What did you expect, seriously? IndyCars are way slower than F1 cars. If they started at the same time, the Ferrari would leave the IndyCar far behind even before the first turn. Just think about it.
Love these videos but I can’t help but wish for better editing. Just as the F1 catches the Indy car and is about to pass, the edit cuts to a poor camera angle and we miss the slipstreaming and pass. Must be a SkySports production ; )
Indycar took off huge amount of downforce in 2018 in order to put things into driver's hands (rather than car performance) and make racing more entertaining. Yes, 2018 cars are slower, but racing has been superb so far.
Actually we've seen laptimes roughly match those of last season, and some records have been broken too; Jordan King-notable F2 driver for the past few years-broke the track record at St. Pete by about .2 seconds; this was on a Mid-high downforce street circuit, no less!
I think everybody knows F1 is faster than Indycar, but I'm not sure how much. So have two questions. It looks like F1 is using hypersoft .Is Indycar using red (which is soft), and if F1 use DRS, is indycar using push to pass button? If the answer is no, that's not the difference.
Okay there is a problem with simulation Indy Cars would be faster on the Straight and F1 would catch up on the curves and when it slowed down for Curve but straight up on straightway the Indy would be 5 faster
The sim itself maybe good i tried it once for me this is rather an arcade game but its a differend story. The mods are very badly made and unrealistic in every aspect.
Lee Tramp The mods definitely vary in quality, but the vanilla cars are pretty dead on. Maybe feeling a little bit lighter than they should. RFactor2 has it in the bag though.
These videos are pretty pointless, but somewhat entertaining. I am sure you could hit a golf ball with a bat a base ball with a golf club. Same kind of thing.
IndyCars aren't set up for road racing. They're are mostly set up for oval tracks. Texas, Indianapolis, Daytona and etc. F1 wouldn't stand a chance against a IndyCar on a oval track.
Not really, set up changes from track to track, most of it comes down to cost and complexity, 8 speed gearbox and hybrid vs 6 speed, Indy cars should be slower just on those
Because most of the money is spent on researching and developing new ideas and technologies to make the cars go faster and faster while still complying with the heavy regulations and restrictions imposed on it by the FIA. If the FIA wanted F1 to simply be insanely fast, it would remove all restrictions on car development and component/tech usage. And F1 would be insanely fast, but also insanely dangerous. Its not really a "waste of money". What other racing engine produces near 800bhp with a V6 engine capacity of just 1.6 ltrs? And that's excluding the power from the hybrid part of the engine. Mercedes engines are said to have surpassed 1000bhp in total(with hybrid energy included) this year with that same specification. That is insane. And that's just the engine part alone. In comparison, a 1200bhp Porsche 919 Hybrid EVO built with no developmental restrictions has only just managed to beat the F1 lap record at Spa by only 0.7 seconds. That shows how performance-efficient the F1 cars truly are. And that's due to spending lots of time and money trying to develop fast cars under heavy restrictions.
Dave Mitch everything is ok but porsche 919 evo is still 919-based. It isn't completely "unregulated" as you say, it is a slightly "tweaked" 919. Also it has still less powerful ICE and 200 kg more weight, so...
@ Алексей Кастевич - In what universe is 1200bhp "less powerful" than 950bhp(which is about the power produced by both Ferrari and Renault engines, while Mercs produce a little bit more)? So what if the 919 EVO is based on the 919? If the FIA allows it, F1 teams can also upgrade their engine power to 1200bhp with unrestricted fuel flow rate, use exhaust-blown double-decker diffusers and put wheel covers/fenders on and claim that its "based on an F1 car". And I'm willing to bet everything that that particular F1 car would shit on the 919 EVO on all tracks.
Dave Mitch sorry, I mentioned that even with fuel restrictions ICE of Formula 1 cars (about 780 hp) is more powerful than 720 hp of Porsche's. 1200 hp is combined power of ICE+ERS which isn't available every time. The difference is that 919 with a lil bit aero tweaks remains the basic 919 and F1 with blown diffuser, closed wheels etc would've been a completely new car. You just have to fully redesign it.
anonumous i hate every thing yes but the guys in F1 get enough money to do so. If the F1 cars would cost as much as an Indy car they would have tons of money and couldn’t spend it. And it’s not like the money in the F1 is like gone after it’s spend. There are people working for the teams, engineers creating the cars and the people who actually build the parts of those cars.
F1 vs. Indy at Baku, this oughta be an interesting on-
(IndyCar gets a corner and a half headstart)
....Aaaand there goes the competition.
What did you expect, seriously? IndyCars are way slower than F1 cars. If they started at the same time, the Ferrari would leave the IndyCar far behind even before the first turn.

