    I can totally relate to returning to work after winter break. My wife is a school teacher and I’ve been a stay at home Dad for the past 5 years. When my daughter started TK and I found myself with more time in my hands and facing the prospect of returning to work I thought long and hard about it. I’d become so accustomed to traveling over all the school breaks with my wife and daughter. I couldn’t imagine going back to the regular grind of a 9 to 5 and having to submit a time off request for a week or two off if I was lucky. So I became a school bus driver and now I have the exact same vacation schedule as my wife and daughter. I feel like it’s a win win situation, although I do miss being dropping off and picking up my daughter from school. But that’s a small price to pay for the ample time off over the school breaks to be with my family.

    You're braver than I am. I really am missing biking a lot. I'm probably going to start up again around mid-March. It was great to see you on the Rock Island Trail. I miss biking it, but will be again in the spring, catching the bus from Cottonwood Creek to Rock Island, when I need to run errands before work, since I don't want to hit ice in the tunnels I normally take on the Templeton Gap Trail. I'd love to have a Bullitt for big shopping trips. Wish I'd known about that sort of bike when my son was little. No having to drive him around the base on Okinawa.

    So found a dealer that sells the Salsa Bend bars in Mexico City. But I'm useless in terms of choosing the specs, I see there's a 17 and 23° sweep and 710 and 740mm. I have the standard 60 mm Stem that the Bullit came with., Any chance you'd advice on specs? Which one is yours? Thanks again.

    are you still using peak designs iphone mount? Interesting choice of orientation. So you are placing it towards you, right?

      Yes still using PD stuff.. still super solid! I place it towards me so that it doesn't bump my sons helmet if he is in the cargo box. Cheers!

    quick question on the handle bar, i’ve been developing elbow pain from using my bullit. Do you think it’s a matter of changing the handle bar to the Salsa ? Do you feel there’s a significant difference towards making it feel more of an upright position?

    • @JoshRomeroYT
      @JoshRomeroYT  7 месяцев назад +1

      hmmm its really hard to know If the bar is what is giving you the elbow pain. I like the 50mm stem as the reach is shortened. To be honest though my favorite bar I've had on the bullitt is the Salsa bend. that is on another bike at the moment. The whammy is what i'm running now. Hope you find a solution to the pain!

      @@JoshRomeroYT What I think is that my weight is not well balanced on the bike and that is putting strain on my elbow. Madr a few tweaks on the saddle position but will defo try the salsa bend 2. What are you using, the 17 or 23 angle? Cheers for your kind replies

      I love my Cetma with a pair of hub motors. After-market assist gives you so much more of an opportunity to make exactly what you want. Joel from Spendid Cycles showed me his hub motor Bullitt with 2+kwh of battery years ago and that’s what inspired me to go diy.
      You’d probably prefer sometime with torque sensing over a bafang, because you get rewarded with more assist when you work. I have my hub motor assisted bike set up with torque sensing using parts from Grin Technology and it’s great.
      Also check out Revel Propulsion, his kit is currently sold out, but I think it would be the right minimal weight torque sensing for you.
      I watched your “why a non-e bullitt” and had lots of thoughts about it. I have made the same arguments about longevity of frames that aren’t built around a motor with a limited lifespan, but I have also been impressed at the longevity we’ve had on our family’s 2017 Packster 80, and it would probably still sell for 3/4 or what we paid for it new. Even the original battery is going great, surprisingly. On the other hand, I pity anyone with a first gen shimano e-bullitt that needs parts.
