Hi my aunt made my first jumper when I was seven years old, and at that moment I fell in love with sewing my first machine. It was a singer, and I started sewing at the age of 17.
I was 10 yrs old. My Grandma started me on hr Singer treadle machine, I liked sewing so much that when I got into Junior High through my Senior year I took Home Economics and the machine was a Bernina. I love this design others like the Tooth Fairy. They are so much fun to make. Thank you for all the videos you do.
I was so fortunate that my grandmother lived with us when I was a child, and she made all of her own clothes. I learned to sew at a very young age, probably 6 or 7, on her Singer Touch Tronic 2001.
My mother taught me how to use the sewing machine. We didn't make clothes, but we sure mended a lot of them. We lived across the street from the church and the nuns taught me hand embroidery. Hand embroidery is all did until I retired, and then I took up quilting which lead to machine embroidery which lead to Kreative Kiwi whose designs I love. I'm now teaching my niece to do machine embroidery and she made the large nutcracker for Christmas. The beat goes on.
Lovely design, I started sewing in my 20's, I went to night school for 12 weeks and have been sewing ever since, I made clothes for both my children and my 4 grandchildren, I invested in my embroidery machine about 3 years ago and love all your designs.
I learned to sew in home economics at the age of 13. We used a Kenmore sewing machine and made an apron and peasant blouse. I just found the apron a few months ago. It was fun to look at it again after all those years. The sewing skills I learned then have been so useful throughout my life. It's surprising now how often you hear people commenting on how they wished they knew how to sew. Thanks for all these videos. They are so helpful, precise and clear.
I am self-taught and started sewing when i had my baby's. When i was young i never had any beautiful clothes and always had hand me downs. I sewed beautiful dress for my girls until they were teenagers as they no longer enjoyed having dresses made for them at this point. It was then I got into machine embroidery and now machine embroider for my grandkids. I love KK embroidery
I enjoyed every minute of this video. Definitely making it for my sewing room. I was joined at the hip with my grandmother, who was a seamstress in Odessa, Ukraine. I was watching her every movement since I was 3yo, at times I knew what was the next step, I ran to the ironing board to plug the iron in and kept moving my tiny stool from sewing machine to the ironing board, from there to the cutting table and so on. At 8 yo I completed my first project, cute little cotton shirt with long sleeves and a collar. At that point we didn't have an electric sewing machine, you had to move your feet up and down on the platform to rotate the wheel of the sewing machine that looked exactly like the one in this video. When I was 12 my parents bought an electric sewing machine for my grandmother, what a game changer it was! I even made some clothes for my friends! I live in US now, about 1 year ago I bought an embroidery machine and absolutely adore it. Maybe it sounds weird, but I named my embroidery machine Claudia, that was my grandmother's name, I just wish she knew it.
I have been sewing since I was about 8 (I’m now 67) my grandmother taught me on a Singer treadle machine which I made go backwoods and my Nan keep saying it’s not suppose to do that. Nan also gave me a love of all sewing. Now with machine embroidery and your beautiful designs this is my love.
My first sewing Machine become I from my Parents with 8 Years. At the Chrismas, Santa has bring my 8 years old Daugther also a Sewing Machine. I love It !
I started sewing 61 years ago, at the age of 9, on this very machine. Albeit it was a treadle and belonged to my grandmother. Thank you for yet another wonderful design and tutorial.
I was 4 or 5 when I first got a needle, thread, and a piece of fabric. Then in 4-H, 9 years old I started sewing on my neighbor's treadle Singer. I enjoyed crafts of the needle and thread. My mother taught me to embroidery. I later got my grandmother's Singer my grandpa put a motor on the treadle machine. Which is at my daughter's home today. My 4 daughters sew, and 3 granddaughters received scholarships to the university and won different prizes in sewing for state blue ribbon. Sorry, I missed the deadline. I only received the email today. Love your work it is very informational and easy to follow.
wow what a fantastic design. I have been sewing since early childhood mainly by hand then a singer now a brother embroidery machine with a 7 x 5 hoop. cant wait to try this out. I will be 77 in April and I have promised myself this will be done for then. I have back problems at the moment so cant start for a while, Thanks for all you do for us all.
