Dany really brings the song home in the end when she belts out that haunting howl. She tends to really hook Pau up towards the end of her songs with another layer of amazing vocals.

You should really watch and listen to the 1991Berlin Show version to fully gain proper context fir the song.

Pau has workouts where she runs in a treadmill while singing. It is similar to the lung workout of military singing while running or marching. The practice builds lung capacity and endurance at the same time

I, too, have grown to rely on live performances captured on video to feel the full effect of music. My large, poor old box of CDs is sadly neglected. While never having seen Pink Floyd live, I attended a Brit Floyd concert a few years ago, and their performance combined with lasers shooting, at times, both above and below where I was seated was almost beyond words, creating a feeling of flying through space while listening. 'Supremely memorable. I would recommend watching Roger Waters' performance of "Us and Them" in Amsterdam - it's powerful.

I think you're absolutely right. Live versions are the best. Comfortably Numb is a perfect example of this. Everytime I check out a reaction I will shut it off if it's a studio version. Keep up the good work!

You've seen the soft side of Band-Maid first. They have slower, heartfelt song like this, and fast and chaotic songs, heavy rock n roll with different elements, acoustic, instrumental, upbeat pop-punk and more. Whatever the type of Band-Maid you listen to, they sound unique. ❤

It's not a "concert version", it's the band in their old age without Roger Waters who co-wrote and sang lead vocals on the main verse of the song trying to recreate the magic of their younger days. Yes, good job, but without Waters it's not really The Wall era Pink Floyd. More like a cover band.

🐦 In a concert held on Feb. 14th, 2020 *BAND-MAID* announced that they were going to play at *Budokan* on Feb 11th, 2021 but due to Covid the concert was canceled. In the live streaming concert *Saiki* address the fans and said how much *BAND-MAID* missed performing live to their *Masters and Princesses* and was followed up with this song that *BAND-MAID* has _maid_ for their fans. 🐦

What band writes songs to and about their fans? A special band.

Now imagine it's 3 years ago and we're in worldwide lockdown and Band-Maid livestreams 6 different full-length concerts (okyu-ji's) to entertain us and make sure they stayed personally connected to the fans. When they did this song for us, my heart burst. I am forever indebted to them for giving me something wonderful in what was a very very bad time in my life. Thanks for doing this. 🙂

This song was written for, and presented to the fans during an online concert (okyuji) on Feb. 11, 2021, the scheduled day of Band-Maid's debut at the Tokyo Budokan. About Us was preceded by a heartfelt message from Saiki expressing their feelings about having to cancel Budokan and many other shows. They went on to do several online okyuji's after this.

The Band Maid rabbit hole (maybe that should be pigeon hole Po!😄) is deep, they have slower songs like this that give you a big hug and others that metaphorically smack you in the face with a hard rock edge. They are all so talented, and like The Warning they have been playing together for ten years.

This was good of course, however, for sheer purity and technical excellence, the studio version is much better. I was at the pulse concert and was left stunned so I am speaking as a 50 year plus fan with an entire library of Pink Floyd.

Just discovered you. Welcome. Anyone who truly appreciates the genius of Pink Floyd is ok in my book. You are very astute in your observations. I will say that for the most part, live versions usually are lacking with most bands....not Pink Floyd however and the visual effects enhancing the music is outstanding.

I'll never ever forget the first time I saw the Pulse version of that track. It had and still does have the most profound effect on me and I wasnt even there. It was truly lifechanging. Even though I saw Gilmour play it on the Remember That Night gig at the Albert Hall that I was at in 2006 and saw Roger Waters do the same track in August 2006.... but man, this Pulse version was something else. Truly truly lifechanging.

I love this song, but on this live version I genuinly hate the multiple voices in the intro. At least Gilmore's saves the day. The solos are also much better on the live version, but god it sounds awful when they try to sing harmony voices.

Hi. First time watching you react. I think the difference between record and live is that the studio was how the song was envisioned, where as live is how they were caple of doing it. In the studio, there were only 4 people, the live version, a virtual army!!! So congrats for doing both versions. Pulse is great, but for the best version of The Big Gig in the Sky, see if you can find the version of The Delicate Sound Of Thunder concert. Different back up singers. But in saying that, the Pulse version is great too.
