Sad to see a great local brewery close down - really unfortunate! You know, folks, these small businesses are the heart of our communities. Amazing beers, fantastic people, real American quality, and now it’s gone because of this economy that just doesn’t support them. We should be doing everything we can to protect our local businesses, our local jobs! I’ll tell you, if I were in charge, breweries like this wouldn’t be closing; they’d be expanding - believe me!
good luck. you're a real dude, doing the best you can. this is the opposite of cambridge brewing company's imminent closing, which they announced publicly 4 months ahead of time. they aren't selling, though,
Sucks man! Wondering if they are keeping the brewery open and just shedding the tap room, or both under water at the moment? Either way as they say when one door closes another one opens, maybe it's the universe trying to show you what's around the corner. Finger's crossed you find something even better!
I’m only going on what you’ve said so far…but seems like the owner has been as accommodating as possible given the situation. If he doesn’t have the money coming in to sustain a business, he can’t keep going on forever even if he wants the best for his employees. Sorry you’re going through this.
And most of the beer at most of the breweries tastes the same as most of the beers at the brewery down the road. Friends I know are going back to the clean crisp lower calorie beers. The big beers were fun for a while, but price and calories are making the primary consumer go back to lower carb lighter beers or seltzers.
I agree. We literally had no notice. I look back and think I should've grabbed more. I honestly am considering grabbing more with my time off now they're closed. So much food left in the fridges and walk in.
I think the owners were very generous to allow you 100% profit from the sales into your own pockets from their stock. You should be grateful for that and thank them, because it's their money, not yours!
We tried, but we only had less than 10 staff trying to clean out an entire kitchen's worth of food. I honestly should've grabbed more. I got a couple pounds of chicken, 20 wings, a dozen eggs. That's it.
If all sales were going to staff, I'm wondering if they were paying utilities and whatnot out of their own pocket for any days that you remain open. They probably couldn't afford to do that for very long. Just my thinking, but I don't know. I really hope things work out for ya man.
@DarwinsBeerReviews yeah I was just thinking expenses in general. That's just the only thing I can think of that would keep them from selling through inventory.
with hardship brings opportunity - not easy to say so early after a big change - and only in hindsight and experience do they ring true. CHEERS! keep up the good work! Inflation and high interest rates have consequences for small businesses.
Whats up bro? Whats your plan ? do you have enough subscribers to sustain you for a bit? The whole economy is very shaky. I work in dairy, making butter, and its slowing down too. I enjoy your reviews bro.
Plan is to relax with the kiddos for a bit while Kaity's out of town. Look for work soon. Subscribers? To be transparent. I make $75 a month from this channel... It pays some of the beers I review...

All great points. Sounds like things are going in a positive direction. Update coming soon when I speak to new owners!

4 months would've been a really helpful heads up...
Why say my brewery instead of the brewery I work for? Honest question.
Length of title. I hope that makes sense?

Looks like a sale has happened... Update coming when I know the whole to do.

It's been a really rough ride and the staff has suffered hugely, but this was a huge help.
So many new breweries came out of the woodwork in the last 5 years that the supply of customers couldnt keep up with demand.
I've been thinking that for a while. Too much supply, not enough demand. Doesn't help that younger generations are drinking way less than older ones.
Plus beer consumption is down overall; alcohol in general too.
And most of the beer at most of the breweries tastes the same as most of the beers at the brewery down the road. Friends I know are going back to the clean crisp lower calorie beers. It's been hard for the restaurant industry too. Rising costs. Rent raises. Etc.
We're in the downside of a cycle. Times will get better. I think that things will pick up in early 2025.
I hope so too for the industry.
The leftover food could be donated, so it doesn’t go to waste. Best of luck.

~~~ Tough times in the industry now. The big contraction is going on nationwide. No one likes stress and uncertainty. Positive vibes for the future.
Thank you for the positive vibes!
I did thank them. It was a huge blessing we got. Granted, I think we all wish this situation didn't have to get to this point..
maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan, I hope everyone can stuff their freezers full of food. Granted, produce and such won''t last long.
Utilities? I guess you said "whatnot." Rent, insurance, backpay, inventory, loans. There's way more to worry about than an electric bill...
Another door will open for sure! You are too much of a go-getter to not find your next path... So... What beer was that?
Lion Stout. Thank you! I'll try!
Covid shut my brewery down
I'm sorry. Covid was the worst.
1.2 million US deaths. The busineses too. Billions of dollars lost in the economy. It didn't need to be that bad...
@@SmartDave60Nah, not “live and learn” for something this colossal. Darwin is right. It didn’t need to be that bad.
@@Goldenwhatever I’m saying make the proper adjustments next time.
@@SmartDave60I hope not...
you always talk about the kitchen and food, and paying the dishwasher, so I thought you were the Chef, but I guess not.
No, I'm a bartender/server/manager.
You'll have some time off, look into banching out into technology while your looking for your next job. Just trying to help another brother out.
