Huge huge huge fan here. I don't care what anyone thinks but to me Angelina Jordan Astar whatever she covers becomes the best cover ever, if not better than the original in some cases. Angelina is a one of a kind, as I (and a "few" others) see it. I have no doubt about the uniqueness of Angelina`s talent for music. As I see it; - from what you have heard so far, I`d strongly recomand that you put your ear and mind to the very start in public for Angelina. It is a great one to carry allong with you as you go further into the amazing universe of Angelina. She auditioned for the NGT show by taking on Billie Holiday songs, as you probably know already. Her first one, "Gloomy Sunday", I had stored far far back in my mind from many many decades ago, from the time as Billie was on the radio more frequently. Then suddenly one evening this tiny little angel showed up on TV here in Norway, singing her heart out, sounding so much like Billie, and even conveying the mood and spirit of the song so stunningly well. I think nothing could have helped my keeping my jaw in place that evening.
So this is one to bring with you. No doubt. Be sure even to note even to listen to the judges, and watch their reactions as well. They had no idea of what was about to happen.

Angelina has covered Adele numerous times, and a Bond song "Diamonds are Forever"(one of her favorites). Her own original "Shield" has a decidedly Bond feel to it (which she did intentionally). IMHO this is the best version of this song that I listened to. Also what makes this performance more endearing is that it was for a charitable cause as with many Angelina’s performances.
This was an event sponsored by "Plan International", a humanitarian and development organization with the goal of advancing children's rights and equality for girls around the world. "Foster Parents" sponsor needy children around the world with monetary pledges that go directly to helping the specific children whom they sponsored and are able to communicate with them via Plan International.
The event was held on December 30, 2016 at Chateau Neuf Center in Oslo and broadcast on TV2.
Angelina was one of several performers and delivered a stunning performance.
Most of Angelina's performances after winning Norway Got Talent at age 8 were for children charitable organizations.
This Amazing young lady with the big voice and bigger heart is 16 years old now and still performs barefoot to remember the shoeless girl that she met when she was 6 years old and to remind us all of the many needy children around the world. In an interview at the age of 9 when Angelina’s book was released, she said “I care very much about children”
When are we adults are going to care more about children?

It's interesting that you should mention James Bond theme songs. You need to check out her outdoor performance in Norway of the Bond song "Diamonds Are Forever" which was originally done by Shirley Bassie. Angelina is ELEVEN and kills it (even with the accompanying band being a bit too loud and "drowning", plus it being a fan-made video from someone in the audience)! Also, her original song "Shield" which she wrote at age 12 and performed on a live TV talk show in Norway. It has a very strong James Bond vibe and is an absolutely beautiful tribute to her family "shielding" and protecting her as she grows up and into her music career.

Of all of the young and talented female singers out there, Angelina has been single handedly raising the jazz genre back to prominence and relevancy where it belongs. She can sing in many genres and exceed at all of them, but she is especially adept at singing jazz, blues and R&B. She travels in her own lane. The Brass Band tour with Angelina in Norway until she moved to California five years later, went she turned 15. She also signed with Republic Records with complete creative control over arranging her original songs and covers. Angelina released two original songs under Republic Records in the first year. Angelinas parents have always wanted her to live as much normal life as any child. Go to school, play with friends.
It was Angelina herself that discovered that she liked jazz. So she listened to old grammofonrecords and sang along.
The parents also wanted Angelina to get an education in school before signing contracts with the music industry.

I agree that would be a good one to see. But, it wasn't an audition. All contestants on the Champions version of AGT are there by invitation b/c they have won in various other GT venues (Norway, in Angelina's case). Bohemian Rhapsody was her Round 1 performance. As she received the Golden Buzzer from Heidi, she did not have to compete again until the finals, where she performed an Angelina version of Elton John's "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".

Sir, as vocal experts pointed out, Angelinas larynx is slightly bigger than usual (happens more often, than you think), so her vocal chords ar longer, ergo deeper voice, BUT her speaking voice is more what you expect of a young girl, only you can hear the rasp and sometimes huskiness. A juror at Norways Got Talent (NGT) said jokingly," she sounds like she is drinking whiskey since she was born". Today her voice is even stronger.

Yes, Angelina is crazy good. She is one of the marvellous singers that are popping up around the world. Another unbelievable voices that can touch you soul are Dimash Qudaibergen and Diana Ankudinova. They are all totally different singers but each with their own charisma and marvellous voice.

Yep, 10 was a banner year with some incredible hallmark songs across many genres. Basically she learned to sing just shortly after learning to speak. She employed the same mimicking techniques we all do just for language but her toddler age imprinting were the greats, Ella, Billie, Nina, Adele, Amy. This made her very adept and with an usual larynx at an early age she had all the tools and the talent to put it all together unlike any other. It all came first. Not having to unlearn habits is an enormous advantage. She has a singers dream voice.

