This is a wonderful song, so well sung by Aoife. I'm glad that it became part of the repertoire of I'm With Her, using Aoife's great vocal and an improved instrumental part.
This song was originally played by Julian lage and two other men as a slow jazz song. When Julian, Chris, and Aoife got together they wrote Julian's song Ryland in a way that it would accommodate the change in instruments and genre.
Interesting though b/c Julian wrote this melody as Ryland and then she later wrote lyrics, from what I understand. So this is really close to the source of both song and tune.
Thank you ever so much Dean. I had caught Chris and Julian this same week in NYC. Unfortunately, no Aiofe. This is so sweet.
What a completely delightful performance. Bravo!!!
My favorite music in the world right now!!
Behind that politely engaging persona, that Julian is as fearless as he is humorous. Vocals by Aoife as always wonderful.
I saw them in Albany, NY the next evening and they played this song. Nice memory.
Hey, do you by any chance remember who wrote the song that Aoife performed about Elephant Rock? I can't find it anywhere.
Precious
God, this is wonderful.
Best wishes to all from Less Than Face Productions.

This made me laugh and bawl at the same time. Perfect.
Never heard of them, but I do like them. Very talented.
Fantastic❤
Oh. My. God!
Yeah!!
Ryland!
Love Julian's tune. If anybody could have written lyrics to it, it would be Aoife.
Damn
Who wrote this song?!?! I cannot figure it out and I love it!

Ok but did not give me cold chills. Music that puts up the goose bumps is the real thing to me.
did you see it in person? It was incredible live

I like Aoife O'Donovan solo (with her guitar) better :-)
