- WHAT!? This is truly unprecedented - HOT TOYS HAS CANCELLED FIGURES that were in production! Should we care? Do you care? What does this mean for collecting going forward?

The Flash is the first line I was going all in on. This really pisses me off if true. And on another day where they announce more f-king Star Wars clones/troopers. I have a love hate relationship with Star Wars. It has given us a wonderful magical world, but is so overrated, over-merchandised and overexposed that I really hate it at times. And while it continues to thrive, in collectibles at least, the things I want the most don't get made. Rant over.
This is a fair and well given response. You win the pin 📍
Yeah that Chrome Cody is fucking stupid. Especially when we don’t even have a Phase 1 version.
I practically only collect Star Wars but I fully understand you. Even I get annoyed at the lack of variety. Would love to see other things being made
@@KeCoCollects
4:04 _Now, in transparency, I had no desire for either of these figures... and I'm willing to bet a lot of people watching this probably do not care for them either, so..._
Speaking for myself, I can't say enough how much you're *NOT WRONG,* KeCo - especially about Flash. Remember the Jesus toast? Well, if I ever made a toast and the burn on it came out even remotely resembling Ezra Miller, I would incinerate it in a hurry, never mind pay hundreds for a figure bearing the actor's likeness with a chunk of that money trickling into his pocket in the process for that reason. 🤨
No matter your topic… After a long day of work, your voice and content is incredibly relaxing. I truly appreciate the enjoyment you bring. 1/6 figures aren’t a necessity. You truly keep the fun in it. Even if the topic is disappointing. Thank you KeCo!
Wow, thanks for the compliment!
I’m wondering if hot toys picked two figures with the lowest sales to kind of gauge the community’s reaction to something like this.
I love a conspiracy theory!! Solid one at that
Meanwhile, the Terminator, Aliens, Predator, RoboCop, and other classic Sci-Fi characters get no love from Hot Toys. Instead, we get low-tier Disney Star Wars garbage or some new Iron-Man 2.0 or 3.0 🤷🏻♂
But we all NEED that 673rd Stormtrooper!
Hey Keco! I hope all is well on you’re end. Greatly appreciate your insight on HT collection. Looking forward to your next videos and just wanted to wish you the best brother!
Appreciate the support my friend
Good questions bro. Panic insuing...😮
I love that emoji lol
If hot toys is so worried about not getting their moneys worth, they should make a voting system/ monthly pole on what character the actual consumers ( collectors) want.
This makes too much sense lol
Problem is folks won't put their money where their mouth is with that kind of stuff
Oh yes..let's panic.. hot toys isn't making the flash nobody preordered.
Not even IRON MAN is safe??
Good topic! Crazy how they cancelled those figures and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Kang figure is next on that cutting list but I guess time will tell. I just wish Hot Toys would inform us way more on what goes behind the scenes of their decision making and all of that… thanks again for this video Keco keep up the great content as usual
Appreciate you watching 🙏🏻
Not gonna lie, not worried in the least. Mainly because of the figures. Even majority of the people who seem to be upset have also said they hadn’t PO’d yet (and tbh, I’d bet at least half those people wouldn’t have went through with it). The more I think about it, I’d rather they move on from a figure(s) most don’t want and place that energy elsewhere. Either way, while we disagree, great video Keco!
Love conversations and dialogue!
Great surprise video! Totally agree that this was a business decision of a set number of pre-orders was not met and not of monetary value for them to produce. Like you said I had no horses in this race because I did not pre-order these but what would happen if it was one I wanted? I hope I never have to find out. Like always thank you for the transparency and the honest opinions on what is going on!! Strong work brother!!
Thanks for watching! I too hope we never have to find out a "WHAT IF..." for a figure we want to
Good looking man right there😍
😮💨😮💨😮💨
Hot Toys developing a Sakaarian Iron Man was more shocking than it's cancellation but the Barry one is interesting considering it was waitlisted. Heck all the Flash figures were waitlisted except Supergirl. And considering they're not cancelling the first Flash figure makes it seem like nothing to do with the Ezra stuff.
Lots of questions that need answers, yeah??
Lack Luster releases I’m glad they canceled these 3 items instead of becoming shelf warmers. Hot Toys did everyone involved a huge favor.
The flash wasn't a bad figure, just a terrible movie lol
@@KeCoCollects Definitely not a bad figure, but with the money involved in tooling these figs and then producing them it is probably not worth all the effort either. I think Kang is next, movie was garbage but in the climate of today’s cancel culture and the drama surrounding the actor I can see this one going bye 👋 bye
This definitely could be worrisome because I’m sure there were people out there who wanted these figures. Hopefully this isn’t something that occurs a lot. If the people who ordered these figures get their NRD back that’s good at least.