I started sewing small items prior to be 11 years old. I got my first sewing machine at 11. My grandmother was a seamstress. I began sewing on her old Singer of which I kept the base of for many, many years. By the time I was in junior high, I was making my own clothes. Got in trouble in Home Ec (why did they do away with that class???) because I did my own thing because I had been sewing for many years by that time. I've been through more machines than I care to count at this point but can't live without one.
Just wanted to thank-you for this video. I’ve just finished mine and can honestly say I wouldn’t have made it without having this to watch every step of the way. 💖
I learnt to sew on my grans' old treadle singer sewing machine. She used it as her only source of income as a widow to raise her 5 children through the depression years. I now still have it but I have had a few more modern machines that i used to clothe my 5 children as well as a source of extra income during difficult years by making even wedding dresses. I now own a rather oldish Pfaff embroidery machine and love using Kreative Kiwi designs. I buy some and really appreciate all the freebies. I really want to make this design to display with my vintage treadle Singer. Thank you very much you have absolutely the best instructional videos ever.
I started sewing when I was 12 yrs. Old. My Mother taught me to use it. I have sew fall my life. About 3 years ago I purchase my embroidery machine. I love your designs. This sewing machine is a beautiful and your tutorials are easy to follow.
beautiful design, i started sewing at age 4 sewing with my mother on her singer sewing machine, we brought that machine with us to Australia from England and had many years using that machine, she would have loved the embroidery machaines❤
I was about 8 years old when I started learning to sew on a Singer "toy" chain stitch machine that was gifted to me by a family friend. I made doll blankets, and pillows to start. Then Mom started letting me learn to use her big Singer. I don't know what the model was but it looked very similar to this one. I learned to make pillow cases, and doll clothes and other simple things, then began learning to make clothes for myself in Home Economics class in school.
I was about 6 years old when I started sewing on my grandma's treadle machine. I'm thinking it was a Singer, but it may have been a White. This design reminds me of that machine!
merci pour ce beau design, c'est très gentil de votre part de toujours nous faire plaisir. Je profite de ce commentaire pour vous présenter mes voeux de joie et de santé pour 2024. Bien à vous.
I learned to sew as a small child, maybe 5 or 6 years old on a hand crank sewing machine. Cranked with the right hand and maneuvered the fabric with the left! Made many things that way.
I never saw my mom sew, She did have me try to darn holes in socks. Just before I was to start high school mom sat me down at her treadle sewing machine. I learned how to thread the machine, wind the bobbin and work the treadle. She gave me scraps of fabrics to sew on. When I started high school I took Home Economics and learned how to sew with an electric sewing machine. Mom later bought an electric machine and I made a variety of outfits for school.
I was five years old, taught by my mother on old straight stitch Singer. No back stitch - we just turned the fabric around. My mother was very petite and she made most clothes rather than taking apart and making smaller.
Love all Kreative Kiwi, and these videos are super inspirational; Thanks 😘 I first learned to sew at school. I must have been about 11 and I loved it although we just had the one project. So I begged my mom to let me have a go on her sewing machine…… at about 45 I finely got my own machine(s 🫣) and I wonder what took me so long. I love it dearly and my new toy is an embroidery machine. I have a lot of catch-up to do. My best days are when I’m in my happy place (sewing room 😉) creating, decorating with fabrics and thread 🧵.
What a great design. You have shown us some fantastic large appliques. I started sewing at around 5 years old on my mother's singer treadle machine which I still have and use. Our mother would re-purpose hand-me-downs, repair clothing for longer life and taught her 6 daughters all how to sew. One of my sisters purchased an electric machine in 1976 which sat on top of the folded-up singer. When teaching Mum to sew with the electric machine she automatically started treadling.
I was 6 years old in 1958 when my mother bought a New Singer machine to replace the treadle machine she had. It was to be a Christmas present from dad to mom. I remember going to the Singer store in downtown Philadelphia to select it. I learned to sew on that Singer. She was a Home Ec teacher, so I learned a lot more than sewing.
