So glad to see a cool intro and some fun editing in this video. To be honest I feel your recent videos lacked a little bit of excitement - many of us viewers need something poppy, something funny, something fresh. Definitely a step in the right direction, feels like old Hallden is back. Keep growing man!
I feel the same, I love the spirit of Kalle in his old videos, were you can literally feel his excitement about developing and learning something new, that always motivated me so much. In the latest videos this excitement is missing a bit. I think lots viewers have that feeling, that might also be the reason why the latest videos do not perform so well. @Kalle keep up the good spirit, you're such an inspiration! Greetings from Germany
Same sentiments here. I just got back into catching up on videos and I always liked Hallden's. I imagine though that it takes a LOT of time and effort to record and especially edit the videos to create something like this one, but I think it's appreciated by all his followers.
Kalle! Been a fan for a long time! and loved seeing your YT progression especially since I am software engineer who got into the industry 4 years ago and I share the same passion for trying things and just going into it(shirt making, coding side projects, videos and even sailing[soon I hope!] haha). You've changed direction so many times, maybe your initial audience that got you here has dropped off? The initial journey was about learning coding, building things and getting a job in tech and the it splintered to some hacking tools and then non tech related topics. Now the channel feels like we are slowly watching someones life go by which I quite enjoy the film making and music is awesome but there is no punchy content or direction. Hope you get back to the big watch numbers you had before. Love the content! Do a Sydney meetup next time you are in town!
Man this video is so relatable haha. So often on youtube people glorify what its like to code something and make it seem so fun. More often than not, it is simply a grind. On that mental fatigue you talk about at around 11:30 -- The brain uses 70% of all calories you consume! It shouldn't be a surprise that you feel completely exhausted after thinking so hard for literally hours keep going!
70 % is pushing it a bit. The brain uses 20 % of the total calories you burn. That however is still A LOT since the brain only makes up for about 2 % of someone's bodyweight.
@@ikirbzfunny. I was shocked to see 70%, looked it up and found the same correction. It might have been conflated with an infant’s calorie distribution though, as they seem to use around 60% of their TDEE for their brain, according to the source I read.
It can be very frustrating but at the end... seeing the results of the stuff you yourself created is I think still one of the greatest feelings. Watching your Videos and seeing that other people struggle the same way i do gives me Motivation. It actually just shows that with enough effort you CAN even if you dont think so, and that can be projected to so many different thing in live. You made a really nice video and deserve much more keep up the good work!!!
Tip: if you would have used the VSCode debugger with a breakpoint on the line to write to the DB, you would have been able to catch the issue much earlier by checking the input variables
I'd look at adding static type checking to your project, otherwise you are sure to have many more errors like the function vs function() one. Most popular tool in the Python world for this is probably mypy
MAN , TIME FLIES; IT'S ALREADY BEEN 5 YEARS SINCE I've BEEN WATCHING YOU ,, I WAS 12 YO when i first started watching you now I'm ALMOST gonna turn 18 and i still love to binge watch your videos
Hey Kalleden, I like how spontaneously you just go out for a run to clear your mind! I'm sure it gets frustrating when you're trying to figure out where you went wrong in your coding and not having a clue as to the cause of the glitch. Keep uploading more YT content so we can see how much better your coding is going.🎉😅😊
Just a shout to the fact I really enjoyed this video. It helped me a lot. I've just finished my Computer Science Degree (at 26, yeah man I'm old for uni (I think)). Kinda feel stuck inbetween actually finishing the degree and graduating. Wanted to code a project idea I had for my portfolio and this video gave me the motivation to actually start it. THANK YOU!!
I think you should focus on the RUclips analytics app first. Then it could be used while you finish the time tracking app. It sort of kills 2 birds with one stone, while you’re building out the time tracking app you can be testing the analytics app everyday and make updates as you want/need. Excited to see what you decide, great video 😊
