- Hello, my name is Creyess and welcome to the first video on the channel. This is a tutorial video on Venice Unleashed. Today we look into setting VU up, getting a local server started, adding our first mod, and getting acquainted with RCON and the commands. We figure out how to manage the fun bots mod, and play around a bit.

Thank you for taking almost half an hour of your life time to explain this whole process to us. With your help I was able to set up my own server, and now I can play against bots whenever BF4 becomes too epileptic.
Very helpful video. This is a lot of stuff that would've been overwhelming to try to navigate for the average player who just wants to get bots up and running.

Cool to see gamers take control back from the games they bought even if it is 10 years later, been thinking if i should get Insurgency or try Battlefield 2 or 3 with mods.
EA hates this stuff, they know it's a direct competition. And modders are usually more careful about providing an hassle-free and meaningful experience
Priscilla Crossbreed Yeah, I have uninstalled it since the bots require a lot of work, on one of the supported bot maps one bot was in a tank and was continuously firing towards me even though I was behind a large rock and if I moved it kept firing where I was like it could see through the rock. The bots need a lot of work even without tanks they could see me through loads of bushes for very far away like they had heat vision like the Predator.
After playing BF2042 beta all I can say is DAMN I really miss this BF3 Metro :).
I'm waiting for Project Reality to get back to BF3😎

I think Venice Unleashed will make a great success but just it is more finished, when it has more mods and that "Project Reality" like mod too. That's when players will come back to this game.
Interesting video, Virtually no sound though. Work around: While playing video, record audio with Audacity. In Audacity "cntrl-A to select audio, then "file menu-effect-/volume and compression-/amplify", then in popup box "set level-preview-apply". "Export-as" mpg. Start video and audio file at same time, Enjoy. Not a new video but good information still. It will help me as I endeavor to setup a VU server. Thank You...
I already try to create server but my friend can't join my server , it said "CONECTION FAILED - Failed to establish a connection to server" ;(
If i want others to be able to join my server do i put something else in procon instead of local host... I would like public but password protected...so far friend can join me when i have used setup with typing local host into procon and launching the vu 30 server... people say they are unable to connect .. the server says they have requested to joing but how do they even join or what am i doing wrong... Do I need to type public instead of localhost all lowercase ?

How can i choose the map to play with the bots?
This is incredible, time to dust off my BF3 copy and install, awesome that u can create your own server, add bots and do whatever, saw some people had BF2 maps if i'm not mistaking, are those also mods? How do u install custom maps?
This may be a stupid response, but there is the Back to Karkand DLC which adds some classic BF2 maps as well as Wake Island from 1942
Hi, I know this is an old video, but I am having problems launching the VU Client. I've just downloaded VU and launched the Activate BF3 exe, and it seemed to activate successfully. But then when I try to run the VU Client, a black screen appears showing Build 20067, and then immediately closes, nothing happens afterwards, and I am not taken to the VU interface. What do I do?
can we level up in this mod and unlock all weapons for multiplayer?
I have 2 Bf3 accounts, one is on another laptop. I set up VU server in my desktop ,I can join to that server with VU client in same pc. but cannot join with my laptop as vu client with "failed to establish a connection to the server" , I see in my server that player from laptop try to join but can't. Also from client side can't see my server ping number but only that sign '-'

Venice Unleashed is such a blast. My favourite bot experience by far. I love fighting AIs in multiplayer based games and this was refreshing imho
Hello friend, I need to ask you if you know any way or any mod to change the map, whenever I start a server it always starts in metro operation and I want to know how to choose the map in the middle of the game and how to make maplist.txt work correctly
Heya Creyess. I can create a server and join it andbut my friends can't join the server? Any ideas what might be wrong? Settings of some sort?
Edit update: I've opened the ports on my modem and they still can't connect to my server

I have an decent laptop so I guess system its not an issue?

