When you say "first solder them alone" at :42, is this to better expose the inner wire on the green and gold wires, or some other reason? I don't have much soldering experience with tiny wire like these and want to make sure I get a good connection.

What if you get an ohm reading on the speaker but the speaker doesn't work?

I dropped my interface and it broke my trs adapter, I bought another one and now the left side isn't working. I get no sound when plugging it in but a little bit of static and an ohm reading when I make contact with the speaker. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if the speaker is actually broken, I've dropped these way harder than what happened today in the past. I have tested different headphones on my interface and it works fine btw. I have the 770 80 ohm. Thanks.

Question regarding soldering the driver wires to the jack. I want to make my Sony mdr7506 balanced with dual 3.5mm outs. The driver wire only uses + and -, the jack has left, right and ground. Where do I solder those wires onto the jack?
