Typical problem for Bose QC25, QC35 and maybe for new Bose CQ45 acoustic noise cancelling headphones/headset with no sound, one side not working, right or left ear not working or music is distorted. Maybe, when liesten too loud music, it damage speakers - driver. I also try repairing method with a piece of paper, but this do not help resolve problem. In this video also you see how to disassemble and assemble Bose headphones, how to change ear-pads cushions. Before this job you need bought a new speaker driver.

Thank you so much for putting together this thorough walkthrough. I had zero soldering experience before undertaking this repair, and was able to do it successfully with really no issues. One thing I did find helpful tho was another video mentioned using a hair dryer instead of a heat gun to soften the adhesive without warping the plastic cover. I started out using the heat gun on low but quickly stopped when it started warping the plastic, and switched to the hair dryer and had no further issue.
Thank you again, my Bose qc25s are probably my favorite headphones I've ever had and it was highly rewarding to be able to repair them instead of having to spend $300 on new ones

    Fantastic one!
Thanks a lot: I just had my BOSE QC25 failing yesterday and I was like "Oh no, why does it happen to me now?! Am I gonna spend 300 dollars again in a new headphone?!?"
I'm gonna order new drivers now and, hopefully I will be able to repair it like you did.
    Thanks man! 😀

@@TechscrewDIY Yes: I bought these amazing headphones in 2017.
I have one question if you don't mind: why is it necessary to put some glue where the wires go through the cap ( 4mn43s) so that no air can come in?

@@HerkinYo Hey, i basicly put in the new speaker without properly closing the seames around them losing audio quallity, i opened them back up and put them in better with closing all the seames and now it playes beautifully. no loss in audio quallity as far as i can hear. noise canceling is also way better now. i'd suggest just getting whatever you can get your hands on to with most ratings.

    Note to QC35 II owners:
It seems Bose changed the desgin of the speaker cover a bit, I had to break 2 melted down screwed around the speaker housing + the glue isn't nearly as weak as shown in this video, you will have to heat up the glue quite a bit and use more force to pry it open.
    Good luck

I am facing the same peoblem...the design is changed a bit and i see 2 screw like taba there but no screw inside. Did you just broke these off? And what did you use to melt the glue. Regular hairdryer? And did you remove Any circuit boards when you heated the unit. I am little bit afraid to heat the electronics And i am thinking of desoldering some wires first to move them away.

I have the same interrogation 😢 how did you manage to do this ?

  • @Tom_Oz
    @Tom_Oz 2 года назад

So I've managed to repair it but I have to say it's not exactly as good as what it used to be and I think I know why: I guess it is because I didn't put enough glue on the wires and around the new speaker, hence permitting a bit of exterior noise to come inside! Firstly I didn't understand why you say to put glue on these parts, but now I understand (or maybe I'm wrong? I don't know, please correct me if I'm wrong).
But it's still pretty well, I'd say it works at 85% quality compared to what it was but, hey, I saved a lot of money so that's ok :)
Plus I will probably try to open it again to add a bit more glue on it and fix it so it's 100% as good as before :))
    Thx again!

then you can replace both speaker drivers, so that the sound is balanced, just choose the right size drivers for your headphones.

  • @hansblake

Does it matter which wire goes to which side of the speaker? In other words, like in electricity, should black go to black and red go to red, or does it even matter? I haven't tried yet, and I have 0% experience in soldering. I just didn't want to get in there and be like now what?

    • @TechscrewDIY

yes, but you have to understand that they are not the originals, and if the sound is significantly different from other side, you will have to replace both drivers to get a symmetrical sound.