One thing that Angelina's fans look for is that the Reactor supports the artist to whom they are reacting, and I cannot stress how important this is. The best way is to post links to their RUclips sand Social media channels, and I give a link to those for Angelina at the end of this comment. By doing so, you not only help them, but it encourages those visiting your channel for the first time to return. In my own case, one of the first things which I do is to check whether the Reactor posts a link to the artist featured. For me, the minimum requirement is a link to the video featured. I feel certain that many fans of the artists featured follow the same path.
There are so many things I get from this performance.
(1) The realisation that at the age of 10 Angelina has shed all childishness from her voice.
(2) A feeling that the placement of the spotlight at the beginning of her performance was deliberate. If it was, then, to my mind, it was a brilliant move.
(3) The fact that Angelina arranged this song and that the band kept out of the way and let her voice be the focus.
(4) The incredible low note she sang for the word "good" at the beginning and end of the performance.
(5) That wonderful crescendo at the end.
(6) The way Angelina used her left arm and hand throughout the performance
(7) The way she changed the microphone from her right hand to left hand, so that she could flip her hair back.
(8) The cheeky smile she gave to the cameraman when she realised he had focused on her at about 4.12 in your reaction video.
(9) The almost instantaneous switch from "performance" mode to that of a young child who,curseyed and gave a sweet smile to the audience as an acknowledgement of their applause.
Others have commented that the performance by Nina Simone should be considered the "gold" standard for this song. Until recently, I had never watched her performance, but have now done so. They just cannot be compared, for Angelina's arrangement is totally different

And at this fundraising event it was not a natural thing to go completely crazy even if people understood they were witnessing something really historical. I myself have been present at at least 3 musical legendary moments with Angelina, all if us there understood what was happening, but there was little screaming and shouting.
Regarding NGT, standing ovation is a natural element of the show, if there is something special. At the Akershus concert there was also a standing ovation, the reasons was it's a mans world was the final song in that concert, (even if I think that moment was a special moment in music history)

Nina Simone's rendition is considered 'The Gold Standard' for this song, but after
hearing this personally arranged rendition by her at 10, to me this is 'The Platinum

She calls her self Angie. When she’s younger I refer to her as Angelina. Just about any genre she has covered. She rearranges some songs with a jazz flavor. Artists from Sinatra, Journey, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Etta James, Rihanna, Adel, Elvis, Amy, Lana, Freddie, Willie N, well over 100 on my list. You're right about the Bond vibes - she loves them, there's footage of Diamonds are forever live on stage and she even created her own original Shield in that style. If you plan to react to "Shield" it's highly recommended that you do a double reaction with the interview she gave to Skavlan just before the first public performance of this song. It's quite informative and includes a few lines from "Diamonds" a cappella and the insightful passport-comment as well.

And I agree with you that she is a mixture of the jazz greats of the past and famous newer artists like Adele, Amy, Whitney. She is obviously influenced by "The Queens of Jazz, Blues, R&B and Soul" - e.g. Ella, Billie, Dinah, Nina (as to that particular song), Etta and Aretha (Angelina did a touching tribute shortly after Aretha's death which would be worth a reaction too ruclips.net/video/rt6KhBxiaDo/видео.html ). The list of covers she has done for both the greatest of the past and the present would fill pages and these renditions are mostly on the same level as the originals.
As for the early start - there is evidence of this. There is a recording of her singing "I will always love you" when she was 18 months old, there are statements by her mother in interviews and documentaries on Norwegian television about this, and there is her famous reply to the host of The View about it: An 8 year old girl said "I was VERY YOUNG when I started 🙂, I was one and a half".
You're on spot regarding responsibility, but there was never a burden and probably not much pressure (perhaps just as a boost). She knew her talent from an early age and honed her craft with discipline and seriousness (and of course joy) from pre-school age on - I can't remember exactly how old she was when she first attended Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts, maybe 4 or 5yo. So it's not surprising that she has tremendous control over her voice (and everything else that happens on stage or in the studio too - if you've ever seen a rehearsal of hers with band or orchestra, you'll know what I mean).
Her high level of responsibility is evidenced by some footage of charity events she was invited to between the ages of 8 and 12. She traveled a lot and sometimes far away on this behalf and even when she wasn't feeling well (from catching a cold to being quite ill), she insisted to perform anyway. She is a brave little trooper when it comes to charity and caring for less fortunate children.

Maybe her fans have been a bit overprotective at times because of her age, but now that she's almost grown up, that probably doesn't happen as often as it used to.

I believe this song is from the musical "The Smell of the Greasepaint, the Roar of the Crowd". Nina Simone may have been the first to popularize it after the Musical was out .. but various other icons have sung it.
