I tried to learn to play guitar in 30 days with no experience. I practiced guitar everyday for 30 days. To see how good can you get at guitar in 30 days?
Hey, i am 37 years old and started to learn guitar last year. First two month it sounds terrible, but i continued to train every possible day. Now i can play a lot of songs and there is a lot more to learn, but i enjoy it. Just keep on practicing!
Hey Hallden, you're one of my inspirations in the software domain, and I would like to request you to please create your old types of videos as well, such as hacking cars and programming-related content. Your current content is great, but I would love to see your old videos too ❤❤. By the way, sending love from India!
Like dang. From software engineer to philosopher. There is something new in every new video. I admire this about you. I love your comment about setting smart goals and not just any goals. Sometimes when you lack motivation or purpose, setting meaningful and smart goals is the best thing you could do to get yourself out of the pit. Cannot wait to watch your next video about goal setting. :)
I played guitar for a while and yesterday I just googled some bass lessons. I'm searching for a hobby without screens and this video inspires me more, thank you.
Perfect timing, I also started learning recently (Mid-July) and followed a similar routine with similar results. I don't judge you on acquiring new guitars, I have been tempted to grab a nylon and an electric as well. Great video!
Hello Kalle. I hope you will read this. I wish to tell you something that seems to come from the depths of my heart really... its an intuitive voice kinda thing. No judgment, just some things that could pick you up in some way, I believe and hope. I found your channel as a source of inspiration. You are a source of inspiration for me. Just the kinda person that you seem to be. And that does not seem to have anything to do with your achievements per say. But rather this light honest way you go about things. This video seemed suddenly very different from your prior ones. You shared some things on how you feel about your life and your musical inclination somehow seemed very proper in that context. It felt like something familiar. I play guitar since I was a kid. This was my go to place to find answers, to express.... not specifically for others to see or hear. I found myself in these moments. Not necessarily as a musician, but rather, as a human being. Things just came up when I played. Even something as simple as 4 chords. And feeling lost was somewhat alleviated by these choices I made while playing. You approached the guitar as you seemed to approach everything else. Methodically, technically, goal oriented. I would love to suggest for you to try a different approach. Everything can be art. Programming, woking out or building a startup. But I would argue, art starts where goals end. Music is special that way. The sounds, the words they touch emotions and meanings. Learning a known song can be fun. Finding the one that touches you deeper can be meaningful. But finding your own words and sounds. That is a journey of another kind. Maybe there could be a purpose for you to find words that fit your emotions of the kind, maybe that emotion is not necessarily about fun, maybe there are many emotions that fit many different sounds for you. I believe these can be like little keys to your soul. To unlock something that entertains no goal, but to be seen as it is. I feel you wish to see this part of you, but don't know exactly what method can take you there. Music can do that. It can paint the way that has no milestones to reach, no timelines to meet. It is like the notion of home. It is not the house, neither it is a specific place. Its where something truly honest lies. Have something for yourself, that you don't share with the world to see. Something you can cherish just for being what it is. Good luck on this wonderful journey of yours. Best wishes, Artur
What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Great video! I've been feeling the same way lately. Everytime I think I've decided on a new goal to work towards, I quickly starting feeling regret and fear of making a mistake. I ultimately feel like they're not worth pursuing. It's been very odd because I've always been very decisive in the past and always enjoyed the decisions I made. So now I don't understand why I feel like I can't trust my decisions now. I had some free time the other day, and didn't feel like pursuing my current goal and I literally dusted off an old guitar I've had and have never tried. I messed with it for about 30 minutes getting it in tune. I had a chords book with it and I worked on about 2 chords. My fingers do not want to bend and don't move as freely but it was still a lot of fun. Two days later and I come across this video. It's been great hearing your advice!
Life is about different experiences, you will not be stuck if you pursue one dream/goal or the other, you are just adding to your life experiences 😊. I love your content! that never changed. Thank you for being who you are.
Congrats Kalle! I used to play guitar many years ago but if I were to pick it up again, I probably wouldn't go back to a music school too expensive. I would just learn online. I to have had the same feelings especially, the past few years. I am trying to figure out where, I want to go and what, I want to do. Will I always be a student yes but in the structured academic sense possibly not like in a college setting. Also, I do question sometimes in what, I am taking. For example, should I learn Japanese, Italian, or Latin as my final language? (Outside of school). But decided to stick with Japanese for the next 4 months for now. Or should, I take more health courses or classes that would interest me but not benefit me as much? All, I know is I have to do something because doing nothing was the worst thing I could do. For example, last year, I could barely leave my house but this year, I probably been out more this summer than the past 3 and a half years. I took health courses last year and believe they helped. Also, deciding what, I nee to do verses what, I want. What's the most important thing to me right now? And patience. My health is going to get better slowly not when, I want it to it is a gradual process. I am actually, kind of proud of myself. I managed to read 4 books this summer. But I altered daily reading to my lifestyle. Like, instead of forcing myself to finish a chapter per-night 5-15 pages instead it adds up. Note: I have read many books over the years but mostly textbooks for school over the past 2 decades.
I bought an electric guitar with the idea of learning to play rock guitar riffs. My friend who is an expert guitarist mentioned the need to develop hard skin on your fingertips and things like this and the awkwardness of fingering chords put me off. I since got a USB keyboard which can be hooked up the PC and used with synth software. So this makes it much easier to learn to play music I think. Now I need to put in the dedication like Kalle did to get proficient.
Im proud of these kind of people that just dont give up when they first touched a guitar 🎸 Im a 14 year old guitarist since school has long or short schoolworks i cant much and as long but i still rpactice everyday
I used to think that I watch your channel for motivation but I actually watch it because your videos are pretty relatable. I'm just 22 and I am already struggling with the questions you described in the video
Man, what happened to you. I remember you doing cool tech stuff and now you being all philosophical and self-improvement stuff. I just hope you doing well man. Ik you had a business that kind of fucked you up, but still man. I hope you doing well. You seem like a cool guy. Hope you get better.
life aint all about sitting and programming all day. I don't see what's wrong with self improvement and making videos here and there like that. These types of videos are enjoyable when he does them
Hey, I have noticed that you are not making coding related videos nowadays what happened did you left coding. I really want to know because I really like this channel.
You don't need to set goals, you need to actually do something. This guitar video is just another example of you liking the idea of something, but then not following through. Its just like your programming videos. The one thing you do seem to follow through on is RUclips. I watch these videos because I'm the same but, less good looking and poorer. So eventually I was forced to follow through because I had to earn money.
So, I play guitar for years but been on a break for a long time and play very inconsistently, haven't improved in years. I'll go on this journey with you too, practicing guitar every day for next 30 days 🤝
Have you tried Jesus? He is the most fulfilling. You won't regret it I'm also astonished you just picked up the guitar and started strumming.... I mean you haven't watched any videos??! That's wild!
