  • Well, InART has finally revealed the final production photos of their new "THE BATMAN" figure and... it certainly is something. I react to that HERE and discuss we are expecting too much from them, or if they need to try harder over all in their delivery of figures and their system of distribution.

    This is taken from a bad angle in trash lighting, I think it needs to be seen in hand before anyone starts panicking. Everyone freaked out when Pennywise was released and then when people got it in hand and futzed with it the opinion changed and everyone thought it was great. So I’ll reserve judgment until there’s in hand photos. If at that point it still looks trash then I will definitely eat my words.

    I didn't order an INART Batman but I did a Hot Toys. Very curious to see the INART Batman unboxing videos when they drop. I did notice that in the picture of the INART Batman that had four of them, all four had distinctly different hair shapes and the first one on the left looked the best. Couldn't tell if all the head sculpts were the same but I will say generally, the face looks a bit gaunt and the preproduction sculpts looked better but not neccessarily more accurate. I have my fingers crossed for the collecting community and INART as a company. I always say there's nothing to worry about until there is and the photos shown aren't enough to make me worry for anyone. If I had an INART Batman ordererd I wouldn't worry yet until it was in my hand. Good luck everyone. SHIPPING? I waited 2 years exactly for the Hot Toys Batman to get to my door and this was after Sideshow posted changing shipping times like 5 times over 9 months and funny on their website still posts shipping February and I got mine Last Friday in March. All of that being said I would be more tolerant about INART's delays because at least they reached out to the community.

    So I was always going to get the hot toys version of Battinson, simply because I wanted the package with the Bat Signal(should be arriving tomorrow!!!) but with that said I was hoping InArt could deliver on this because it just looked so flipping great. I also was selfishly hoping they could deliver because I am all types of hyped over the Paul Atreides figure which looks out of this world! It would have given me more confidence that they could deliver on such a lofty prototype dream had this come closer to expectations.

    No. While I think Hot Toys has the better likeness - at least going by these production pictures - the quality/realism of Inart's paint apps look outstanding, download and zoom into the photo to see what I mean. Also the costume and proportions look very good. Hopefully we'll get some video footage soon.

    • @dbg5081
      @dbg5081 4 месяца назад +1

      @dangiambrone7350
      Definitely agree here. I originally disliked a lot about inarts proportions and paint apps and preferred hot toys. But from what I’m seeing here at least, they completely fixed a lot of my issues with the body. They took away a lot of the over texturing in the cowl and chest plate. They added more realistic paint to the armor as well, so now it doesn’t look like concrete. And they made the body thicker in all the right places.
      It’s funny, comparing the prototypes of both hot toys and inart, they made a complete switch to me. I believe it was because they were reacting to each other. Hot toys originally had better proportions to me, with a lesser head sculpt, but the final had a great sculpt (with still mostly great proportions) but they neglected to change the neck/collar area to match all of the changes they made to the rest of the body.
      I think inart saw the criticism that their prototypes and hot toys final received and adjusted the suit and proportions, but they didn’t adjust the head enough to match the quality of the body.

    • @dangiambrone7350
      @dangiambrone7350 4 месяца назад +1

      @@dbg5081 Well said. I'm all for feedback and critiques, but this could ("could" because future photos/video might show the sculpt off in a much better light) be a case where listening too much to the community can be a bad thing. Personally, I thought the original likeness on the prototype was the best, and has appeared to have got worse with each revision. The comments on Inart's facebook page has so many contrasting observations, which if taken onboard, will lead to confusion and arguably a scenario where more people are upset. There has to be balance.
      People often say that a likeness is subjective. I don't agree with this at all. Enjoyment is subjective, quality and accuracy is not. A while back, I had a back and forth with a collector who was convinced that the Hot Toys 1/4 Heath Ledger Joker likeness was perfect, when objectively it isn't the case, almost everything was wrong with the portrait - hair colour, hairstyle, shape of the head, jawline, slope of the forehead, eyes..... I digress. Bottom line: Inart have the best references, that being The Batman film, video/stills, behind-the-scenes material etc.

    I don't know if this is so much a sculpt issue as it seems to be a possible hair issue. People are saying the sculpted hair portrait looks good but not the rooted hair.
    If im not mistaken, I highly doubt they created two separate scultps for the same exact figures. From the ONLY two angles that they showed for this, its not a clear shot of the sculpt to even judge it. There are no direct frontal pics to show yet.
    I'm not sure if there is too much hair or if the hair wasn't futzed with enough. There does, however, seem to be some issue in that area with the initial pics. The tailoring and accessories look amazing from the initial pics. Hopefully, we will soon see for sure.

