24 Little-Known Tips to Boost Your Laptop's Speed

- You're working on something important when out of nowhere comes the “low battery” notification. You speed up, and… the screen goes black. You didn't finish and can only hope it saved the progress. Sounds like you could use some ways to make your laptop battery last longer!
How about to change the background? Yes, a beach picture as your wallpaper can warm up your heart on cold days. But its vibrancy comes at a cost, and that cost is your battery. Or you can keep it cool. When it's too hot or too cold, your laptop can’t work as efficiently, so it wastes energy. It does better in cooler air than the heat, as long as it’s not freezing cold. Or... But enough with the spoilers!

SUMMARY:
You can turn on the Energy Saver (for Mac) or Power Saver (for Windows) mode in your settings.
Your laptop screen, or rather its backlight, is one of the hungriest energy eaters in the whole system.
When your laptop is in sleep mode, it’s still actively using its memory and draining the battery.
When you free up your hard drive, you’re making the whole system more productive.
When it's too hot or too cold, your laptop can’t work as efficiently, so it wastes energy.
Any laptop can handle a certain number of charge cycles in its lifetime, typically around 500.
USB sticks, an external hard drive, webcam, wireless mouse, external keyboard, and other peripherals are all powered by your motherboard. Even when you aren’t using them, they take away precious energy.
Check what apps run in the background and consume the most power, even when you aren’t using them.
Change your settings to leave all the updates for when you're plugged in.
Your email and your social networking accounts love your attention, and they use notifications to grab it.
Whenever you’re plugged into a power outlet, update your system if there’s a chance.
A solid-state drive runs on flash memory that takes less battery to function than a usual hard drive.
You can disable graphics accelerators in energy-saving settings.
Even a small mismatch in wattage can overload and damage both the laptop and the battery.
An external battery pack will be your guarantee you won’t lose any important data or get stuck without a laptop when you need it.

Its better to use the laptop plugged in. Modern laptops are already using the energy directly from the charger instead from the battery. So its completely safe
Because you would feel your battey can run out any time

The only bad thing about an SSD is frequent writing and deletion of data tires it out.
1:30 it's actually enough. Laptop usually goes to hibernate mode that usually takes no battery use. Terminating apps and shutting down laptop actually takes power, so why not just freeze everything and come back later?
The laptop does become slower after time
@@rampardosms True, but what specifically becomes slower? If we're talking about how windows is slower over time, just format and reinstall windows which works 100% of the time. Storage wise, computers write speed do tend to slow down as the hard drive fills up.
@@rampardosms CPUs and Ram won't fail you atleast for 10 years given how 2nd hand cpus are generally more resilient than any 2nd hand pc parts while Ram could last you 8 to 12 years.
I do have a laptop but I don't use it anymore, but I am a mobile user and a pc user. For mobile, I charge it after it reaches 0%. I also, turn on Low Power mode because I don't have to wait around 1 hour to fully finish it's cycle to 50 - 80%.

haha lol
There is no need to unplug the laptop, The modern laptops have an inbuilt system and power management circuits on the hardware so you are probably not using the battery when plugged in.
Sounds like a PC to me XD
Me in 8 years (Lenovo Z710).
I keep mine plugged in all the time too, I got a gaming laptop so my battery life is short already about maybe 3hrs and 30mins give or take. I keep mine on the balanced setting for when not gaming

Hello verified channel
So helpful when I’m editing my RUclips videos while not being plugged in!! My Mac dies so quickly 😡
I recommend all of you to follow 5-95 rule(which is not a rule actually) to make your battery last long. Plug in at 5% and off at 95%.
keyur unadkat Thanks!! I’ll try that. Any reason why? ☺️
@@juliamarian as in the video.. u get to use full charging cycle and you neither drain full nor load the battery full thus decreasing stress on it. I also recommend the same for the phone. You won't believe my phone battery lasts for 2 days!!
keyur unadkat that probably my issue!! I use till it dies and charge till 100 and plus some 😳 lol
Great tips and advice here
li ion battery saving thank you my laptop needed this it works!!:)
I always leave it plugged in since it just sits on my desk all the time as it is too large and heavy to carry around and I thought that when the battery is fully charged and the laptop is plugged in, the battery is completely ignored (something which I'm pretty sure it's true). At least on Windows...
I also believed that WiFi and Bluetooth only use battery when a signal is sent over them (maybe that's if they are already connected) and that Bluetooth doesn't constantly search. WiFi I know constantly searches for all networks that you have selected automatically connect which is also a security flaw as someone can spoof those WiFi networks and then steal all data paint through it. But I believe that it is only for networks that you have selected automatically connect, so either turn that, or WiFi itself off to face battery and improve security.
Too late. My laptop is all messed up now. But I knew some of those tips already. But good video as always
...
I don't think that this can help save your laptop. But alrighty
But I will save my laptop because it's coming tomorrow 🙂
So basically to save your battery, you change all your settings to complete opposite of the gaming settings
which is why gaming laptop battery is bad compared to regular laptop battery
I leave my laptop plugged in all the time. I have it on top of two 1x1 lathes that keeps it fairy cool. The battery I replaced last December lasted me since 2011, not bad since I use my laptop ALL DAY LONG!!
Is it safe to use laptop while plugged in???
@@pankajshinde1366 Yes it's safe because once your battery is full it stops charging and it works on power only, atleast that's what the Lenovo service guy told me.
2:59 if you keep on table it will also blocked
basically he is saying do magic and hang it in air
No.😇..there is a table made specially for laptops...💻...it bring out air. There are tiny air conditioners under it...😊 ( new technology😎) { i have one ✌🏻}....by the way, he meant to do anything but not block the air.....and he is correct...its common✌🏻✌🏻
You post this topic literally every week
for me, I keep my laptop plugged in when I know im going to need a lot of battery life and then I keep it unplugged until the last minute when im at home.
i mostly keep my laptop plugged in bcoz i play some games on it so it drains more battery and also whenever i plug in my laptop while playing then it enhances the performance
I love all your videos !!!

I'm just glad I only have a desktop

I do use conversation mode..(lenovo) 55-60% juice level. Daily turn on computer by battery and drain 2-3% more that way it's ready to charge upto 5% daily or twice a day in morning. Thus modern li-poly batterys don't have any memory effect so I call upon it safe.
