Spent a few hours cranking a big floor sheller when I grew up.

My grandfather had a sheller mounted in the barn at the bottom hogs got the empty cobs and the shelled.ifarm. I cranked it a few times. Just corn to the chickens, drop corn went to the chickens, horses the ear into it and turn the crank. The empty ear came out the side and the corn came out into a bucket. It was a lot faster than shelling it by hand. Grandpa had it mounted to a shelf in the barn. The cobs went to the pigs and the shelled corn to the chickens, crowns, horses and mules.
They-are a nice tools.!!!
These old tools are interesting and still useful. Vintage is best.

I cut up a dead pine that fell in my back yard with my MS 170, 180 and 171. It was 24” at the base. They plowed right through it. I had to roll some of it over to finish the cut because their 16” bars old not cut all the way through it, but it was better than getting them in the sand. It was about 100’ tall, so it took several days for me to cut it up.
It is good to have the right tools for a job, and the knowledge on how to properly use them too.
You caught my eye right off, with the ice cream maker. They sure make it worth the effort. Nothing like homemade ice cream. Oh by the way l just got in nice condition, a Mac pro 10 10 . But l sure don't have your collection. I use to have some early 70s gravely tractors. My father inlaw has 1 with twin cyl onan. I believe you have a little bit of everything an thats very special.
We like a diversity in our old junk collection. I have a Gravely model L walk behind garden tractor with a rotary plow, harrow and rotary mower. I need to freshen up the engine before I can use it. You will like the Mac 10-10. They are a great all around saw.

I am surprised you don’t have a food mill. I have churned my share of ice cream. Mother made the custard. She liked peach ice cream, so I turned a lot of peach ice cream. It would be expensive to make, today because cream and eggs are so expensive.
You have some sweet old stuff for sure! My buddy calls the other day and says i want to get a standing dead Doug fir but it's leaning bad the opposite way it needs to go! I told him ill bring a bottle jack and we will jack it over. Well we jacked and jacked but other trees were holding the branches so it wouldn't fall. So he climbed it far as he could and put a cable around it. We ended up with about 75ft of cable so it would reach the road and pulled it over! We had to block and tackle it out to the road but we both got a good load out of it! Fun stuff see ya next time!
It is always a challenge to get trees down and in the right place. Perseverance and knowledge to beat the odds is always gratifying when the tree is down and harvested, plus you get to play with your chainsaws and logging equipment. A great way to spend ones time !

Great video Mr Obsolete 👍....looking forward to seeing that 650 run.....I got that 610 running no problem from the auction. I made a few short videos on it that I posted. Seem to to getting better the more I run it..👍🤙
If I had only one midsize saw, the Mac 650 would be my choice. They are powerful, fast cutting, easy to maintain and last forever. A Mac 610 would be my second choice.
That's cool, the only item you shared that I've never tried was an ice shaver. I don't think I would have recognized it off hand.
I was not aware of ice shavers until recently when I found the Stover one. I have sharpened the blade and will give a demonstration in an upcoming video.

Great video! My “Paw” used one of those shellers to keep me busy and out of the way when I was just a wee lad. Now I’m about his age and I use one.
The Black Hawk corn sheller was a really great invention. Most all others copied the design. They are still making them today.
