The brilliant thing that makes The Captain stand out from The Ancestor and The Academic, is that he is actually alive during the game. Thus we can get stuff like this and it can 100% just be something he's doing during an expedition. It adds a lot of unique flavor to this already very unique DD narrator. I mean, given that from the Captains Pov, he sent a letter to a friend whos related to the Ancestor, it wouldnt suprised me that the Heir (ill call him that to save time) would problaby share alot of unsavoury stories about his Grand-Uncle he heard from other relatives and other places. On other notes: - We could problaby harvest abit of the Alraune body and try to grow each seperate body of the 3 in a iron pot or something, raise them since babies and work on making them tamer/civilized/friendly... infortunally if you still do what I think youd do, youll be doing it to the equivelant of a child you help raise... but on other hand: More protection on the Flameseeker maybe... assuming they dont want revenge. - Im suprised nobody threw a question of "Have you and the recently deceased Enchantress had a fling at some point"... cause he mentions shes aware of his goal or knowing of him, wich implies 2 things: Either the Levantine spies are extremly effiencient or those 2 were drinking buddies. One question im sad didnt make it was "If you had to pick a faction or group of creatures from the Valley to work in advancing your mission, who would you pick and why?"
I don't think cactonids, kvarotz and a majority of the troglodytes (except the Troglodyte Purveyor tho it's more opportunistic merchant than ally) are reasonable enough for negotiations. The Levatine and Wildlanders are more negotiable due to the fact we have friendly curious interactions and the ship also has two defactors (one Levatine and one Wildlanders) acting as trainers in the training hall.
@@heistingcrusader_ad3223 I still think the Trogs might be negotiable, thou it be dealing with a primite tribe, wich means communication will be a big problem. Noids and Kvarotz is an obvious no. Levantine has the problem that the only friendly ones we spoke with are Defectors, and the Levs are also here to kill the Captain, so while possible to negotiate, they will likely backstab us. Wildlanders have a slighty bigger chance, but it be dificul due to their culture.
Tons of people pointing out the stellar VA work, but not enough people pointing out the great detail put into The Captain's chamber and his model. Beautiful work! As always, the style makes it look like it's straight out of the vanilla game.
It's really cool getting to hear some of the worldbuilding of Black Reliquary! It's neat hearing about the different geography and nations mentioned--it would be cool to read more about these places.
Absolutely, Ostvengr in particular is such an interesting location to me that I'm nothing but disappointed that we only get little scraps from time to time.

It was in a sharp decline toward the end and people got so used to appliances that might chomp your limbs that it was an assumed risk. During their arguable height, the tech wasn't entirely stable, but still centuries ahead of everyone around them. During the mid 1700s, you had a nation discovering mechanical engineering, synthesis, manufacturing, automatic transportation, electricity, communications, and so on. You just had to go into the great, gaping maw from which supernatural horrors would occasionally crawl out of to go and get fuel or materials. All of the greatest minds in the world flocked there to learn about these new technologies, who in turn would become residents and further accelerate these discoveries.
I am not lying if i say this is the best DD out of game content I ever seen, its funny and I hope there will be more Q&A in the future. Cheers from a SA fan!

i have but one question for the captain, and that is you'll heard all about the cultist from the mountain in the kingdom where you have taken the heroes, do you thinlk those cultist are gonna mess with you or that you are far away enough to be at peace?
I sincerely hope that there will be a slightly easier difficulty option and a harder difficulty option for those that want that kinda thing as the current difficulty seems a little bit too punishing for a dumbass like myself and a little too easy for those that have been playing since day one.
@@RichardJohnson-wd1gp There's a multitude of reasons why we don't recommend doing things that way. DD is going to cover the basic mechanics necessary to get a grip on BR (and especially the perspective to appreciate BR's QoL features) so it would be ideal to get your feet wet with the base experience. Also, we're making some adjustments to core combat for the final update. Can't go into any details, but just know that we're taking serious points of contention regarding the balance into account.

I see you offered tips on the discord and have some How To videos. Maybe a disclaimer on the steam page or advertise those same tips for beginners as a compromise? Add a little blurb to the FAQ? WELL YES, I'D SAY LEPER IS THE ONLY ACTUAL HERO, the others can be deserving of the title if they prove their ways have changed from what drove them all to work as mercenaries. Also... I WILL EAT THE AMBER! Tbh all that Amber seems to do to biological beings is lower their strength and make 'em weaker to attacks from others. Someone who could apply "Amberlight" reliably to anything should be a great asset to the Flameseeker as a "debuffer" but I guess Hexer already does that with his blood....
@@Crawdithe98As someone who has played it, I can tell you the balance just sucks, especially regarding the Kvarotz Enemies (Torchless enemies that can straight up be endlessly revived by an effectively immortal enemy and turned into kamikaze skulls that do 30 Stress per attack and almost 40 to *All your team*. And they can also be revived by the effectively undying enemy So yeah, it's a little... Finicky, at best(

It'd be rough if you haven't beaten DD but if you have then you know what to expect. You need to pay attention to what enemies buff themselves and what their attacks are strong against, and the game literally has a diagram that tracks that for you at the bottom. I'm three bosses in with no deaths. The Captain literally has a line about how good things come to those who wait. Just be patient and cautious and you should be fine.

BR's writer here, eating raw amber turns you into a trog. Not the full bug monster transformation, that takes several generations, but your former friends won't likely call you human anymore. Judi can handle it purely because of her devotion to any form of higher power. Refined amber you can consume in any way you'd like, but different methods have different results, for better or for much worse. Popular methods are snorting it, smoking it, eating it, or as is slightly less favored, injecting it. Other methods are more obscure or for those very familiar with amber's effects. In theory, anyone could eat raw amber and be fine, they just need to be devout to the extremes, and we know how godless you all are. We've seen your comments, videos, streams, and discord posts.
