additive crit buff to make it worth it. Otherwise, low crit weapons should focus on other damage mods.
I saw a comment of someone saying it's better to have four different mods rather than stack same type mods. Is that true? I was doing a build with two crit chance mods and two crit damage mods but this made me think I need to change it to one of each then two others.

Thank you for this video, the main problem is it’s hard to find out what to test out, but i think this serves as a really good base because the problem with ultimates is finding out if the dps and effect are worth it. Seeing that Nazeiatras devotion is 79% of the best, which is the perforator, and at the current meta most damage output is coming from descendants rather than guns, from this video i’ve decided to fully max out the nazeistra first, as it’s passive of reducing defense seems like it will be a solid aspect of any team, and unlike others that last only 1 second such as the python, you can combo descendant abilities with it
also for weapon synergy i’ve noticed lots of ultimate weapons have crazy synergy with descendants, but because of their low duration, the descendant can’t fully benefit from it alone such as freyna using her 4 with python( python 1 sec duration on -toxic defense% debuff) and enduring legacy with lepic and his ultimate nuke bu( also -fire defense% debuff). I think a meta of double characters will start, since characters share abilities and also can help one another out. 1 example is how freyna benefits from her passive even if it’s someone else’s freyna poison. This is how it would play out; one freyna ults, white the other shoots the python, and you can even have another teammate shooting the nazeistra, then they rotate and the other shoots the python while the other ults. This can be done with lepic boss nuking build too, except switch python out for enduring legacy

Luckily( not really the devs did it intentionally) the nazeistra is one of the easiest ultimate weapons to max out, as i believe all parts are 32% in some relic
I love the Sonic Co-op. High Fire Rate and it's loud af. Dogma 21 because I like the Purple Beam Phantom Pain lower dmg than EP, but faster fire rate and much less recoil.

The thunder cage is really good at aoe clear. It is like having bunny on a gun. It really good for the waves defense mission or clearing the mobs from the drills mission.
I agree but I bet that the conditional passive make fallen hope pass it up. I’m gonna have to do a TTK test on them vs the same yellow bar or something.

Best weapon DPS is so relative... Too many additional variables. Blink Shotgun is by far the best Damage Per Shot, and still very good DPS. Shotguns and Snipers... DPS doesn't matter as much as Damage Per Bullet, as the bullets are limited for most characters.
I think you missed some prime talking points, A good example is smithereens, when you land all pellets it gets a huge crit buff. Additionally one of the reduced stats for being a legendary on it is fire rate, so as you level it up the fire rate is going to increase and the dps by association. I think smithereens on gley is going to be pretty good. You also didnt talk about nazeistras devotion. Because of its debuff i think it will be meta for at least 1 person to have it in grp play. Blue items cannot have the random 4 stat increases on them. So burning 44 is probably better than moon beam in virtually all cases. Cool vid i learned a lot about what is useful!
Weakpoint damage is calculated as: 1 X (base weapon multiplier) X (1+mods) + (fixed monster value). So with high fixed value, mod value is higher on low base weapon and with fixed value of 0, it would have the same effect on any weapon.
perforator has great base stats but her passive sucks 1.5% chance to blow 0.5% max shield colossus is very shit Nazeistra has -10% Def debuff guaranteed on weakpoint hits and is way easier to farm her passive beyond that her base stats are almost the same as Perforator - same crit damage - 1.7x Weak point damage Nazeistra - 2.25x weak point damage Perforator thats the only major difference but not enough to make her worth imo
Fallen Hope is NASTY! Especially with Freyna. Perfect synergy! Its also one of the few Ultimate weapons you can farm its 4 parts at a 20% chance at normal story mode missions - i was so surprised by it.

However, none of them seem to point out that list is the base weapon with none of the added four stat rolls purple/orange weapons get. So promoting the blue weapons, that can't get those bonuses is just wrong. I suppose purely for initial leveling and campaign, sure blue is fine, but you'll be gimping yourself if you use them in end game.
Ao Vestigal Organ is basically Gjallerhorn of the First Decendant on how much better it is than any other launcher. In the case of Destiny 1, Gjally was that much better than ANYTHING, though.
Enduring legacy is 100% better than tamer. Ingame numbers are just wrong. 20% base crit means it can get over 40% crit chance easily. Faster fire rate. And higher crit dmg stat as well. Thing outscales tamer haaaard. Especially when you add legendary perk which isn't included in dps calculations.