reallyy enjoy Kalle's focus more on the human condition of being a programmer then the programming itself. The coding is super interesting, but its the application of that knowledge and what it requires...being a human in a digital world.
I really like how you combine coding with humor. Loved all the little details and the ending, it made me smile and making people smile is always a good thing. On top of that you also show the struggles that come with coding, so it’s far more realistic than a lot of other channels/videos. Thanks for entertaining, motivating and inspiring a lot of your viewers. ❤
When i was learning PHP at school i had a frustrating error that i used hours debugging. All it was, was I wrote methode instead of method. I still laugh of myself for this 5 years later.
I was thinking app as you were working on it....tons of work you've invested, and how many would love the same information for their channel....go for it!
the app is a great idea also could you please make a tutorial on how to make large scale apps using python and how to package it into an app which is publishable on app store or google play store. loved the video ❤
I mean once you side swipe someone's car, they're pretty much besties.. they're breaking so many unspoken rules. Anyways, great unrealized/realized app! :D
I had a giant wasp that flew in the door frame a few summers ago. I literally gave him the door! Now, this summer I have a mosquito in my room for the past 2 nights, I can’t seem to get at!
Hey mate, thanks for the video. Its very entertaining to watch, keep going! Just one thing: I quite didn't understand the whole idea of your app, as I think you can get all that from the RUclips Dashboard as well (likes, dislikes, new abos by video, you can even compare different videos side by side). I'm just curious if I missed the thing in your video 😅
What you have would be great as an application/program perhaps paired with some sort of social management platform. I actually was playing around coding such a platform a while ago and after watching this I should pull it off the shelf and do a bit of work on it.
You should actually do an App and try to find a way to make it available to others, so they could use it. In the end the problem you are solving is actually touching every Content creator and even companies they would all be interested in that. Especially companies when creating for example trailers for new products to get rapidly the general trend they are getting on the video. I know you know how to make that but in the end create the app for you then, change some parameters so that they become variables that are prompted to the user that has to input them every month or so. That would be awesome. But you should keep the email feature as a side and also and add the possibility to extract the database data for each video in excel format. Quite a lot of possibilities there.
BTW, if you didn't find joy in resolving a rather trivial bug during development, then you will absolutely hate resolving issues in a production application.
Thanks for these videos. I'm hoping to make a switch into system development from 18 successful years in sales. Every time I watch your videos I get just a little bit calmer about my decision. Keep it up.
Sir, I am inspired by your lifestyle a lot, please make a video on dealing with people and how you manage your thinking after dealing with them. Thank you for providing us such useful contents
I was actually thinking of an app / live dashboard when you started showing the email code! I think a live dashboard hosted on a website will be easier. That is if you are able to authorize RUclips API from the dashboard.
Is there a reason you prefer to navigate from the code editor to the terminal and back every time you make a change to the code and want to re-run it? Why not just use the in-built terminal in VSCode? Using 'cmd+j' to toggle the terminal is pretty handy!
I had seen a video uploaded on your channel 4 years ago where you managed to get your typing speed up to 70 wpm during a 30 day challenge. I want to know how fast you can type now since I am also trying to get my typing speed up to compete with others.
Me: Plans to sleep early. Also me: starts a 'quick' coding fix at 9pm
🤣 so relatable
So relatable. I haven't slept properly for 2 weeks for this.
facts!!!
Be glad you are at that point though. I'm still learning it and also still dealing with my shitty job that has nothing to do with coding.
this is so True !!

