Cobradriver99 you’re right. They’re sensitive. People who don’t know what they’re doing tend to blow them up. A proper tune with the torque curve stretched out along with high pressure fuel pump internals is a must. Can’t just throw mods at the car and expect it to run good. Oh and a kozmic oil catch can helps relieve crank pressure a ton

Btw my car has been tuned since 10k with bolt ons. 52k I started running e30 along with an aggressive tune. I’m currently approaching 85k and the car tested 180+ compression across the board 2k miles ago.
Wannabe Tuners the n54 is stronger when modded compared to the n55. Twin turbo vs 1 slightly larger turbo on the n55. I'll be posting a vid with an n54 when I can find one down to race :)
Wannabe Tuners just much less potential than a n54. The weight difference alone gives the ms3 an advantage assuming ~330whp with a e-blend....an n54 on an e blend with full bolt ons is ~450whp/500wtq, a n55 is ~360whp/450wtq roughly. On regular pump the n55 is probably less than the speed3, the n54 is still close to 400whp/400wtq. Really the n55 is a cost reduction motor from the n54....lots of differences.

BMW is running map 7 on the jb4 Mods are Catless downpipe, vrsf 7inch ic, bms intake, cpe charge pipe and alpina tcu flash. Didn't brake boost either. Once I get the car tuned we will we run. Just wanted to see where my car was at compared to a tuned fbo speed3.

Mazdaspeed3's could always hold their own in a roll. The N54s were their own monsters, but as a person who had year 1 of the 135i, full M-packaged + fbo, I'd gladly take my 15' M235i(N55) any day of the week. While I can commend BMW on owning up on the N54 issues, and not jerking around owners, the 6 x fuel pumps, multi waste-gate replacements, etc... N55 s main problem is how much it's forced to taper boost towards the top RPM bad. N54 and B58 shows what happens when stock turbos can do when they can keep that boost with tune, until you have to shift up a gear. If an N55 has any of the turbo internals replaced, not hitting peak HP 2k rpm short of redline, might be in for a treat.

Gen 2 have a better final drive gen 1 has better trans and is lighter. No big difference in the 2010-13. Gen 1 has different parts on some stuff. Gen 1 are way better in my opinion.

I am really surprised Mazdaspeed variants as 6 or 3 didn`t became more popular, they are quite fast cars overall for less money. Here in germany it is pretty much all about VW Golf GTI and other sportive Golf variants and I can`t stand them for that very reason, besides them being one of the most blant and boring cars anyway. Everybody has them, everybody likes them it is extremly difficult to find a MPS (Mazdaspeed) instead in good condition over here.
Also I only have 4 bolt ons too? Turbo back exhaust, intake, FMIC, Bov! Speeds are just slow compared to a proper n55. Glad your car is running strong now.

I drove against a Mazdaspeed 3 yesterday when I saw it speeding by everybody. Never saw one before but knew it was special how fast it was going and with the air scoop on the hood. I thought I'd test it out against my Mustang 3.7L. It turns better than my car as I couldn't catch up to it very well during one, but on the straights I overpowered it. I'm not sure what year it was but mine's a 2014. He had some racing stickers on the back glass. As he got on the freeway onramp he saw I was driving up on him earlier so waved goodbye like he was gonna whoop me bad. So I get on the freeway and pass him going around 130mph. Later on in a somewhat tight freeway turn he jumped on the gas and I did so later. I was going around 110mph and him probably 115 or so I'm guessing. I started catching up again but we had to slow down due to traffic. It was a fun run. I'm thinking he has some upgrades with all those racing stickers. I personally have a modified Airaid CAI, 87 SCT tune, Triple Tred Assurance Goodyear tires, and Powerstop drilled/slotted rotors and pads for stopping power. He drove up on me after I slowed down from the 130 and was motioning his hand up and down which I assume means my car was too bouncy. Probably. I have stock springs and other such things. I don't feel comfortable in tight turns or any turns for that matter. My car doesn't handle them very well, but it's a good well rounded car and hardly have any trouble passing anyone, sports vehicles included. Had to check out this car though. Cool ride. I wouldn't mind driving one B)
You upgraded your brakes for extra stopping power? If your wheels can lock up while braking at full threshold, the brakes are 100% effective. The slotted rotors only give better cooling to eliminate brake fade (you would only get this if you were trying to completely stop at like 150 or something). What you want to upgrade to stop faster is your tires. More grippy tires means that it will be able to take more braking power without locking up.

The guy in the 3 series isn't holding gear, can't drive for shit. I've owned an MPS, I now own an LCI M135i. The MPS is a dog off the line, terrible. Lots of torque steer too. Not that fast... The M135i makes it feel slow.