All this work and you drop the ball on crit rate .... If it starts low don't waste time on it. (The best I have ATM can only add 64% rate and on Tamer it takes the 10 base and multiples it by 1.64 for a total of 16.4% crit rate not worth the 2 slots)
1. You forget to multiply crit damage. Compared to other guns Tamer has it at high base. 2. Most machine guns suck at crit chances but Tamer has it one of the highest among them. 3. Weakpoint damage can crit. Ideally you want both. 4. As oposed weakpoint damage on Tamer is on x1 base. Math wise it's still worth investing into it but math don't count what is your weakpoint accuracy is. If you aren't hitting weakpoints you might as well stick to crit (for now).
They need a system where you can opt in to automatically like a video, and have points that you can list like if I watch 50% 75% or 100% of a video it auto likes the video. But it should be a setting you can opt in for or maybe initially opt out of if you don’t want to participate.
Yeah basically this guide is useless by being just base dps. Your take saying build into crit if crit is bad is also a wrong take since it's additive not multiplicitive. Base stat build isn't accurate ratings due to how high scaling increases when base stats on multiplier stats are way higher. For instance enduring legacy having twice all multipliers than tamer does. Sure the base is 30% less. But after mods the dps potential is basically double. Same with assassin's edge handgun and many others missed on this list.
A tier list based on BASE stats when they mean absolutely nothing towards their final damage output? All it does is cause confusion among those that don't know any better. Try again. And consult with Ryechew about the math behind... well... everything.
Wow. While i appreciate the testing put in the video, more so what this has taught me is ultimate weapons are pretty lackluster. Hope their special perks bring them up. So far all i want is python and afterglow
I suppose lots more players would be using Sniper Rifles if the ammo wasn’t so tight, it’s ok just being told to fit an ammo conversion mod, but what mod should you remove to be able to fit a mod that gives you a certain type of ammo, be simpler if the Devs just give the player more ammo of every kind .
How are you factoring in the unique specific to character abilities? Some of these uniques are clearly made for certain classes. This is good in a general sense.
Sorry does this factor in reload time, or ignore it? I ask because I want to make a Gley build and get max DPS possible. I believe Vestigial Organ is best for levels, and Piercing Light is best for bosses, but that would only be if your stats are ignoring reload times. Also, sorry, but did you say if a weapon has low crit stats, then adding crit mods will do a lot? You're obviously well versed in math, so I don't want to correct you, but that seems quite obviously wrong. If a gun has 1% crit, and you boost the crit 200% or something crazy, it's still only 3%. If something has low crit values, you should ignore crit for it.
They were not wrong. Max out thunder cage for mobs and max out tamer for bossing. Grab a third weapon for a critical build (sniper) and you've got all bases covered.
@@HexxuSz Thunder Cage's passive is useless in bossing, but the base stats still makes it a good choice for bossing unless you're VERY fond of having the highest DPS possible. Personally I just use guns I find fun to use, cus 60% of the game's weapons gets you through the game just fine.

Immediate Execution shouldn't be on the list. Assassin's Edge is the 2nd highest raw DPS HC behind Perforator, in fact the Perforator should be the highest DPS gun in the entire game. Would agree with Python being the best SMG if it weren't so buggy. There are a few weapons that have some of the lowest DPS that you have on that list (and you shouldn't be looking at the DPS check in-game either because for some reason the game's math is horrendous at giving you an actual dps number). I hate to say it but there's another YTer by the name of RyeChew who is kind of a math nerd and has started a math discord for the game that he, as well as other people, have been contributing to to try and figure out all of the math involved in all of the weapons and systems in the game. Through my playtime a lot of the unique guns are really buggy and don't exactly work as they should or else most of them would be a lot higher than most of them are.
Firearm ATK is but one piece of the puzzle. With the weapon taken as a whole Immediate Execution is a stronger Hand Cannon over Assassin's Edge. Though the margin isn't that large.
Just want to point out that the critical% + crit damage +weak point damages multiplier stats are also a very big part of the puzzle 🧩 when we look past the base stats of ATK/ROF for the most basic DPS@@DrybearGamers

@@tamashi2241 is this saying if a boss has 100 res you can't lower it pass 80 or 20 ? I don't have the gun so off stats alone 1 sec dur and just over 15 rounds a sec with a max stack of 20 means you can lower toxin by 19.5 but non elemental by 54 in just the 1 sec.
Is there a best way to farm atandard weapons like the Recipient Unknown? Is standard better than hard for this? I dont know that uou can target standard weapons like rares unless im missing something?

