"Equinoxe", this electronic hymn to life and nature was composed and recorded in nine months and is a continuation of ‘Oxygène’. The work reveals soundscapes designed with numerous electronic instruments thus surrealistically evoking cosmic rhythms, natural organic sounds of the spring or autumn equinox, water, rain, wind, tide, sea, storm and tempest.
The album is an allegorical musical representation of a day in the life of a human on earth.
Jean-Michel Jarre says about Équinoxe: "I wanted to evoke the flow of the 24 hours of a day, each part of the album representing a different moment of the day and night. I want people to use my record to play it at different times of the day and when they are in different moods.”
I picked up Equinoxe IV and did my thing with it.