Love this! I started sewing on my mother's treadle sewing machine when I was 8 years old. She sewed all our clothes and taught me how to sew and how to make quilts.
this is a lovely design, would add to any sewing room. Or great to put in a nursing home for people that use to sew. My mother was a avid sewer and I learned a lot from her. I basically started sewing in school in Home Economics (which I think they should still have in schools). So I have been sewing since I was 12 years old. I bought my first sewing machine when I was 20, it was a Sears Kenmore and I still have it and still use it. The bought myself an Brother Sewing/Embroidery machine 10 years ago and I love embroidering. KK has such wonderful designs and the best ever.
I was 13 yrs old when I learned to sew in school, which was called home ecc. We learned sewing the first half of the year and then cooking the second half.
I learned to sew on my auntie's Singer 185 when I was just 4 years old. I made a hand puppet and have been hooked for the past 61 years! Thank you for all your lovely designs!
I was about 10 when I learned hand sewing and 12 when I was instructed on my mother's singer treadle sewing machine. I purchase a singer touch n sew machine in 1968 (the year I got married) and used that machine until 2020 when it could no longer be repaired.
This is a beautiful design. Thank you for creating it….I was searching for similar designs this past year for a quilt that I was working on….Throughout my childhood I watched my mother sew on her black singer sewing machine. She never had the patience to teach me to sew nor would she let me near her machine to learn. In 6th grade, I was around 11 years old I took home economics class and failed the sewing part horribly. Throughout my adult life I have tried to learn to sew and have made few things but never felt confident with my sewing abilities. Around 4 years ago I got my first embroidery machine and KK designs made me feel very encouraged that I could make beautiful designs successfully. This past year I have been blessed to be able to own two very old, working singer sewing machines. This design is beautiful and will work wonderfully for the sewing machine cover that I want to make this year for one of my machines.
I love your sewing machine design! I took Home Economics and learned sewing and never dreamed I would catch this bug! My first machine was a Nelco I bought in Fairbanks, Alaska while stationed with my USAF hubby! We had a baby coming and couldn’t find maternity clothes for my short, 88 lbs body! My usual size was Girl’s 14 and just didn’t have anything loosely made. After sewing my tops and pants I began sewing little girls dresses. Sewing and Stitching is my Happy Place.
I started sewing off and on with my Mom at the age of 8. During High School I took the home economics class and sewed for a while and didn't pick it back up until years later. I learn a lot from your videos.
What an adorable design! My mom taught me to hand sew when I was 5. Then when she got a new sewing machine with an in-home demo, when I was 10, the salesman said I was too young to be on a machine. So my mom made go get the doll clothes I'd made. For my 30th my husband bought me a Singer Treadle. Which started my collection of vintage/antique machines. A lovely friend gifted me her granny's seldom used 1948 Featherweight and comes with me to Quilt Guild. I've been addicted to sewing for 56 years now.....I show no signs of stopping LOL.
Great teaching video. Really love this design for my sewing room. I learned to sew from my mother at age 9, It was a Singer sewing machine. She had me make a skirt and top set.
Started sewing when I took a class in Home Economics in Junior high. High School sewing machine. But my mom had a singer sewing machine at home, which I used. Now I have a brother dream machine I love to sew and create
I was about 10 years old when I learned to sew, along with crochet and knitting (I am now 71 and I have added machine embroidery, quilting, counted cross stitch and diamond painting). I was part of 4H for a number of years and also took HomeEc at school. This new pattern is awesome and I just love being able to make the large designs.
I started sewing and making quilts at age 65. I just started machine embroidery in the past year. I am currently 73, soon to be 74 on Valentines Day. I just love all of your patterns and so enjoy the videos. This one looks to be such fun and I can't wait to try it. In my youth I did quite a lot of hand embroidery but due to broken wrists and arthritis, sadly those days are over, so being able to use my embroidery machine to create gives me great joy. Thanks again for your creations and instructions, so appreciated.
Wow once again a gorgeous design. I learnt to sew on my grandmother's singer treadle machine when I was 14. When she passed it was given to me and I loved it for quite a few years.