    Hot toys is known for long waits and delays. They are also known for dropping the ball on at least 60% of their sculpts from proto. They are still around. A bit melodramatic to say Inart will not exist if they do the same. History proves that theory wrong. Anything can happen. @@KeCoCollects I'm with you. I understand INART doesn't have the global licence. This means collectors have to find a reliable resellers AND hope the product will show up in a reasonable timeframe. To me, this is not a good buying experience regardless of the quality of the product. I preordered mine from Onesixthkit so I'm not worried. The concern is WHEN. I preordered mine late so I'm sure I won't get it after summer.
      The batch system is not working. Here're my suggestions:
      - INART should set a realistic timeline and stick to it. Add 20% buffer to any offical release date. Expectation is important. I will rather knowing I have to wait a year than mislead to getting the product in the same amount of time
      - Preorder with full payment should receive the product first. This naturally creates a batch system that IMO is fair
      - Alternatively, INART should know the capacity of their factories. This means, once the preorder number exceeds the capacity, any orders should be in the next "batch" with an updated timeline
      Folks should separate the product and the whole buying experience. Right now, the buying experience is not great.
      PS: Huge fan of the weekly Friday live stream of you and Willfoxication

    I"m happy I haven't been interested in either the Inart or Hot Toys Batman. I enjoyed the movie but not enough to shell out the money for this guy. It always amuses me the dramatic reactionary reactions to almost every release of photos of highly anticipated figures. there is always someone that has their panties in a twist about something. My word, Keco, you've stirred the hornets nest, you're quite the provocateur and very entertaining to boot.
    I most certainly agree with you about "influencer" privilege, especially when it comes to Inart simply because their pre-order windows are long closed before the reviews come along. In these instances, the "influencers" are mostly assisting the flippers/secondhand sellers, although I suppose one could argue that someone like Justin will draw more attention to Inart and their future products, than they will secure more purchases for the piece they're reviewing.
    And yes, the batch system needs to do one - early adopters should not be guinea pigs; receiving inferior products. Inart should invest more in QC, having a second or third filter in place.

    Inarts batch system is no joke its 100% terrible. But their latest photos look good not worse. The sculpt is similar to their latest proto, and the hair just needs to be futz and wet same one we saw from the last events. People are over dramatic and not actually looking at the side by side photos. The "Update" photo as well looks nothing like the last event or final so it's difficult to assume that the final will be close to those photos. Neck bulge Spideys, single jointed female Mandalorians, visible jointed figures, hell, even the waist clamp for spidey and superman figures that famage them over time are lazy and should be abandoned. I’m sorry, I wasn’t going to comment since I don’t collect these types of figures (I’m more into props and statues) but I got 2 videos recommended to me about this same exact “issue” with this Inart Batman figure and decided to check out what was the controversy. Never heard of this company before but I think the reaction to the head sculpt is pretty exaggerated. I mean, with the way you and the guy from the other channel are talking about it I’d expect Battinson to look absolutely disfigured (no pun intended) but it just looks the same as the prototype maybe from a different angle, but, most importantly, it looks exactly like Robert Pattinson and it doesn’t look remotely bad. Sure, delays and over promising suck, I totally agree, but the more I look at the product photos, the least I understand the reaction to the head sculpt.

    Keco, I understand your dissatisfaction and concern but…..you can’t compare two sculpts based on one low res picture that is shot from a different angle with extreme zoom. As a photographer you probably know better than anybody that lighting and angles plays a pivotal role in how we perceive an object; that is especially true of human faces….Personally, when you showed two pictures side by side I did not spot any glaring differences/imperfections when compared to the prototype. If we want to make a more objective comparison we need to find photos of the actor with a similar angles or wait until InArt posts better pictures.

    This is borderline fearmongering and isn't what I subscribe for.
    Even if you believe what you're preaching, why make a video inciting panic among the community based on a photo or two taken from poor angles when we know we're going to see HK collectors and influencers posting video of their figure in the next week or two? The criticism in this video also goes well beyond the photos and once again attacks InArt's ability to deliver a product the literal day after the deadline they set themselves. Not unwarranted, but perhaps unnecessary.
    This kind of content does not help anyone and should have been reserved for after we've seen full coverage of the figure.

    • @KeCoCollects
      @KeCoCollects  4 месяца назад +1

      Fearmongering seems a bit harsh - they are toys at the end of the day. It's just a discussion for the community - nothing nefarious or deeper than that. I'm sorry it didn't hit with you.

      "This is borderline fearmongering and isn't what I subscribe for."
      No it isn't. It is one guy giving his opinion on photographs which were posted by Inart themselves. It's difficult to tell if you're genuinely fearmongered, or whether you're adopting an offended veneer - because you are not getting the affirmation you seemingly appear so desperate to receive - to guilt Karen Collects into opinion compliance, into towing the line, get him to clap like a hungry seal & suck that corporate schlong.
      "Even if you believe what you're preaching, why make a video inciting panic among the community"
      Projection. I ask if you honestly believe what you're saying here? If you truly think that collectors will be triggered into a panic simply because of one mans views on a collectable figurine?? First World problems at its finest. A case of the bigotry of low expectations methinks. Speak for yourself, sure, but don't act like we're all part of some kind of hivemind. People are not as fragile as what you make them out to be, well at least most aren't.
      "This kind of content does not help anyone and should have been reserved for after we've seen full coverage of the figure."
      Again, speak for yourself. I enjoyed it, and so did many others going by the videos positive ratio of 300 likes to 18 dislikes. It is also helpful for me because it is the first time I have seen these production pictures.
      Why should it, this reaction, be reserved until we have seen full coverage of the figure? Whatever happened to case-by-case basis. Kar...Keco is reacting to what Inart have put out. What next?! Are we not allowed to air our views on prototypes, work-in-progress changes ... I am certain Keco will make additional videos as & when more media becomes available, and who knows, he may just provide you with the solace you appear so desperate to receive.
