Story time We might have told you already but it might help you to know Tuomas uses several pseudonyms to refer to himself in various Nightwish songs which he writes from experiences, observation or imagination, he says he is a man with a boy's heart, a grown-up Peter Pan, and you will see that directly in places even, when he uses boy narrators sometimes in place of himself. Digging into his lyrics is almost a second bite of the cherry. He will also use poet, dreamer, writer/song writer or ocean soul - Tuomas has an affinity for the ocean, he wanted to become a marine biologist; keep all this in mind for later, it will help. So here, "A writer by a fire. . . . . ." Tuomas is speaking to you directly, he is the story-teller, the “writer by the fire” - "Took a journey into a child-man’s heart" would be Tuomas remembering the childhood stories, the Peter Pan escapades of his imagination and fascinations, but the boy has grown up from being a Peter-Pan, the crib is empty. I am: the voice of Never-Never land, the empty crib, the journey, the destination, the home, Tuomas says, he's taking you back to his childhood fascinations. Floor sings the bridge "Neverland, innocence, dreams of every man. . . . . ." in a high operatic head voice, a pitch you might expect from a very excited small boy. Now, go look at all the lyrics and the references to the childhood classic stories and it all drops into place; it's one of the songs where it is easy to dig inside Tuomas' metaphoric lyrics and unravel them. Good stuff, you keep at it, Nightwish will not disappoint.

This is our Valkyrie Goddess for you. And you witnessed first hand a "Dutch Windmill" , and to finish you off, The Operatic "Cruise Missile" !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit". Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. Here's Floor's first band called After Forever, which she joined as a teenager in 1997...they continued up until 2009 and during that time they spent one summer touring Europe as the opening act for Nightwish. New bands? The Warning is not new. They have been a band for 10 years. They are currently Dany, age 24(guitar and lead vocals). Pau, age 22(drummer, lead and backup vocals,). Ale,age 19(bass guitar, backup vocals and sometimes lead vocals). Pau is the main composer for the band but only brings ideas, melodies, piano riffs, and a general idea of the song. All 3 then work on all aspects of the song. So far they have 2 EP's, 3 albums, and a 4th one to be released in the early summer this year. They are sisters from Monterrey, Mexico. A Rock&Roll trio, the best in decades. They were invited to play 2 songs at the VMA/MTV awards show in 2023, even though they were not in contention for an award(The first ever Mexican/Latin band to ever be invited to play at the show). You should check them out. They are an unusual band because, like Nightwish, they are best viewed LIVE. Try any song from their Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 2022 concert. Animosity, Disciple, Dust To Dust...any of the 22 songs are great. I should warn you...they have an Army too. Maybe not as big as Nightwish's army, but they, NW, have been a band for 28years. The Warning are doing World tours, so they are catching up! Please, give them a reaction. You'll be glad you did.

Did I mention The Warning is three sisters? I recommend you begin with the girls' live cover of 'Enter Sandman' at the Teatro Metropolitan CDMX from 2022. It would be great however if you could react to the best power metal band in the world right now. These 5 mega talented ladies deserve a listen but watch out for their fans, The wolfpack. The ladies are from Japan but sing in English, don't look like your typical metal band but rock harder and shred better than any male band... "Lovebites"... I'll start you off with "Holy war" as an introduction with their former bassist Miho (now replaced by Fami) Asami on vocals. Haruna on drums.
