Great cover of one of Chuck Berry's very best! Rest in Peace Chuck, you were, are and will always be one of the hand full of the true, original gangsters of authentic rock and roll. Your music will never die - you are immortal!!! Also, love the sax player, he brings it and owns it!
Oliver Darling, vocals and lead guitar, is no slouch either. In Imelda May’s band. Saw Geraint with this band a couple of months ago, and will see again next month. He’s a national treasure!
Funnily enough Rob, my very favourite version of this song is by the band Slim Chance Mark II - featuring the remnants of those still alive "Slim Chancers", including Steve Simpson and Charlie Hart......of course, Geraint is an honorary member !
@@lyndamcardle4123 We’ve obv got similar tastes Lynda! I’ve seen Slim Chance several times. Back to Geraint though, and Chuck Berry, one of my fav versions of Promised Land is by the Dave Edmunds band with a young Geraint on accordion. It’s on RUclips.
That has to be the best performance of that song I ever heard and what an absolutely brilliant sax player. Added so much to it🎷
I love it one of the best
The greatest rock and roll i heard!

Fantastiskt gung topp👍👍👍
Dance and Dance...
That might be Martin Winning (one time Van Morrison saxophonist) playing tenor saxophone here - as well as GW.
It is Martin, one of the best tenors around!
Thanks Rob....nice to have it confirmed...he's a pocket rocket and a great tenor player too .....I agree.

Wail, saxman, wail. (Many years ago I played alto, tenor and baritone sax. Sadly, I had no talent and a tin ear.)
The Jerry Garcia Band version on Electric on the eel is the best
