    After 3 months of the S95D, I started getting black-outs, so I returned it 2nd one same thing.
    Went with the LG G4 and with it properly dialed in provided overall a superior picture than Samsung could ever hope to achieve.
    PC gaming and anime is phenomenal on the LG G4 vs S95D, I was getting color banding on the S95D real bad even after the second return.
    Tizen as a UI is complete trash, and It's still so very slow.

    Kg, what’s your thoughts on the g4 vs s95d vs Bravia 9? I’m torn between which one to get and I’ve never owned an oled before so the Bravia 9 was an easy choice but ever since I got the M4 ipad 13, I’m starting to see why oled has so much hype. I will be using it for series x gaming and streaming (Netflix/amazon/max). I rarely use it during the day so 80% of its use will be at night in dark or with a ceiling light on. I’ll be getting either 75 or 77 inch and cost is not an issue, I’m just trying to buy the best possible tv that will last me a good 4-5 years

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  3 месяца назад

      I’d personally go G4 or S95D for that use case since you love your OLED iPad, let your preference guide you for the decision between those 2 find out which one has more things that might irritate you and eliminate that one. I think the G4 has more picture depth but not as good on the color at high brightness levels that’s the S95Ds strength like I mentioned in this video both are excellent with gaming in mind. I’d personally only recommend Bravia 9 for people who use mostly vivid mode or really want to have a ridiculously bright image in exchange for some contrast outside of brightness the 2 premium OLED here are superior in picture quality over the Bravia 9.

    Tengo modo dinamico que es el que me gusta con brillo a 40 y todos los ahorros de energía quitados,todos.y estoy viendo you tube y se me va bajando el brillo hasta quedarse muy oscuro,y para eso que RUclips no tiene logos y no creo sea abl porque el s95b en ese sentido no me quitaba brillo o ni lo notaba, este se nota un montón porque pasa de un brillo buenisimo a pegar un bajon, creo no deberia hacer eso ya que esta todo el ahorro de energía quitado.y el abl sin logos si es asi no deberia,ya que se supone es un panel mejorado con respecto a la primera generación que es el s95b y sin embargo no me hacia esta diferencia tan grande.

      They are both really great and as you can see in the video they definitely trade blows, I like the image quality of the G4 better when it comes to movies and shows so I lean towards the LG G4, but the G4 can suffer with HDR color loss on it’s default tone mapping but these examples aren’t super common. S95D is the more capable TV in regards to luminance but G4 still looks brighter in most content. In game mode S95D wins color while the G4 has the edge with flexible HDR brightness like I showed with the sports games using DTM on.

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  3 месяца назад +1

      I wouldn’t worry too much about it unless it’s big technology jumps it’s usually minor things separating it if we’re talking similar price ranges, I think most shouldn’t worry about upgrading year to year. • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  3 месяца назад +1

      S90D is because it has QD OLED so you’ll see a color difference between the two, this was a technology jump WOLED is older tech QD OLED was newly introduced to improve on a lot of its shortcomings. Now in regards to brightness for that price bracket while it’s noticeably brighter than the C2 it will still be good for most content. C2 to the C3 wasn’t a huge jump and even C2 to C4 isn’t a giant leap either it’s just a peak brightness increase to get it closer to S90C / S90D. If you had bought a S90C for example it really wouldn’t be worth it to get a S90D as they are so similar. Another example is A80J from Sony that’s still very similar to the A80K and A80L, so I think unless there’s a technology jump it’s just minor improvements. That said even with upgrades in technology we are limited to the content we have available and most people don’t need more than something like a c2 77 inch like you have. I think your set for a few more years at least enjoy your C2!

    I really enjoy your content and thanks for your effort! However, I have a important question on this one:
    Do I assume correctly that these TVs were not professionally calibrated? Therefore this a out of the box comparison. Having in mind that Samsung very often over saturates their colors, this could make a viewer think that in certain scenes Samsung S95C/S90D has a higher color brightness compared to the LG G4, while actually LG just shows a more accurate picture. Right?
    If this is the case, there should be a disclaimer in the video so that people understand this. Otherwise they might pay a lot of money for a TV based on a false assumption. Without a proper calibration of all TVs, it is hard to compare them....

    who among Sony, Panasonic and LG performs the best upscaling and who has the best motion processor for SDR streaming content?
    I would like to get the best live viewing for streaming sports content compressed with h264 and h265 codecs for example.
    Panasonic has now improved with the new MZ2000 models and with the new mk2 processor on Z95A on this side and I've seen LG has also improved...
    Sony still remains a point of reference or have things changed? I saw that Panasonic uses an IFC Accurate for Upscaling. In conclusion, how are Sony Panasonic and LG positioned in this area?

    Also, it’s disappointing how bad the C4 looks compared to the others. It has nowhere close to the picture quality of the competition. The C series has stagnated, it has not markedly improved since the C2 because LG has spent all the R&D money on the G series.

      @@TechWithKG FYI.. I think there is an issue to address with using professional mode in gaming.
      If using HGIG, switching to professional mode does not make anything brighter when assessing the brightest colours and highlights. When you demo this, that seems to be happening, but I think that's a result of using a splitter. In multiple games ive tested on the G4, there is no brightness advantage or additional colour detail to be had in HDR games. This needs to be made clear to people.
      Lowering the peak value from 100 down to 0 you can see some additional brightness details. But no added brightness or saturation. At 100, it's the same as HGIG.
      It's not the case with movies. That works well there. But for game content this "hack" does not work as intended.
      Again, I think this is an issue because when using a splitter you cannot set the peak luminance correctly for multiple TVs.

      The S95D is actually pretty good with processing in mind not too far behind the G4 but it’s a tricky topic because in a way you are very right the G4 has a perception that it’s clearer overall much like the A95L. It creates more detail and depth than any TV I’ve seen this year it uses some edge enhancing techniques and tricks to create that on top of that G4 is over sharpening the image a little bit. Samsung sharpness setting should be increased to try and get closer to this. I think in the future I’d like to see Samsung TVs put more emphasis on edge enhancing techniques and hopefully it is a toggle or slider.

      Personally I love the BRAVIA 9 but it really isn’t on the S95D and G4’s level in regards to HDR gaming IMO. It’s definitely not a slouch there though.

    Samsung simply mops the floor in any aspects from OLEDS to minileds with any competition, y'all like it or not. And gaming wise there is no comparison, Samsung is simply king with his game mode,period.

    Great vid, very informative.
    QD Oled clearly has an advantage on colors , but people should stop claiming MLA Woled has dull colors .
    The difference is barely noticeable without a side by side .

    KG, what’s your take on the 2024 OLEDS compared to the A95L? Would you still consider it top 3 in 2024 even though it’s a year old?

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  3 месяца назад

      It’s top 3 but I think the G4 and S95D 2024 OLEDs surpassed it in a few select areas, its certainly not the brightest among those 2 that’s for sure but still not a slouch for the brightness department.

    Hello. I have a question. I game like 24/7 with a lot of static images and I want an oled. Do you think I should get one or get a mini led instead? I'm deathly afraid of burn in.

      Is it the same game? I think as long as you’re not slamming a MMO or the same game multiple hours a day and not watching TV on it you should be fine. If you’re really worried about it G4 does come with a 5 yr warranty.

    • @Dr_No_PhD

      I'd go with G4 due to its 5 year panel warranty covering burn in. That was the selling point for me tbh