Thank you for the step by step instructions that are so well executed . I remember so well my grandmother using this one and mother able to up grade using the sale of this one to do so.
I started learning to sew at age 11 on the sewing machines at school but I can't remember what sort they were. I did most of my early sewing on my Mum's 1960s Bernina . As an adult I bought a Bernina Virtuosa 150 and I've just bought a 790 Plus and am enjoying trying out exciting embroidery designs and projects - like this one!
I first learned to sew in high school on a pre 1955 Singer. It had been a treadle that was converted. I didn’t come to enjoy sewing until I had my child and that was done on a Kenmore with cams for decorative stitching. It was a great machine. That was when I was 22 and I’m 79 now. I so enjoy your tutorials and designs.
My mother's sewing machine looked very much like this. It is the one many of my clothes were made on and I learned to sew on. Sewing always brings memories of my mother.
Sew cute!!! The first item I sewed by machine was a simple knit dress. I used my Grandmother's/ Mom's antique Singer treadle. Just like this design! I was 23 at the time.
I actually learned to sew in home essentials class in 6th grade ( 12) made a quilted vest :) my first personal machine was around 17 and it was a singer. I do have a funny story. My youngest was about 4 so her dad told me if I wanted a machine I should go pick something out because he would surely not get the right thing. I took my daughter with me & when we got home he said what did you get? My daughter piped up & said I don't know but the man said it was 199.99 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣( this was 30 years ago, no it wasn't top of the line but it did the trick :)
I was 8 when I started to learn to sew. I have my grandmothers lovely Singer Treadle with its cabinet in my position. Thank you for another beautiful design!
Love this design! I have sewn as long as I can remember, starting with hand sewing doll clothes at probably 8 or9. My Dad bought me a vintage singer treadle at age 14 , and I haven't slowed down. All I remember about the machine was that it was a treadle and a singer.
I was 14 years old when I learned to sew and started stitching on a Dress Maker sewing machine which belong to my mother . This is so cute , I love how the design pieces fit so well together on all your designs . I get the advantage of a bigger hoop no matter what design of yours I stitch . The digitizing I can bet is allot of work and we get all the fun !
I have been sewing for many years. It started with making my barbie doll clothing with needle/thread moving on to brother machines. This design is beautiful and would look so good hanging in my sewing room. Thank you
I remember trying to make Barbie/Doll Clothes on Mum's Pfaff. I was probably about 12 to 14 years old. I started making my own clothes when I was about 16.
I’ve been sewing since I was a child, mostly self taught, but have taken classes here and there over the years. I love this design, as it reminds me of the beautiful old sewing machines. The video was very helpful. Thank you.
I was 5 or 6 years old when my mother sat me in front of her Singer sewing machine with a knee press pedal. Mom put a dull needle in the machine, removed thread and gave me a sheet of notebook paper I had to sew on the lines to learn to sew a straight line. I found it quite a challenge at first.....
I absolutely adore this design, and all the rest too. I got my first sewing machine for Christmas when I was 10. But my Mom had started us doing hand sewing and needlepoint at around 6-7 years old.
I have been sewing for 5 years using mainly KK designs - love your videos, my first machine was Husqvarna Viking Topaz - now I have a brother Innovis 4000D - I always look out for the videos as these guide me, they also spur me to get the designs I love
I Love the design ❤ I learned to sew when I was 12 on an old singer machine thankfully machines have come along way since those days thank you for another lovely tutorial xx
My mother started teaching me to see when I was about 9 years old. I used to watch my grandmother sew, but she never had the patience to try to teach me.
Probably about 10 on a machine but hand sewing long before that. My mother had a Empisal ? sewing machine i used and my Great Aunts Singer and My Grandmothers Singer Tredle as well
Could you please explain exactly what kind of felt you are using. I doubt it is the kind we have available in Canada, which is more of a soft craft felt. I was between 5 and 6 when I sat with my Mum to using her Eatons big brown made my 'National' straight stitch sewing machine which I still owned till recently. That was over 70 years ago and while I have purchased more machines along the way I still remember those wonderful afternoons learning from my Mum and sew almost every day. In the late 80's I discovered machine embroidery and added that to the herd.