Enduring legacy appears to be the best machine gun for critical builds too, thanks to its high 20% base . I'm so glad I didn't commit to the Tamer and use all my catalysts or an activator on it . Thundercage critical builds was worth it tho x6 critical damage...

The debuff is great in coop play and scales up 5% per ability upgrade. I upgraded mine once so it is at 15% def debuff rn.

I suppose lots more players would be using Sniper Rifles if the ammo wasn’t so tight, it’s ok just being told to fit an ammo conversion mod, but what mod should you remove to be able to fit a mod that gives you a certain type of ammo, be simpler if the Devs just give the player more ammo of every kind .

How are you factoring in the unique specific to character abilities? Some of these uniques are clearly made for certain classes. This is good in a general sense.
In my opinion, there is not enough variation and only a few are usable because the passive ones simply don't compensate for their basic dmg

Video can be pretty misleading because you can reroll attributes on weapons and put better crit dmg crit rate etc as there’s no one way a weapon comes
I have delt around 460k damage to a void intercept boss with the piercing light sniper and sharen's 2nd ability

I ask because I want to make a Gley build and get max DPS possible. I believe Vestigial Organ is best for levels, and Piercing Light is best for bosses, but that would only be if your stats are ignoring reload times.
Also, sorry, but did you say if a weapon has low crit stats, then adding crit mods will do a lot? You're obviously well versed in math, so I don't want to correct you, but that seems quite obviously wrong. If a gun has 1% crit, and you boost the crit 200% or something crazy, it's still only 3%. If something has low crit values, you should ignore crit for it.

Some people in my group gaslit me into upgrading my Thunder Cage. Now I feel so bad having a shit weapon for bossing
They were not wrong. Max out thunder cage for mobs and max out tamer for bossing. Grab a third weapon for a critical build (sniper) and you've got all bases covered.
thunder cage isn't a boss weapon..

@@HexxuSz Thunder Cage's passive is useless in bossing, but the base stats still makes it a good choice for bossing unless you're VERY fond of having the highest DPS possible. Personally I just use guns I find fun to use, cus 60% of the game's weapons gets you through the game just fine.

As far as i know there are not enough modules to increase tamer crit rate past 15.
You can use descendants. Valby has a +20% additive bonus, and I know Enzo has one, but idk the value for that one.

Immediate Execution shouldn't be on the list. Assassin's Edge is the 2nd highest raw DPS HC behind Perforator, in fact the Perforator should be the highest DPS gun in the entire game.
Would agree with Python being the best SMG if it weren't so buggy. There are a few weapons that have some of the lowest DPS that you have on that list (and you shouldn't be looking at the DPS check in-game either because for some reason the game's math is horrendous at giving you an actual dps number). I hate to say it but there's another YTer by the name of RyeChew who is kind of a math nerd and has started a math discord for the game that he, as well as other people, have been contributing to to try and figure out all of the math involved in all of the weapons and systems in the game. Through my playtime a lot of the unique guns are really buggy and don't exactly work as they should or else most of them would be a lot higher than most of them are.
Firearm ATK is but one piece of the puzzle. With the weapon taken as a whole Immediate Execution is a stronger Hand Cannon over Assassin's Edge. Though the margin isn't that large.
Just want to point out that the critical% + crit damage +weak point damages multiplier stats are also a very big part of the puzzle 🧩 when we look past the base stats of ATK/ROF for the most basic DPS@@DrybearGamers

I don't have the gun so off stats alone 1 sec dur and just over 15 rounds a sec with a max stack of 20 means you can lower toxin by 19.5 but non elemental by 54 in just the 1 sec.
@FILOdeathlord you can only reduce a stat by 80%. So the lowest it can be is 20% of its value.
100 def can be reduced down to 20 at the most.
The drop rates are pathetic in this game.

When I saw that the gun had a 20% base crit % I knew its potential to be better than the Tamer.
@@slayzet4293python seems to be a weak point gun, over thundercage being a type critical gun .
Enduring legacy appears to be the best machine gun for critical builds too, thanks to its high 20% base .
I'm so glad I didn't commit to the Tamer and use all my catalysts or an activator on it .
Thundercage critical builds was worth it tho x6 critical damage...
