I just realized why I love this scene so much. While I enjoy Boruto, the anime and manga, I’m 28-years-old. Long gone are the days when 12-year-old me would watch Naruto and relate to so many of the characters. I love this scene because it shows adults acting like adults. It’s a goofy scene that shows the side of adults when they’re not being professionals at work and can cut loose. I’m a teacher too and prior to covid, my colleagues and I would sometimes get together on the weekend, go to a bar, get drunk, and worry about how to help our difficult students and gush over our sweet students and academic geniuses. This scene was a nice break from all the childhood angst. It’s no coincidence that all my favourite Boruto characters are adults (Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, Sakura, Ino, Amado...Eida seems about 18-20?)
You could be watching it with your kids who would be the age of the kids in the show. Full circle.

@@crashpal.. Since in Naruto the overall focus was on Uchiha Clan due to its Sharingan & Uchiha Massacre its more sensible a good level of focus is on Hyuga due to its Byakugan.
Without many Uchiha in Konoha its imperative that Hyuga Clan has gained immense influence especially due to their Princess being married to 7th Hokage Naruto.
This for sure would have given Hyuga some real Political advantage.
Sarutobi-Clan is also a powerful clan due to its Hokage history of 3rd Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi as well as the Clear Rise of "Konohamaru Sarutobi" as an Elite-S Rank Shinobi with the highest chances of becoming the 8th Hokage in his Generation.
These Clan based Political Games would make sense especially from Hyuga Clan.
Hinanta's own family would avoid this kind of Politics but other Hyuga Clan members won't especially when the Main Hyuga Family has shed the previous constraints on Branch Family members.
If konohamaru isn't the next hokage i will never watch boruto

Really like this pairing. It could be a good decision to pair Hanabi with Konohamaru because: 1: They are important to the main character and care a lot about him. 2: Both are stated to be talented in part 1 of Naruto and have people to surpass (Neji and Hiruzen) and their characters as adults are unexplored. 3: Hanabi, as the Hyuga Head can teach Konohamaru, when he's Hokage, about politics and ceremonies to strengthen ties between clans inside and outside of Konoha. 4: Sarutobi/Hyuga hybrids that can spam jutsu with huge chakra-reserves. Also there are missed opportunities they could’ve had them interact, like on Boruto’s Bday, Konohamaru could’ve brought a present to birthday boy Boruto and maybe they could have invited him for dinner, which Hanabi made according to Boruto, and Konohamaru might like Hanabi’s cooking and complimented her. Or on the joint mission between Team 7 and 15, in which Hanabi was absent because of patrolling the borders of Konoha looking for an intruder that, showed up at her Team’s location anyway. She could've fought Jugo to see how she stacks up to a kage-level opponent. And teamwork is the Leaf's strength, so they could’ve defeated Jugo 2 v 1.
Damn that chemistry between Konohamaru and Hanabi is really there and it is appropriate that they get together.

@Pale Ghost Ghost With those 2 characters there are already a lot of missed opportunities, sadly. The Boruto stories does a decent amount of things well but these things are lacking. The Naruto story didn't treat their side-characters nearly as bad the show does.

It’s kind of the opposite for me. Everything hard that somehow comes so easy to boruto’s gen makes everything in this show seem easier in comparison. But in naruto throughout the whole show you see the characters struggle and lose and get stronger and develop into young men and women fighting during wartime.
That's true. They're way too overpowered for no reason. Like just having powerful parents doesnt immediately make you powerful too. Also many of those new jutsus are hella weird. Sad to see Naruto being done so dirty by its sequel.
