I think now with ssd no need to sleep mode on Mac/PC &should be removed from OS. Hibernate mode is power efficient & the user work restoration is guaranteed
With hibernate, if you have a power outage, the computer will restart your session where it left. With sleep mode, it will completely reboot. Also, with sleep mode you are wearing the computer memory faster because the RAM never turns completely off in sleep mode even if it stays with very low current, you are keeping your RAM on 24/24 7/7
I loved using hibernate when my laptop had a hard drive, but when I switched to SSD I hesitate using hibernation mode because I'm afraid it will wear out my SSD. I wish Windows allowed changing the location of the hibernation file, but according to my research they don't.
@@One.Zero.One101 ooh this is a hidden and important piece of information I never would've thought about. Thank you at LOT. How did you figure this out? Good with computers, is it a hobby? A video or person?
As you presented I don't see why anybody will choose "shut down". It seems like the "hybernate" option is cutting power and keep all the files in RAM. Which is good. Also you say that over night you will choose "shut down" because you want your computer to be "in the best possible running state". Wait a minute: so "hybernate" means my computer will not be in the best possible running state? Than why would I choose "hybernate" even for couple of hours. The starting time would not be too much longer.
It's the files and the apps. When you shut down, it closes all the apps and files. But in hybernate, you can return back to your working setup just like it was before hybernating. Everything still open, files, apps, tabs... You don't even have to save your work before hybernating. You can keep working on it when you come back. And it comsumes zero power. But it takes time waking back from hybernation. This is the best option if you have a fast SSD hard drive. Sleep is the same idea, everything still open. The difference is, it goes to sleep faster, wakes up faster, but consumes power while sleeping. Shut down is necessary every now and then just to refresh the computer.
Kinda if your switching it off and on over and over it may damage you computer but if your turning it off when your away from home or sleeping it’s fine to just shut it off.
I don't even have the hibernate option lol but thanks for the vid bro' good one ! quick question tho; is it bad in any way to put your PC on sleep mode every day after you're done using it? like I do that every time I go to sleep in order to save my thousands of internet tabs ...^^'
I have mi notebook and i found that, when in the sleep mode there isn't any light indicators(which on laptops i used earlier had) although the LED light present only light up while charging... Is there anything i can do to get this feature back
If I go to sleep and leave it plugged in, which one should I choose. And can I also leave the laptop open while it is asleep or hibernating, or is it better to close to top
Ive got in isue with hibernate mode on my ASUS F556UQ notebook. I only can wake it up again by using the power button. Ive tried all kind of things to use mouse or Keyboard to do this, but it doesnt react. Did energie options, device manager, CMD, Bios update etc. But its doesnt work. I need this funktion to leave my notebook closed while connected with monitors. I dont like to open the notebook again for storage reasons. Someone can help me with that issue?