A silver lining hopefully for sure
I wonder if other figures announced after these two might be placed on the chopping block too?
THAT is the big question
I was going to order flash. Thanks for the information. You let me know in time, thank you.
Happy to help!
Good video. Obviously there was a real lack of demand for these figures. However, as you point out we don’t know what that threshold for viability is. This comes down to continued lack of transparency from Hot Toys and to a lesser extent Sideshow. I contrast this to Hasbro who in terms of HasLab products keeps consumers informed on preorders and have had products fail to reach their minimum goals. Hasbro also has staff members post on Twitter and Instagram connecting with fans and answering their questions. Sideshow only connects thru their fan channels and Hot Toys - constant radio silence
They also couldn't even be bothered to officially post it on their social channels. Just a blurry, poorly worded "memo"
Nice vid Keco. If possible I’d like you to discuss this topic with Will and mention Warriors of the Future figures who despite their small batch managed to stay afloat and not get under a chopping block of cancellation. Give me your thoughts on it)
I'll be out the next couple weeks, but I'm sure Will will be addressing it. I'll forward this response on to him!
Looks to me collecting of the future is going to be ultra TIGHT!
A different world for sure seemingly
Gave you the 100th like. You’re welcome. 😂
Here is a special trophy! 🏆
Living in HK, Hot toys had a special sale a couple weeks ago. I suppose business has gone down due to current market condition plus more competitions in the 1/6 business. Moreover, not a lot of new good movie characters had come out lately, so they are milking on the nostalgic figures with 2.0s and variations with minor upgrades. That’s not very compelling to many local collectors.
Very interesting
And thus Pandora’s box was opened.
lol. Indeed ... SO IT BEGINS
It is very concerning as I like to complete a line such as the bad batch that I am waiting on Tech however from a business standpoint if the number of preorders are insufficient to cover costs it makes sense why risk it. I do hope retails reimburse the NRD which I do see some retails have in the FAQ they will if the item is canceled.
Reputable stores will yes, BUT, the shady ones are gonna have a field day
Crap! I just remembered I have Black Manta on pre-order. That one now has me a little worried.
👀👀👀
I'd be pissed if hot toys canceled the weird armored motorcycle Batfleck from The Flash. I know it's a strange design and the movie is questionable but I want it so bad. I think that's the only figure I have pre-ordered that MIGHT have a chance of being canceled. But it's a Batman figure so I think it's safe. But then again... they canceled this beloved Iron Man lol
Fingers crossed for ya
This may set a bad precedent imo. Imagine putting money down for something promised and they change their minds and re-neg on an implied contract. It destroys buyers confidence imo; especially when money has exchanged hands.
My point exactly
Im wondering are they going to focus more on limited releases like 0-0-0 with more obscure characters? I love that character and would have gotten it anyway but would it sell as well if it wast limited to 2000 units? Same goes with chrome Cody
Chrome Cody still hasn't sold out yet as of right now I believe
I had both Flashes, Batman, and Supergirl PO'd because i thought it would be a great display. With the young flash being canceled i think ill ditch the other flash and Supergirl too. Its interesting that these are the figures that broke the camels back. I would be curious to hear a retailer's opinion on these as I can't see their POs being worse than Morbius, or the Eternals figures. It would be great if you and Will could get Josh from Comic Concepts on Lights Camera Collect this Friday to discuss this. I feel he would bring a great perspective for this drama
I'll forward along!
Very interesting indeed. The particular canceled figures don’t surprise me at all. I’m with you on Kang. I personally canceled my pre-order of him after his personal shenanigans. No point in having him in the collection if his only outing is going to be Ant Man 3 😬. The figure I am now most worried about this happening to is Dial of Destiny Indy. The movie didn’t perform well but hopefully enough people preordered to save him. I’m hoping that people who missed out on the DX05 will grab him if for nothing else to make a custom young Indy.
Thoughts and prayers for the Indy figs
@@KeCoCollects 😄
DAMN IT!! I was going to army build that Sakaarian Iron Man. No really, I was...
Sorrry for your loss
@@KeCoCollects Sakaarian sarcasm 😂
@@smallvillefan72 ayyyyye
The concerning fact, even if the flash isnt something most preordered or people glad its canceld is the fact it was waitlisted on sideshow unlike the iron man. So the preorder sales met sideshows alotment. So if they cancel a figure that is waitlisted than anythings on the chopping block
My point exactly
If pre ordering wasn’t already dead it is now but if this helps hot toys make every release a knock out rather than sub par happy for them to cancel a few.