2:05 when you try to do a bottas and it works out
One things for certain. The Indy car sound and looks far better than the F1 car.
The sound yes but the looks definetelly no
You should do this race again with the vrc one
Indy: Speed
F1: Corners
Of course 😁👍🏻
Reduce drag on f1 and it would blow by Indy at 15 mph+
@@lorrimiller7010 Can an F1 car really hit 240?
F1: Braking
F1: Acceleration
@@lorrimiller7010 put a 1000hp engine on the indy and double your downforce and redo the simulation :)
Can you please link the mods?
which game ?
I was surprised IndyCar took some catching up by the F1

Petr Hlavac Even if you take the preceding IndyCars: they're also slower than F1 cars.
Actually we've seen laptimes roughly match those of last season, and some records have been broken too; Jordan King-notable F2 driver for the past few years-broke the track record at St. Pete by about .2 seconds; this was on a Mid-high downforce street circuit, no less!
JumboJ99, true Marco Andretti nearly broke the track record at Bell Isle by about 0.1 seconds
I think everybody knows F1 is faster than Indycar, but I'm not sure how much. So have two questions. It looks like F1 is using hypersoft .Is Indycar using red (which is soft), and if F1 use DRS, is indycar using push to pass button? If the answer is no, that's not the difference.

No. In street/road course setup the top speed of an IndyCar is around 330 - 338 km/h or 205 - 210 mph.
The Indycar doesn't seem to accelerate as hard as the real thing.
Probably because of the longer gearing for top speed.
This game is so unrealistic.
Lee Tramp It’s actually one of the most accurate sums ever made but ok. No matter what this result makes sense.
The sim itself maybe good i tried it once for me this is rather an arcade game but its a differend story. The mods are very badly made and unrealistic in every aspect.

MUMBAI MERI JAAN the sound of the Indycar isn’t even close though
Which Mod is the Indycar mod
Why are you watching this when you don't even know about the basics?

GeSchmidtt Yeah, PERFECTLY the same kind of thing, really...
Nope. Not the same
I can hit a golf ball with a bat probably 500-600 ft. If I used a golf club to hit baseball maybe 150 ft.
Indy car can be compared may be to GP2 car ... may be new GP2 is a little bit faster.
IndyCars aren't set up for road racing. They're are mostly set up for oval tracks. Texas, Indianapolis, Daytona and etc. F1 wouldn't stand a chance against a IndyCar on a oval track.
Sam Chu Same can be said about F1 cars. F1 cars aren’t set up for oval races.
Not really, set up changes from track to track, most of it comes down to cost and complexity, 8 speed gearbox and hybrid vs 6 speed, Indy cars should be slower just on those
Where is the Mercedes
IndyCar deserves to go to baku but the America only racing is just ridiculous
The F1 is way quicker. All for only 80 times the budget of the Indycar.
turboboy1983, what a waste of money then.

No people in Baku :) Dead city.
F1 is faster but costs many many times more to run a season
SFHoe who cares about the money. The performance counts
Bf4 Newbie you need money to make the car so it can or form ;)

F1 is fastest than Indy car 14 secunds in Austin Texas.
Indy car lost to F2.
I know how you feel indy car guys.... I bought my car to go straight too..... bends are too much work
No work, just the indycars have less than half the downforce of the F1 cars and a less powerful 300 hp engine, that's the difference between the two

Chupa f Indy. Kkk
F1 FOREVER.
nice cartoon
Randy Hutchison It’s one of the best sim racing games ever, with physics almost dead on real life
