    I own the Nova version of this and just had to send mine in to Primary Arms because the illumination began to flicker under recoil. Primary Arms is doing the right thing and sending me a new one but I just thought it should be known--you get what you pay for. Illumination is very bright when its working properly though.

    I have one from the previous generation and generally like it. Mine has a chevron/horseshoe illuminated center which acts like a red dot and is pretty bright. I hit a man-sized target easily at 300 yrds during my first time ever shooting out that far.
    Only downside is 1x distortion around the edges while moving. With both eyes open, moving around quickly, my brain has trouble layering both eyes.

    My Nova arrived a few weeks ago and it’s a great optic. I’m a prism guy so it’s my first LPVO but I’m very pleased with it. I really like the 1x on it and the 6x is good, too. I wish settings 1 and 2 were dimmer as the dot at those levels is too bright in the dark.

    Excellent review thanks. The only thing I'd add is, you say "you can literally pick it up in full sun (referring to the bright reticle)' however, you're always standing off in the shadows, shooting OUT to full sun. Would be good to see it with the sun beating down on you, not just the target. That sometimes makes a difference. But this one seems so bright, probably not. Thanks again. I'm leaning toward this scope for my next purchase

      That's a great observation. I'm usually in the shade because it's hot, but also makes it easier for Jonny Fantastic to grade our footage when we're done. I do shoot from full sun, we just don't film it that often.

    I just really can't see a situation where I'd pick a SFP over FFP. Especially 1-6. I'd rather run a dot and magnifier at that point. It just seems the worst of both sides.

    • @Vuntermonkey
      @Vuntermonkey Год назад +2

      I have both an LPVO and red dot/magnifier setup and tend to agree, but still like my LPVO rifle. For shorter ranges and more "tactical" shooting, having a reticle that doesn't change simplifies things for the layman. Sight it in fully zoomed and know bullet drop/moa/mil marks mean nothing unless you're fully zoomed in. LPVO is then basically is a less good red dot at 1x, and then a less good scope at max zoom, but gives you the ability to reach out if you ever need to snipe a mob leader easier than a red dot/magnifier combo.

      Second focal plane lpvos have brighter reticles that you can even see in the scope shadow if you had to. most people use 1x or 6x and never in between so the measurements are correct for them and Sfp works best for them. If you are actually using the magnifications in between 1x and 6x while using the sub tensions then you need FFP and will sacrifice reticle illumination. 1-4s and 1-6 scopes tend to be sfp because most dont use the middle magnifications and 1-8 and 1-10 scopes tend to be Ffp because you use them often.

    I like your videos but let me say why I refuse to do this like sub thing. It’s like a nagging wife just tired of hear it period. Every dam video you get the same bs and it’s annoying. Not to mention I’m tired of all these interruption on everyone’s video with sponsors. It remind me of commercials and I hate them lastly the sub etc etc it’s free no it’s not nothing is free and you get paid by views and subs and clicks someone is paying it. So tired of corporate American and the never ending money hijack

      I appreciate your comment and I get it. We probably sound like a broken record, along with other guntubers. I would point out however, that this is our job, and subscribing, liking, and commenting (even nagging wife comments) help us out with video performance. Because we cover firearms content, we get almost nothing when it comes to monetization.