Fair point!
The What if figure I can see but the Flash is pretty shocking. I wonder how the licensor feels about this? Pretty crazy nonetheless.
Good question about licensing
It is a little interesting to see them just outright halt production on something already announced. Are they hurting that bad sales wise?
Who knows right?? I wish we knew more
Ill be honest, this feels like a 1st phase of Hot Toys potentially phasing out as a company. They have made multiples of the most popular/iconic characters (spidey, iron man, obi wan, boba, etc.). It would not surprise me if this was their first step towards the end
I wouldn't go that far. They're still making plenty of money (it would appear) and no one wants to stop doing that - but that's an interesting take!
Keco out here spoiling us with content 🤟❤
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
I think this drives home the fact that they need to start making pre-order windows a more common thing. X amount of time to decide if you want a figure or not. If you don’t PO, tough tiddies, you don’t get it unless you buy on the secondary market.
I would love a true pre order window
I also had no desire for either of them. I think very few people actually wanted them and thats why they are canceled.
We will no more eventually for sure
I just hope the people who ordered these get full refunds including the NRD
Yes! No one should be wronged
everything you say in the video is the absolute truth, keep it up 👍
Thanks for watching, Luis!
I am showing you my support, and I endorse this message 😂😂😂😂
Yay! Much appreciated
Happened to my Enterbay Django figure preorders. Very disappointing. For new collectors, I’m sure this is a shock.
For hot toys collectors, yes, this is new
I really wanted the young barry flash. It wasn't a great movie, but I still enjoyed it.
I hate this for you :(
Why pre-order? I'm a new collector buying 7 year old figures brand new in the box...
While you can certainly find deals on older figures, the ones that are not readily available or limited will command a high price and if you don't order them, you'll miss out and have to pay quite a bit more.
This is interesting, I never knew HT cancels preorders like this, what happens with the figures done?! Do they just go into the 1/6 VOID , never to be seen again?!
Who knows at this point! Lots to see unfold
I feel bad for the talented creative teams whose line gets pulled due to cancellation ….i wish HT showed a site of dead or unapproved figures to showcase the artists behind the work…I would love to see that behind the curtain creativity
@@marcakins3373 would be interesting!
Good news tho~ That flash is horrendous after all
and the what if ironman too~ The moment I saw it, it leave no impact whatsoever
unless they cancel something like Darth Vader or something else
Totally understand that sentiment
I think collectors should be worried that hot toys chooses to now cancel a figure if a certain number of units aren’t preorder at a certain time frame. It’s one thing to show a figure and never put it on p.o ( many many past examples) it’s another thing to never finish a line ( many many past examples) but now you have to worry wether or not a figure will actually see the light of day even if it did hit p.o listing. Could this be a new scapegoat for hot toys to not bother with a product if prices changes on them? Like that’s insane circumstances for us collectors especially with prices constantly increasing
This is an excellent line of thinking
The flash cancelled seems like cus if Ezra and the Samaritan iron man seems like it’s actually cus nobody wanted it. And they just lumped them together to cause less drama/weren’t allowed to say it’s cus of Ezra
Potentially!
If there's a figure you want I believe its always best to preorder. Show them this figure is desired. I told my GF that if she wants HT to make more League of Legends figures then she would need to show them by buying the ones already up for preorder.
Vote with your wallet
@@KeCoCollects Absolutely. I did not hesitate to preorder Crosshair and Carnage when they were finally announced. DOPO for me.
Did you manage to get 0-0-0? Apparently there was some loophole people were doing to bypass the queue.
@@Fr0stbit3_ I did .. and I did it the queue way. Though if they don't close that loop I may exploit it myself next time lol
@@KeCoCollects I tried to see if that loophole would work for Chrody but he never had a thumbnail in the “what’s new” section.
@@Fr0stbit3_ he's also still available too
Dammit, I was gonna cave and hit that pre-order button on the Young Flash at the end of the month. I enjoyed the movie, and looking at him and the other Barry figure was half expecting them to be the doorway into that movie getting a line. I really wanted a Dark Flash and that Young Barry.
I feel bad for people who have an Iron man display and wanted this crazy looking armor.
Yeah. There are some like yourself who will be disappointed sadly
Didn't want either of them but yikes! I'll be curious to see if they still make Supergirl.
I would hope so!
They definitely won't be doing risky figures moving forward. Definitely due to low international numbers, but let's be real that sakaarian iron man should never have been made anyway 😂
I will concede, that that iron man was beyond bizarre as an option
Canceling shit people don’t want is always a good thing . Wish HT would do it more often.
