Fantastic walkthrough - thank you - and it gave me the confidence to replace the clutch on my 2L. Pretty much exactly the same process, although some slight bolt differences and perhaps a bigger gearbox to manhandle around too. Oh, and the clutch is a pull-type so the release arm needs removing to allow the gearbox off and the thrust bearing needs popping in with the arm *after* the gearbox is back on (there are a couple of videos with further details on here covering the details but in an Elantra). Love the work lad . I've changed my gearbox other day as it was faulty on a fiat punto 2007 And now the car does not go in gear. I think its the slave cylinder but not sure . Could a faulty slave cylinder prevent it to go in gears? And thanks for the fiat punto clutch video u posted.
@@WMCS yes it goes in gears when engine is switched off. But when engine is running ot doesn't go in gears. I'll try to pump it up few times to build pressure. Thanks kevin

Smooth your video on astra helped me change clutch myself. Shame am not more local (Derby). Regarding clutch filements there often seems to be multiple choices for same engines for example I now have coupe 2.0)(FD02 AHJ). And there are listing for 220mm and 215mm. Yep. Two new Milwaukee. One high torque. And one mid range. Both 1/2 drive.

Does it go into gear with the engine switched off. Pump the pedal quickly multiple times to build up pressure in the hydraulics. Then try it.

Hy Kevin your sockets do not wear starting you ratchet before you put it on the bolt.
Yes sometimes. I replace sockets and all tools as they wear and brake. It’s a constant replacement.

How does it take up drive if the flywheel spins like that , when you turned it , it seemed not to be connected to the crankshaft
Turning the crank is always easy I suppose., I always have to make sure it doesn’t spin.
Think might jump couple teeth on timing belt was too free