Do you have a lot of bots in the server you created? If I have too many bots on mine, the gameplay will rubberband
@@spyke3575 Ohh hello I eventually fixed it by choosing 30 hz server and now i can make 20/20 but beyond that like 32/32 the gameplay is going to lag. And also the new fun bot mod update is also help to fix my issue. I hope in the next update there is some level progression

Hey dude, really nice video. For now I have a problem with my own server: People can't join it. It says: did not receive a reply from server some time.
Some people said I have to add a permission in the firewall of my PC (because my PC is running the server). I did so, but there is still the issue.

that's really strange. I'm really sorry but I've never encountered anything like that, consider checking Google or some discussion forum for help.
I got stuck on loading screen at the first launch of the client version 19968.
A full-fledged PC that meets the requirements of the game, updated Windows 8.1, and all related stuff, such as VC or dotNet. I followed all the instructions step by step, tried different tricks. No results, empty logs. Bad luck, huh.
I hope the problem will be fixed in the future (even though I have been waiting for more than a damn year, but I have no right to blame anyone)
I followed all of your steps but my friends can't join my server and they can't see any ping numbers for it in the server browser
it’s possibly something to do with your firewall settings. You may have to make an exception for VU, or it’s possible your network type doesn’t allow incoming connections. Try performing this on another network and seeing if things change.

My VU server does not load in the fun bots mod
could you put bf3, which already has bots installed, somewhere so that we can download it and play right away, I'm not very good at modding

@@average-dev Sure, i have an Ryzen 5 5600x + GTX 1660S with 16GB ram. Idk why the low fps. Its sad cause i like to play BF3 and in my region doesn't have servers to play, only one.

Which servers file are you referring to?
you need to open vu client/server so it can create the folder for you

Hey man, a question, do I need to have two battlefield games and origin accounts if I want to host a server on one laptop and play on another one?
You should be able to do that, but I could be wrong.

@@average-dev "Sigh" I can't get into VU with my gtx on the better laptop, only with intel and then it plays like crap...on gtx gives me this error "DirectX error - directx function- get device removed reason - failed with dxgi eror driver internal error: an internal driver error occurred Driver unknown" I reinstalled drivers and did everything in nvidia control panel but it's still on, no way around it.
Also I managed to enter my server on the laptop where I made it, but here on the better one even when I enter VU with intel I see servers, and my own, but next to it there's a dash instead of ping, and when I try getting in it says connection error.
Any way to play Venice Unleashed offline?
Unfortunately, no. However, if you are hosting your own server, you do not need a fast connection to play since it's hosted locally.

hey man I appreciate the video, when I try to give myself right it says ERROR Unknown PlayerName , eventhough I spell it correctly, any ideas?
My problem was the "the lack of space after the name and *".

@@spyke3575 Dude... your bots are working on conquest maps? They do not spawn at all for me, only on TeamDeathMatch mode.

@@spyke3575 Thanks, man, I have it. Read in a forum that, we've to save waypoints and paths on those conquest maps then the BOTs will spawn. But I'm doing something wrong... still can't save a trace and waypoints, using the waypoints-editor, that works.

Got everything to work except Procon, it's stuck at connecting and never connects to my server.

@@user-tc5zd2re4n Haven't used it since that post, i recall playing with bots and they were very OP but someone said u can reduce their difficulty stats.

Can i just press F12 without Procon to add more bots ?
Unless you have an alternative way to add yourself as admin. You may be able to put the fun-bots admin command inside startup.txt but I’m not sure, maybe give it a try. Anyway, glad the video helped!

Is that a offline or online
Venice Unleashed can currently only be played with an internet connection but if your hosting a server, you have a direct connection. Meaning there shouldn’t be any lag or high ping.

I have an decent laptop and that lag doesn’t appear whenever I play on base game not on VU so I guess system its not an issue, please guys I can’t wait to play this since I since I found out I could play with bots (I m not noob but I tired to play with some tryharder in online match hahaha)

this dude talking as he discovered fire when hosting a server that is 100% dependant in some shady master server computer who knows where to grant him access with their user account to the platform. bro, bf3/bf4/bfbc2/mohw etc server emulators with actual master servers have been around for more than 10 years already. and these shitty bots only work in TDM. they are just zombie bots that roam and shoot, they dont know how to do shit. so even bf2 bots are better than these.