His videos give the vibes that he is the last person on earth. Like empty dark rooms and no other people when he goes outside
Same sentiments here. I just got back into catching up on videos and I always liked Hallden's. I imagine though that it takes a LOT of time and effort to record and especially edit the videos to create something like this one, but I think it's appreciated by all his followers.

Yeah he needs to cut down on the narcissism quite a bit!
Me too please make more coding vids

Your brain using 70% of calories is a myth. Youd be getting skinnier if that was the case. Your brain uses like 200 calories at max load 😂
Good for you for cracking the code. You popped backup on my feed. I've now ticked the bell for all notifications.
It can be very frustrating but at the end... seeing the results of the stuff you yourself created is I think still one of the greatest feelings. Stared at every one of those “subtle” comments😂

This video shows the realistic feeling of being a software engineer. The debugging and the questions and all that other detail. Good video man!

Keep up the work :)
You're one of the few RUclipsrs that make me try to reach my goals and really motivate me on my Coding Journey :)

Love the video. 7:11 to 7:31 depicts what programming is like 🤣
Was looking for exactly this comment 😂

Thank you I really appreciate that! Exactly what I tried to do!
Actually watched it couple of times by know to find (and read) all the details. Love it 💪🏼
When i was learning PHP at school i had a frustrating error that i used hours debugging. All it was, was I wrote methode instead of method. I still laugh of myself for this 5 years later.
The man is back, great content.
I totally feel you on the API drudgery, I’m glad it’s not just me!
That was one of the best videos I saw on RUclips. I really liked the aesthetic and the editing. Thank you for the video :))
Thank you! That means a lot!
I was thinking app as you were working on it....tons of work you've invested, and how many would love the same information for their channel....go for it!
Quality video and its style is really engaging!! Wish u good luck ❤
been waiting for a month, were here man! keep uploading
Maybe look into web scraper youtube APIs like used in tube archivist to avoid the restrictions and limitations of the official API
the app is a great idea also could you please make a tutorial on how to make large scale apps using python and how to package it into an app which is publishable on app store or google play store. loved the video ❤
Really liked the editting on this one! 💯
Well it must be working. Haven't seen you in my suggested for a long time!
Looks good man
This video is a whole ass vibe 🎉❤
I love how you rubber ducked the solution in the first 60 seconds! rubber ducking FTW!
I mean once you side swipe someone's car, they're pretty much besties.. they're breaking so many unspoken rules. Anyways, great unrealized/realized app! :D
This is my first time watching one of your videos, and I absolutely loved it. I've subscribed to your channel. I got so much inspiration!
My man dropping breaking bad references thought we woundn't notice!!
Hats off to editing and your dedication, you just give me motivation to work on my unfinished projects.
18:10 that "disaster" was so random lmao, hysterical
for helping to hit the top, ty for your work

I like the way you mix beautiful cinematography with programming. I would like to create videos like you one day. You live such a beautiful life.
What you have would be great as an application/program perhaps paired with some sort of social management platform. I actually was playing around coding such a platform a while ago and after watching this I should pull it off the shelf and do a bit of work on it.
The highlight of this is the "Man vs Bee" challenge. Code > *fight Bee [temp] > Eat > Train > Sleep
Thats why types (even type hinting) are important
Would have saved you three hours
Great video! Keep up the work man :)
really i think i found my best tech youtuber so far wow
video was so relaxing hoping to see more because i would be checking from time to time
HALLDEN IS SO BACKKKK
Keep on going. Love your channel!
Amazing video. Also loved the vlog parts :)
typecasting is a hell of a thing
Great vid bro I look forward to more 😁
This motivated me to finish that side project I have
Keep going Hallden i really love your videos.
Awesome editing and really cool project!
Hey Hallden!!
Watched the whole video for your RUclips metrics
Cool video, I hope the success continues
Yes, this would be a great idea to start with. An app sounds amazing!
You should actually do an App and try to find a way to make it available to others, so they could use it. In the end the problem you are solving is actually touching every Content creator and even companies they would all be interested in that.

Auth-entic and inspiring video, keep going and make that amazing app 😎

Your my best youtube programmer i've been watching your videos since you've started.
Do it! build the app! and yes, keep going!!
kale is back finally
Glad you're back 😊
Since its summer in sweden (same here in finland) take break outdoor near by beach. Then come back to resolve it.
that video is very interesting actually, it gives me an energy
youtube need to hire this man
8:16 One of the problems with dynamic typed languages.
Great intro dude, I'll leave my comment here to improve that metrics.
plz never give up and be a doer..
The first time you mentioned the idea in the video, I thought you were already planning to create it eventually as an app.
Lets get this guy to 100k views!!!
Kalle, are you still there? Come back soon, we're waiting for you, man! Done what needs to be dn. and give us some news🍻
14:05 and following, that section of the video was so nice 🤗
let me know if you need some help with the Flutter app :)
Try Postman for testing APIs
An app could be very useful, plus you could have a feature in which a user allow the app to send an email every week/day etc.
Is there a reason you prefer to navigate from the code editor to the terminal and back every time you make a change to the code and want to re-run it? Why not just use the in-built terminal in VSCode? Using 'cmd+j' to toggle the terminal is pretty handy!
Good Idea how you came up with a video like that, so glad i saw it and wish the best of luck to you
What a great video, man!
cool stuff! What to do you think of ai and coding? for me, The way things are headed , Ai won't be replacing coders anytime soon!
Great video as usual!
Open the window next time, I usually do that for flies to go out.
POV: The last outro was a phone call to all his viewers.
Turn it into an application. It’s a cool SaaS idea!
Love your videos brother
next time you see a wasp just open the windows :) ,that thing wanted to go out already but window was closed
It'll be cool if it were an app. Also you could a feature to check how many downloads you have because not everyone streams, some save it for later
What did you use to send emails? Nice project!
I'm sorry but im little confused, doesn’t we get the analytics with in the yt studio ?
Have you tried the Cursor IDE instead of looking into chatGPT seperately every now and then? I love it so far!
Bruh! you inspired me to learn Flutter.
Couldn’t wait for this vid :D
Nice! I hope you enjoy it! Spent almost as long editing it as I did coding! 20hours of footage😆
Kalle is back!
Making a app and selling it and making money from it is always a good idea.
I had seen a video uploaded on your channel 4 years ago where you managed to get your typing speed up to 70 wpm during a 30 day challenge. I want to know how fast you can type now since I am also trying to get my typing speed up to compete with others.
9:33 dude why do you look like a grandma in this shot lmao