Well, certainly SOMEONE ordered one lol - right???
@@KeCoCollects Sure but not enough, I'm guessing.
Yea, I wish they would cancel the shit figures from star wars hot toys keeps producing.
@@symbolicsin as someone that collects predominantly Star Wars figures, I agree they produce a lot of unnecessary ones. I can
See
Them canceling the Mando Super Commando from the Ahsoka line.
I couldn’t care less for either these figures but it’s strange they issued cancelation after quite some time after preorders were introduced..doubt it will happen again though due to rarity of the case.. number of preorders must have been wayy to low worldwide for them to develop a figure..hopefully this doesn’t change their ideology of making less known or side characters…
A huge concern of mine is them moving away from fringe characters. We will see
@@KeCoCollects yeah hopefully they won’t!
I see no concern atm. Yeah it sucks those figures were cancelled for the ones that really wanted it but I think it’s pretty clear why they were cancelled. I hope the people that preordered get all their money back but I’m also kind of scratching my head at why they would preorder to begin with. That Iron Man was fairly disgusting. I don’t think there was any danger in that thing selling out before release.
Need some better market research perhaps
Not surprised they cancelled the Sakaarian Iron Man. That thing looked fugly. I'm an Iron Man guy, and even I didn't want it. And I liked the holo MK IV, lol.
I do feel for those that actually wanted it, though.
Holo Mk 4 isn't bad for what it is I guess lol
@@KeCoCollects Great potential for a repaint! Makes for a good base.
Glad they are canceling some of the trash. Unfortunately we will still get all the star wars cluttering up the hot toys section on sideshow and being put on daily deals for the next two years.
I hope not lol
I mean...did anyone want that Iron Man? The Flash is a bit worrying though. I don't care for either but I think the movie did well enough to warrant figure releases. That would suck if they extended it to the modern batman and supergirl figures though
If Batman gets cut, people would riot
I preordered the whole line of the flash movie only because they release the preorder of young Barry, fml.
That stinks
Did they not reach enough pre-orders? Or did the whole Ezra miller thing have them worried?
There are other Ezra figures up for preorder .. I don't think Ezra has anything to do with it.
Good looking out with this video. Especially for those of us who only use YT and wouldn’t know as these updates from Hot Toys are only through social media. That What If? .. Iron Man was a disaster. Looks like a Hasbro toy. I’m shocked they even made a single flash figure from that film. I hope those who pre ordered get their NRP refunded along with any monthly payments made. Sideshow will take care of them. It’s those other distributors that is the question. I can see other figures getting cancelled.
If not even Iron Man is safe, we could have some problems 😣
@@KeCoCollects I don’t think any of the What If figures sold that well. Makes me wonder if that gave them pause to not do X-Men ‘97? 🤔 I swore to myself that ‘97 figures from Hot Toys was money. The Mondo line looks good. I did pre-order their Gambit after viewing reviews online as I’m not too familiar with them.
@@ShadyDBZ4 I have Captain Carter and Infinity Ultron, but that line is very suspect.
@@KeCoCollects Both of those look great. I really like What If .. Carter. Can’t believe they didn’t do the zombies from that one episode in season 1. I would have thought those would sell. You never know with Hot Toys. Since they don’t talk we’re all left to guessing every single one of there moves and half the time we look like fools with predictions. Lol
@@ShadyDBZ4 if they ever do Zombie Wanda, I'm ALL IN
I think is the economi on the usa..
Perhaps
Just being curious why HT decides to cancel young Barry instead of one piece and Ashe from league of legends😅
The world may never know
Is anyone really surprised? If they did this to staple or much more popular characters then I’d be worried. The DCEU is dead so the Flash variant is obsolete on announcement. The one off IM that can’t really serve with repaints seems like an unnecessary cost to incur. Both likely had below expected numbers. Unexpected for HT and not most collectors.
Surprised only because we haven't seen it before
@@KeCoCollects Very true. HT has been operating differently since the pandemic though so we’ve been seeing changes in some way each year. They don’t have the Marvel PO machine going this year and are probably re evaluating. Hopefully this doesn’t become a larger trend. 🤞
Sooooo... Triple Zero (aka C3PO mold use extension) didn't make the cut off?? Pity. good riddance to the others. No time at all to panic. Hot Toys has may be looking at the market and conditions are such that gravy train cash grabs are no longer profitable. Hopefully they will go away from the Apple style "you'll buy what we make" approach and poll customers as to what they want to buy for their collections.
