Roope Latvala - Finnish documentary(1999)

A TV documentary of one of our favorite shredders. I don't speak Finnish so if anyone out there can provide some translation as to what is being said in this video, please drop it in the comments.

Yeah...but i think he had a big ego and maybe he was jealous on Roope...he never used him for dual solos in COB. It's a sin how unused Roope actually was in COB!!!

@@LosDuderinos couldn’t agree more. Alexi started writing everything for the band. Basically complete creative control. Great music l, but kinda sucks for everyone. Roope just wanted to be with the boys, he didn’t care if he didn’t get to show off. His misses them dearly, they really did screw him over. He talks about it in an interview

@@haydenmoore584 My man you are talking beacuse it's free to do so lol, Roope does not want shit to do with COB guys currently and he stated that a year ago, as far as composition goes, Roope was happy playing his solos and parts, everything was good for him but his drunkness made him a little bit unrelyable, I love Roope, but when you're in a band, you gotta talk about stuff like composition, and off course every one agreed that Alexi was the main composer, so stop speculating, I have talked with the crew a lot and I can confirm my statement...

Roope Latvala is a legend. So is STONE, his band formed in 1985. Roope started quitar playing at age 11... and since then learned everything... and not to mention jazz at early age, so he knew basically everything about quitar playing. For sure - and without a doubt - Alexi Laiho look up on him: as younger Alexi had education in classic-music school. In short: without Roope and Stone, it is unlikely Alexi would have had made Children of Bodom as it was... and so fantastic, that Roope got into it (Children of Bodom) as well. Unfortunately, both were alcoholics... and the rest of the story is glorious, but sad, very sad.

Roope is a Finnish hero and a true legend, I hope he is doing well. Would love to see him play again, the man is pure class and his riffs are absolutely killer.