Love your videos. I’m a self taught sewist (learned mainly thru YT) and it has been a passion since I can remember. Not old enough to have seen this type of machine growing up but I would love to get one. One question, what tape is it that you use to pin down the fabric?
That is a beautiful embroidery design. I started sewing when I was 11. I’m 66, and still learning.
Hi my aunt made my first jumper when I was seven years old, and at that moment I fell in love with sewing my first machine. It was a singer, and I started sewing at the age of 17.

Lovely design, I started sewing in my 20's, I went to night school for 12 weeks and have been sewing ever since, I made clothes for both my children and my 4 grandchildren, I invested in my embroidery machine about 3 years ago and love all your designs.
My mother sent me to a local department store to take sewing lessons when I was12. We had a Singer sewing machine. Well paced video. Thank you!
I learned to sew in home economics at the age of 13. We used a Kenmore sewing machine and made an apron and peasant blouse. I just found the apron a few months ago.
I was 12 she I learned to sew on a Singer. I took classes at the Singer store and was hooked!
I did my first embroidery when I was four. Made my first sewing project a blouse when I was eight.
I was about 10 when my mother taught me to sew. She had a black Singer. She made all her clothes plus for my two sisters and myself.
I learned to sew when I was 9 years old on my Grandmother’s Singer sewing machine. That was 64 years ago and and I am still learning.
I started sewing on my mom's machine when I was 7 years old on her treadle sewing machine.
I was 6 when I started sewing on my grandmother's Singer model 66 treadle machine which I still have. My embroidery machine is much more fun
Absolutely beautiful and so detailed. Well explained. Thank you! Magnificent work!

Such a cute design I have been sewing since I was 10 I’m 70 now
Love this design!
I learnt to sew in Year 5, in Primary school, when I was 9 years old. The school had Singer sewing machines.
I learned to sew when I was 12. My mother taught me on an old Atlas.
I’ve been sewing since I was a child, mostly self taught, but have taken classes here and there over the years. I love this design, as it reminds me of the beautiful old sewing machines. The video was very helpful. Thank you.
Love this tutorial so easy to follow ,I didn’t have any family that sewed so self taught ,have a small collection of vintage singer sewing machines
Fabulous design and stitch out! Thanks!!!
I was 5 or 6
years old when my mother sat me in front of her Singer sewing machine with a knee press pedal. Mom put a dull needle in the machine, removed thread and gave me a sheet of notebook paper I had to sew on the lines to learn to sew a straight line. I found it quite a challenge at first.....
I learned in Junior High school on a Sears Kenmore machine 1970’s which I still have. 😆
I started sewing when I was 9 and a Girl Scout. That was in 1969. The machine was made by White.
I was 7 when my mother taught me to sew on her treadle Singer machine!
I absolutely adore this design, and all the rest too. I got my first sewing machine for Christmas when I was 10. But my Mom had started us doing hand sewing and needlepoint at around 6-7 years old.

I learned to sew when I was 12 on an old singer machine thankfully machines have come along way since those days thank you for another lovely tutorial xx
Made my first embroidery at 4 and my first blouse on the a featherweight machine at 8. Still have the featherweight.
I was sewing on a singer pedal machine by 11 years of age!
I was about 11 and the machine was a Singer treadle, thank you for the videos.
I was already 58 years old when I first started sewing on the machine and it was a husqvarna viking
I was young around 8 or 10 maybe and it was probably on Sears Kenmore.
I was 10 years old going to 4H when they taught us to sew and I had a old singer machine that had the foot pedal on it
Love watching your how to videos.
Thank you
Love your videos. I’m a self taught sewist (learned mainly thru YT) and it has been a passion since I can remember. Not old enough to have seen this type of machine growing up but I would love to get one. One question, what tape is it that you use to pin down the fabric?
I was 8 or 9 when I started to sew using a Singer Treadle Machine.
My older sister taught me to sew
when I was about 12..
I was 8 yrs old when mom taught me to sew