Well, that "chrome Cody" is not being well received either lol
Since i have read it i have search for possible figures that gonna be CANCELLED😮
1.Kang
2.Black Manta
3.BP Wakanda Shuri
4.She-Hulk
5.Spiderman 2099 Across The Verse
6.BP Mech Strike
7.League of Legends Kai'Shai/Ashe
8.One Piece Monkey/Zoro
9.Indiana Jones
10.Han Solo
Han Solo??
yea I think we will be getting 9-10. Not so sure about she hulk being that we got DD first.
@@KeCoCollects yeah because many people dont like his big hair so he is on the list that i have made for possibility that can be canceled to🥶
@@kennylang-uf1gp i hope i still can add Kang and Shuri to my collection😅
Its a mess, they should just stick with it and make them. I mean, when was this Flash announced? Months and months ago, and only now they acknowledge the low PO numbers? They should assume their mistake reading the market, produce them, and be more careful next time. I mean, Chrome Cody yesterday? Whats that
I'm sure it being tagged "limited" will be enough to drive out folks for Chrome Cody
Yes..... NO company works like that, I congratulate hot toys for canceling those figures that no one really cared about and believe me, anything they release from Star Wars is going to sell.
@@Gato-Waton I cared about the Flash figure, Ive read other disappointed comments too so the "figures nobody cares about" isnt 100% true. That said, yeah I agree Star Wars sales, but Im an only DC collector so these 6 announcements in less than 48 hours mean nothing to me. Finally we get something DC thats not a Batman figure and it gets cancelled 🤕
Chao hot toys ...

Time for a channel name change? Something like: KeCo the 1/6 FeArMoNgEr? Something more spicy to mirror the content? Also, is it just me, but is anyone else getting motion sickness as a result of Keco's bobbing, weaving and gesticulations (a bit like Dr Evil's Hard Knock Life routine). I'm off to get some dramamine.
🤣 So your the guy
I like Dr Evil lol. I AM animated though, not sure I can just sit still , but I'm sorry I am hard to watch. I have considered doing just a podcast if people would listen to it 🤔
You aren’t hard to watch you are fun to watch!
@@KeCoCollectsdo a pod with other collectors as well?
Kinds crazy that they're cancelling these since they've been up for PO for so long.
Seems as though "unforseen market alteration" = no one wanted the ugly ass iron man or the criminal
Right?? Kinda late to be like, "nah..." lol
@@KeCoCollectsprobably also a strategy to entice people to pre-order more frequently too!
It’s a little unfortunate for those who are wanting those figures but for me I’m not interested in woke DEI characters, especially the flash actor being a little pedo. I guess the saying go woke go broke has a bit of truth to it.
Question for you, KeCo I would like to get a phantom Menace Darth Maul figure, in your opinion would that be something to hold out for or would you bite the bullet and buy backwards to get the DX Darth Maul?
Like always, I enjoyed the content and look forward to your next video.
If nothing comes for the anniversary of Ep1, you better go backwards
@@KeCoCollects always appreciate your thoughts and advice. Thank you
Hey we can celebrate less money going into Ezra Miller's pockets at least lol, but that weird ass Iron Man was pretty cool and trippy and I don't even like Iron Man figures, shame for folks who wanted it. I definitely don't remember figures being cancelled after pre-order goes live before! They even made Thena and Gilgamesh despite nobody buying them.
Right? Eternals figures and NOT an Iron Man? Weird
This video is NOT fearmongering (I laugh whenever you mention that) and is cause for concern. How can businesses make us pay NRDs when the manufacturer can simply cancel a figure? It's a one sided business practice. That said, I'm not panicked just yet. These figures must have sold truly, truly poorly. Like less than 500 figures.
This is a huge blunder for Hot Toys public image. How can we confidently preorder their products if we now know the company can and will cancel a figure at any moment? Hot Toys needs to choose their projects better so cancellations of figures at the preorder stage don't happen.
My thoughts exactly
有钱人
Not good, collector's cannot pre order with confidence, as a doubt will now be in the background! I have never been keen on HT's business model, they are quite arrogant at times and do not respect the consumer! They do not communicate or give updates and interviews either! Good communication is a main stay of any business! If this was a UK or US company customer service would be a lot better!
Not your average business approach for sure
Honestly, i think they canceled it only cause pre-orders didn’t meet the standards to make the figure. Sucks for who ever wants it though. I love the flash , but the movie to me was terrible, all the Batman scenes where amazing, i actually liked younger barry more, the third act could have been better and the cgi was god awful.
For a major movie, the CGI was a train wreck
not surprised on the cancellation of young barry, it was the only figure from the flash that I did not PO. good content
Thanks for watching it!
